This week I thought I'd run through a useful set of 9th Arpeggio shapes. All are similarly structured, the root note is on the 5th string and they follow the same fingering structure as 7th arpeggios. These shapes also lend themselves to being played using a legato technique. Give them a go and see how you get on! 3:48 DMaj9 6:02 EMin9 6:53 F#Min7b9 7:42 GMaj9 8:19 A9 9:02 BMin9 9:43 C#Min7b5b9

These days AMD is synonymous with 3D; after all they make graphics cards & the chipsets which power them, but back in the 90s, their main focus was CPUs, and their main rival was Intel. Not very much has changed in that respect, but the late 90s was a different world where 3D games were still in their infancy. This meant that new technologies were flying about to try and squeeze the most from systems at the time. From AMD, one of those was the 3DNow! instruction set incorporated into the AMD K6-2 CPU. Intel's version was SSE, which was really an extension to their MMX instruction set. So in this video we'll take a quick look at both. At what they do, and ultimately at who won out in the early days of 3D gaming. ** For exclusive videos, mystery boxes and other rewards, please consider supporting me at; https://www.patreon.com/nostalgianerd?ty=h ** ☟Sharing☟ If you wish to share this video in forums, social media, on your website, *please do so*! CBS envisioned all records made after 1982 utilising their CX encoding system, but if you've bought any music on vinyl since the mid 80s, you won't see a CX logo on the sleeve...so what went wrong. Watch this video to find out. If you are interested in the technical details of CX - here’s the patent https://www.google.com/patents/US4376916 Here’s the link to my DBX Disc video https://youtu.be/1qtxPSR8q98 Answers to regularly asked questions Q) What kind of monitor is that? A) Here's my video about it: https://youtu.be/W_4nsUL4MRw Q) if you could have played the audio samples shown, what do they sound like A) It’s very hard to spot the differences. It’s just that the very quietest moments (which are fleeting and only last for a fraction of a second in these pop songs) are a little bit louder. You can hear the section highlighted on the waveform in the link below -and you'll see why I didn't include it in the video as it does a very good job of proving very little. The sample is played in the following order CX Disc, CX=ON, Normal Record, CX Disc, CX=OFF http://bit.ly/2yYG36M Q) What is that Subscriber counter thing in the background? A) Here's my video about it: https://youtu.be/aEIhc-2vmIM Other Questions: Q) Did CED & LaserDisc players have built in CX decoders A) Yes they did..except for some of the very earliest models. Q) Could you take pictures of both sides of that circuit so I can try and reverse engineer it and make my own CX decoder. A) Nope - there's no need - Instead, follow the guide in this issue of Popular Electronics if you want to build your own http://www.americanradiohistory.com/Archive-Poptronics/80s/1982/Poptronics-1982-01.pdf -------------SUPPORT--------------- This channel can be supported through Patreon https://www.patreon.com/techmoan Patrons usually have early access to videos ---------------SUBSCRIBE------------------ http://www.youtube.com/user/Techmoan?sub_confirmation=1 -------THANKS TO ------- Jerobeam Fenderson for the intro animation: http://oscilloscopemusic.com/ ----------Outro Music----------- Over Time - Vibe Tracks https://youtu.be/VSSswVZSgJw ------Outro Sound Effect------ ThatSFXGuy - https://youtu.be/5M3-ZV5-QDM

