After I'd been playing for a while, I realised that there were a few tempos that I really seemed to struggle with. "Sweet Home Alabama" by Lynyrd Skynyrd was a great example of this type of song. What I wanted to play was extended 16th note pentatonic lines that I could take all over the neck. Once upon a time the 45 and the LP were rival formats. This video tells the story of how RCAs beef with Columbia ended up shaping the future of popular music. This is a video about the Format War of 1949. Later developments like 12" 45s, EPs, 16RPM records, styrene singles and those 45s with a raised stepped ridge around the centre that aided grip when used on a stacker player didn't feature in this story because they were introduced after the conclusion of this 1949 format war chapter. Regarding the question posed at the end - a few people have mentioned that the record players in their country had single adaptors. This was not unusual. I've demonstrated a few turntables on this channel with the built-in 45 adaptors. If your turntable didn't have a built in adaptor - you could buy one. However that's the result - not the cause. The records came first - the players accommodated the type of records sold in that country. A country could have chosen to go with small or large holes - the decision on which way they went was the thing of interest - what was the common denominator? Why was a large spindle hole chosen in Germany, but a small one in the UK? We think we have an answer - it seems that Commonwealth countries went with the small hole and countries with a US armed forces presence after the war were more inclined towards the large hole. The brushless motor comes with an adapter for mounting, but where's the fun in that? I wanted to play with the new Taig, so I removed the top of the motor can and replicated the features in Fusion. I then cut this profile into the top of the motor housing manufactured in the last episode. All in all, things went mostly according to plan. But Hubble's best images have come and gone, and the world's most famous telescope will sadly come to an end in the not-to-distant future. I equipped one of my Performance Robots with a Nerf Blaster, gave it a #Terminator head, and hid it behind a board. I asked members of the public to shoot targets on the board without telling them what was behind it! I'm controlling the Terminator with the puppeteering rig from behind a black screen and looking at what's going on through some webcams. Nara, in the Yamato region of Japan, was the country’s capital from AD 710–784 – and the cradle of traditional Japanese culture. This special display runs in two rooms: the Asahi Shimbun Displays (Room 3) has treasures from Hōryūji, one of Japan’s oldest Buddhist temples, dating between the AD 600s and 700s. The Mitsubishi Corporation Japanese Galleries (Room 93) feature sacred sculptures and paintings from the great temples and shrines of Nara, from the AD 700s to the 1400s. The Buddhist religion was introduced to Japan from China and Korea in the AD 500s, along with writing and new forms of government, transforming indigenous culture. For most of Japanese history, Buddhism has flourished alongside Shinto, native beliefs in kami (deities of nature and ancestors). In Nara, Shinto kami came to be regarded as emanations and protectors of Buddhist deities.
