Do you think smart gloves are the future? These are the smart cell phone gloves that I open up in this video: https://amzn.to/2OAR6b6 Have you ever wanted to hold your thumb and pinky up to your ear and *actually* talk to someone instead of just using a 'pretend' phone? Well the future is here, with this brand new smart Bluetooth enabled glove that can keep your hands warm WHILE making phone calls out in the cold. The smart glove has an earpiece in the thumb and a microphone built into the hand so you dont actually have to remove the phone from your pocket to answer a phone call. Your Smartglove can do it all for you. I have a conversation with a friend in the scientific field about the recently exposed "Sokal Squared" academic hoax, by which three junior professors concocted a series of intentionally absurd, nonsensical articles and had several of them accepted into respectable academic journals. What are the implications of their success? Is "theory" or "postmodernism" to blame? The lax standards of humanities journals? The drive to "publish or perish" in academia? Does the problem extend to social science or "hard science" fields? And what should be done about it? We try to sort through the confusing picture, and I recommend possible responses, such as the inclusion of non-academics in the peer-review process. Need sway bar links? Why not make your own? It's easy and cheap! I decided to do this because I couldn't find replacement sway bar links readily available for my 1987 Toyota MR2. I had two options. One was to buy aftermarket adjustable sway bar links which are honestly overkill and waste of money for a car that will be driven mostly on the street. The other option was to get them from the dealership. Weirdly enough Toyota still stocks these but I was quoted an obscene price of 450 EUR (480$) for two pairs of sway bar links. So I decided to make my own. Making them is super simple and here are the steps. Step 1: Find the length of sway bar links you need. Look it up online, measure your existing ones if you have them or lift your car up and measure the distance between your sway bar and strut or wherever else they are mounted on your car. Step 2: Buy sway bar links. You can buy the cheapest links you can find, but they have to be longer than you need and the studs have to fit through your sway bar hole and your strut mounting hole. Step 3: Get an angle grinder and cut down to size. Measure twice cut once. Step 4: Thread the rod ends using a threading die. This is the trickiest part of this diy project as human hands aren't accurate and if you're not careful you can end with a uneven thread. I suggest putting the threading die in a table vise which will give you more control and better results. Step 5: Assemble the sway bar link using two nylock safety nuts and one extended nut Step 6: Install the sway bar links Step 7: You can adjust sway bar preload by making the links longer or shorter And that's pretty much all there is to it. A simple solution for having sway bar links on cars where replacements are hard or impossible to find. Before you say that this is a horrible, cheap, ghetto fix I would like to say that the forces sway bar links are exposed to are never going to be enough for this to be any sort of a safety issue or concern. I have seen amateur drift cars with these installed and they are sitting there for ages without any issues at all. That being said, these are great for street driven cars but I don't see them as a permanent solution for heavy duty applications like track, drift, autocross and so on. For heavy duty stuff it's best to invest into heavy duty equipment. https://www.driving4answers.com/shop/ #d4a #swaybar #swaybarlinks #diy #howto #suspension #4age #4age16v #aw11 #ae86 #4agebigport #mr2mk1 #mr2 #toyota #jdm #celica #corolla #starlet #ke70 #fx16

Remember 80s TV Gameshows? They were incredible, yet terrible at the same time. But limited by entertainment options, and TV channels, we tuned in daily to watch these shows, usually featuring excitable members of the public. From Knightmare to The Crystal Maze, Countdown, The Krypton Factor, Going for Gold, The Generation Game, Bullseye, even Run the Gauntlet. Well, I've selected 4 80s Gameshows, and their ZX Spectrum counterparts, to see how both the gameshows and their game versions faired. Rose tinted spectacles on standby. More at https://twitter.com/zxretro/status/688865666514944000 I would have used the actual ZX Spectrum game artwork, but it's so monochrome that you'd have barely seen what it was. ** For exclusive videos, mystery boxes and other rewards, please consider supporting me at; https://www.patreon.com/nostalgianerd ** ☟Sharing☟ If you wish to share this video in forums, social media, on your website, *please do so*! The more you're able to apply Active Practice techniques to your guitar sessions, the more quickly you'll improve and the less you will be dogged and slowed by finding that you have to correct bad habits. I found a bike in the woods a couple of weeks ago, and it seems to have been there for quite some time. This is a section of Pisgah National Forest where you are very unlikely to find litter—this is not some city park. If this bike was left in an emergency, the owner certainly didn’t make it look so, and nobody has come back to get it. I considered the circumstances briefly; maybe someone was hurt and left the bike? Maybe there was a crash and someone was rescued? None of these scenarios explain how the bike was thrown so far off trail with no destruction path. This was clearly a rage quit. So today we’re going to clean the forest, have some fun, and hopefully get paid for it. I'm a part owner of Clik. I wasn't looking for a CNC mill... but somehow this little Taig ended up in my garage. Sometimes there's a deal you just can't pass up. This little guy showed up on my local CL for a great price and I grabbed it. Spent a few nights after work knocking together an enclosure, added flood coolant and now have a mostly-working little CNC mill. Being a Taig it's super limited and I'll probably only use it for aluminum and plastic. But it'll help out with small intricate parts like motor mounts.

Just recently I was listening to Stevie Ray Vaughan, use the Dominant 9th Pentatonic in his Blues playing. This is a great way of adding new colours to your improvisations and emphasizing chord changes, and maybe not as difficult as you may think, to do as well. This week I show how you can use your existing knowledge of the pentatonic scale to turn it into a dominant 9th pentatonic, then use it to add these sounds to chord 4 in a typical blues progression.

The Sims almost certainly wouldn't exist, or at least, be the same without a game released in 1985 known as Little Computer People. Published by Activision, it's one of the first instances of a "virtual pet" or "human simulator" and was arguably well ahead of its time. Here I'm investigating the original Commodore 64 release which poised as a special new research project, to observe actual living people who resided in our personal computers. By creating a house on a disk, the idea was to coax these little people out of the circuitry, and into a 2 1/2 story house, where we could interact, play games and even starve, if we so choose. Good times indeed. Thank you to both Stuart Ashen of Ashens, and Clint Basinger of LGR for lending their superlative voices for this episode.