What constitutes a “scary line” is relative. For some it’s a 2 foot drop, and for others it’s a 40 foot rock roll. The decision to try a new line must be yours, and yours alone, however there’s a way to do it right. Being overcome with fear and taking a “leap of faith” is a great way to get hurt. My friend Alexander recently tried a rock roll that he was absolutely terrified of. Instead of going balls out and hitting it blind, he took a planned and calculated approach which ultimately resulted in a successfully conquered feature! Learn from this story as we analyze Alex’s efforts on this scary rock roll. If you need to do anything scary, you can follow these steps to maximize your chances of coming out alive. Surely Microsoft Windows, Doom and Cuphead can't be run on a Sega Game Gear can they? Well, no, obviously they can't, but they can be run THROUGH a Sega Game Gear, in a method which I find probably more interesting than if it was running on actual hardware. *SPOILER* Everything in this video is run through a Sega Game Gear TV Tuner. The UHF Signal is produced through a VCR, which is then passed through a signal booster and into an indoor aerial. This is a method which can be used to push an analog TV signal around your house or in a very local area, in effect, creating your own analog TV transmitter. In effect, this is Game Gear TV, through a Game Gear TV Tuner. ** For exclusive videos, mystery boxes and other rewards, please consider supporting me at; https://www.patreon.com/nostalgianerd?ty=h ** ☟Sharing☟ If you wish to share this video in forums, social media, on your website, *please do so*! On September 9, 2017, in Brussels, we brought together 1,500 people and a set of star speakers (including former Ecuador President Rafael Correa) to put forward a real progressive alternative for the EU. As political scientist Pedro Moniz stated, we were able to gather more attention than Juncker’s State of the Union speech itself. And in the run-up to the evening event, we held a workshop where DiEM25 activists from across Europe collaborated on how to take our movement’s work to the next level. Here’s a video of highlights from the day, featuring DiEMers from across Europe. Gear puller I used: https://amzn.to/2oRocLn Here's a quick little video showing you how to remove old rubber suspension bushings without a press or without burning them out using flames. This is a job you will need to do when you decide to upgrade your suspension with polyurethane bushings for improved handling (and a stiffer ride). The concept is simple and straightforward and uses a gear puller to push bushings out of suspension components such as control arms, leaf springs, torque arms etc. In case you run into super stubborn old bushings, there's a solution for that as well. Just submerge them in gasoline for a few days. This will disintegrate the rubber and make it super easy to remove using the gear puller. This class of dyes is one of the most popular and it is used to dye clothing in a unique way. It is based on a reaction known as "azo coupling" where two dye components are developed directly on/in the textile fibers. The Para Red is not the best though and it is very prone to rubbing off and washing away. Because of this, other dyes are often used instead. Also, I used only one dye here, but combinations can sometimes be used to increase the vibrancy and "richness" of the color. Both of the main starting chemicals can be made completely from scratch: • p-nitroaniline: sodium benzoate -- benzene -- nitrobenzene -- aniline -- acetanilide -- p-nitroaniline • 2-naphthol: naphthalene (moth balls) -- 2-naphthol For the p-nitroaniline, I've done all the reactions in various videos over the years. The sodium benzoate that I start with is a very cheap and easy to get food preservative. I might make the 2-naphthol in a future video. This is probably the best method I know to permanently memorise the guitar fretboard so that you have instant recall of where any note is on any fret of the guitar neck.

What is going on in Catalonia? We trace the long history of the small region in Spain’s northeastern corner, considering how medieval rebellions, dynastic struggles, and radical anarchist unions all helped to lay the groundwork for the separatist movement that today is flirting with unilaterally breaking away from Spain. We also account for the refusal of neighboring countries or the EU to say anything about the Spanish crisis, since Catalan independence threatens the survival not only of Spain, but of almost every large nation-state in Europe and the liberal internationalist order that they have built. It's been 30 years since Operation Wolf graced our arcades back in 1987. Do you remember the arcades of the late 80s and early 90s? Filled with such gems as Robocop, Chase HQ, TMNT, Street Fighter, The Simpsons, Eswat, and many many more. Well, Operation Wolf stood proudly among these classics, and for good reason. Armed with an Uzi like gun offering some impressive recoil action, your aim was to defeat wave after wave of enemy whilst saving the hostages. Fast forward some 30 years and we have Operation Warcade. Not an official sequel to the Operation Wolf franchise, but a modern interpretation of a classic which works beautifully in Virtual Reality. Here's a look at the Wearable Gimbal from Feiyu Tech. Most 4K action cameras do not have image stabilisation for the 4k/UHD modes, a notable exception being the expensive Sony FDR-X3000R http://amzn.to/2fY6GwV which uses optical image stabilisation. So that's where this device comes in, it stabilises the motion of any action camera that fits within its mount, but it's not perfect. Watch the video to learn more. Feiyu Tech have already brought out a newer version, the WG2. I haven't tested this, but hopefully it rectifies the tilting issue of its predecessor.
