Time for something a little bit different! We're going on a road trip with the bike carb AW11 and we are visiting an abandoned communist air base hidden inside a rock near the beautiful city of Mostar. What can we learn about these gatherings? Can we call this a godless form of religiosity? The Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Plus 5G is ready to be taken apart and reviewed from the inside. The Note 10 Plus is one of the most expensive, and feature rich flagship phones on the market right now. And today we are going to take it apart and see what the guts look like. The Note 10 Plus has a stacked mother board, 5 cameras, and a vapor chamber to keep the whole thing cool. Yeah the battery is glued into the frame, and the Note 10 screen is the last thing to be removed. Its not a very 'repairable' phone. But it is definitely time for Samsung to add pull tabs to the battery. I've built another three test robot dogs legs in the name of robotic development! I decided to experiment with using current control to make a joint that behaves like a spring, using a brushless motor with 2-stage belt reduction so it's back-driveable, and an ODrive motor controller using current limiting. There are no other joints in this dog because it is only for experimentation, so it cannot walk anywhere, but we can smash the legs into the ground and see what happens. However a robot with springs in it's legs will behave quite unpredictably, so we need to dampen the spring and make it complaint for it to be any use. I experimented with this by using a PID controller to drive the motor to its new position after the 'virtual spring' has stretched. The new test rig seems to work well - it can be shoved around without getting too upset and the legs comply with the ground. ① HARDWARE/SOFTWARE What more important hardware is there in life than the clothes on your back and the cup in your hand. If you saw my last video, you'd know that I removed the nails from my picking hand. In order to demonstrate the difference in tone when using nails and when not using them. This kind of big change forces me to rebuild and adapt my technique to the requirements of no-nail picking, So I thought I'd show you the simple exercises I'm doing to reacquaint myself with this. This week I'm focusing in rebuilding my Apoyando (or rest-stroke) then moving on to my Tremolo technique.

Here's the second dyno run of the bike carb 4age. This time we made non-embarrassing results. Power was decent, torque is fabulous (I could tell the whole time, didn't need a dyno for that). Unfortunately, the numbers between the individual dyno tests were a bit inconsistent so I'm taking these results with a nice salty grain of salt! For now. There is another dyno, but it's hundreds of miles away. Also, I don't care about numbers anymore honestly, the car feels great and it's a true joy to drive. #d4a #bikecarb4age #dyno #buttdyno #mr2 #bikecarbsoncars #bikecarbconversion #4age #4age16v #aw11 #ae86 #4agebigport #mr2mk1 #toyota #jdm #celica #corolla #starlet #ke70 #fx16 #ignitionmap #fuel #camshaft #tuning

Ever since I laid eyes on these wondrous cyberpunk like machines in the 90s, I was captivated. Huge pod like booths, connected to massive, bright headsets seemed like the future; Virtual Reality seemed like the future. In a way it was, because W Industries and Virtuality created something pretty staggering for the 90s. Here was VR which worked, it was immersive and even better, it was affordable, meaning arcades, leisure centres and theme parks were quick to get their own pods installed. So join me on a personal quest of enthralment, as I look at the company and machines behind the original Virtual Reality boom of the 1990s. How to make finger and box joints with only a router. No table saw necessary! Brought to you by Squarespace. For 10% off your first purchase, go to: http://squarespace.com/makesomething Hardwood from Kencraft: https://goo.gl/pCyB95 The red zebra wood box we made in the video is available on eBay: https://ebay.to/30vHUtI How to make box joints (sometimes called finger joints) using only a router. Making box joints on the table saw requires a dado stack which isn’t available in all areas. The next best method is at the router table but not everyone has the space for a dedicated router table. This tutorial video shows a simple method on making a jig out of plywood for a hand held router that attaches to the base. Once you make this woodworking jig you’ll always be set up for box joints and finger joints. If you choose to change up your box joint finger width you’ll need to swap out the bit and make a dedicated fence for that bit. Get 2 months of Skillshare Premium for free at: https://skl.sh/stevemould4 Metals have a crystal structure. But they're not one big crystal, they're lots of small crystals called grains. The size of the grains affects the physical properties of the metal, like hardness, toughness, strength, mailability, ductility, plasticity. Heating a metal can change the size of the grains. This ball bearing model demonstrates annealing. Ductility is dependent on how far dislocations are able to travel in the metal which is dictated by grain size. I'm building some robust robot torsos that I can use as a basis for lots of YouTube performances and events. The robots will be reliable, agile, robust, and transportable. I plan to make puppeteering rigs, and software/interfaces which I can plug other projects into - like vision recognition and machine learning. This time I'm sorting out an interface to DMX so I can use off the shelf software for controlling the robots. Any future controllers I build will all be DMX capable so I can record and playback motions, or interface to other things such as vision recognition etc. I'm using an off the shelf DMX Arduino shield and the DMXsimple & TeensyDMX libraries to read and write DMX values. I'm using Freestyler for now which is free DMX software so control the robot. Next time I'll be building puppeteering rigs which will be DMX controllers. ① HARDWARE/SOFTWARE What more important hardware is there in life than the clothes on your back and the cup in your hand. Extra note: I'm starting a Facebook page for AlphaPhoenix with video updates and info about projects I'm working on! https://www.facebook.com/AlphaPhoenixChannel In this video I take a trip to Thistle Dhu, the famous putting course at Pinehurst and write a matlab program to simulate a million putts at once, all in an effort to map "Phase Spaces" of golf. There's a common scientific mindset normally referred to as a phase space or parameter space, where you express everything that could happen in an experiment in terms of the variables you can control. In the case of putting a golf ball, the ball can go in the hole, or it can miss completely - if it misses, we also care how far from the hole it stopped. You only actually have control of two variables while putting a golf ball, the initial speed and initial direction. After you hit the ball, physics takes over! By popular request, here's some code! https://github.com/BrianHaidet/AlphaPhoenix/tree/master/Golf_green_Verlet_simulator_phase-space Music: I Dunno by grapes is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution license (https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/) http://ccmixter.org/files/grapes/16626 Graphic based on plot from McSkimming et al., (2014) 10.1016/j.jcrysgro.2013.10.013
