Daar bleef het staan, totdat Robert onlangs een artikel in De Telegraaf las over een ander teruggevonden schilderij uit de Goudstikker-collectie. Op de achterkant van dat schilderij zag hij een sticker die hem bekend voorkwam. "Er ging meteen een lampie branden", zegt hij. "En inderdaad er zat een sticker op van de collectie Goudstikker. Ik dacht: ik moet de even melden en dit moet uitgezocht worden." Een man van middelbare leeftijd met een bril en tatoeages staat buiten op een stadsplein. Hij draagt een marineblauw shirt met een wit logo. Op de achtergrond zijn bomen, fietsen en gebouwen te zien. In de linkeronderhoek staat het AT5-logo. Via die melding kwam kunstdetective Arthur Brand in beeld. Hij onderzocht het schilderij en stelde vast dat het inderdaad afkomstig is uit de collectie van Jacques Goudstikker. De Joodse kunsthandelaar vluchtte in 1940 uit Nederland, waarna de nazi's zijn bijzondere kunstcollectie roofden. Nog altijd worden werken uit die collectie teruggevonden. Erfgenamen Voor de erfgenamen van Goudstikker is het uniek. "Ze zijn dankbaar en blij, ze kunnen het niet geloven" zegt Brand. "Eentje bij de nazaten van een hele bekende nazi. En de andere bij het grofvuil. Hoe gek wil je het hebben" Voor Robert stond één ding vast toen duidelijk werd waar het schilderij vandaan kwam. Hij besloot het zonder aarzelen terug te geven aan de erfgenamen van Goudstikker. Events pieced together by eyewitness videos and texts sent by the agents involved in Araujo's killing suggest that agents largely ignored Araujo's cries for help after he was shot. "They really just strung him along for hours until finally sending him to the hospital," says Juan Proaño, CEO of LULAC, the largest and oldest Latino civil rights organization in the United States. Houston police have begun investigating the shooting as a homicide, "but my expectation is that their investigation will similarly be hampered by DHS," says Proaño. "Als je valt en je hebt hersenletsel, dan is het toch heel stom dat je geen helm op had", zegt een fietser met een groene pothelm. "Ik wilde alleen niet voor lul lopen, dus ik heb deze genomen." De fietsers die een helm dragen zijn veelal de mensen die een e-bike hebben, legt Florrie de Pater van de Fietsersbond uit. De voorzitter van de Amsterdamse afdeling van de bond is positief over de ontwikkeling dat meer en meer mensen een helm dragen. "Ze dragen het om zich te beschermen tegen ernstig hersenletsel." Toename in verkoop Niet alleen op straat valt het op, ook fietsenhandelaren merken dat ze meer fietshelmen verkopen. "De verkoop is zeker toegenomen de afgelopen tijd", legt Nils Rensen van een fietsenwinkel in Oud-Zuid uit. "We zien steeds meer expats in de stad komen en die kopen ook allemaal een helm", legt hij uit Rensen: "En de ouderen willen het qua veiligheid, het gaat toch allemaal steeds sneller tegenwoordig op straat. Die voelen zich veiliger met een helm". De Pater van de Fietsersbond adviseert voornamelijk ouderen en mensen met kinderen ook om een helm te gaan dragen. Zelf doet ze dat overigens nog niet: "Ik heb er een thuis, maar ben er psychisch nog niet helemaal aan toe. Daarbij, ik rij altijd op een gewone fiets." In 2035 wil de overheid dat circa een kwart van de Nederlanders een helm draagt. Als het aan fietsverkoper Rensen ligt is daar een cultuuromslag voor nodig.
