Join textile conservators Monique Pullan and Hannah Vickers as they embark on this intricate conservation journey over the course of 11 weeks. This embroidery dates from China’s Tang dynasty (AD 618–907). It depicts the Buddha preaching at Vulture Peak – in Buddhist tradition a favourite retreat of the Buddha and his disciples, located in what is now north-east India. The tapestry is part of a collection donated to the British Museum by the archaeologist Sir Aurel Stein (1862–1943). A video answering the question - "Why don't they make handheld Digital TVs?" The wrong answer would be to say that "smartphones killed handheld TVs"...it's more complicated than that. Smartphones might be one reason people don't use handheld TVs *nowadays* but pocket TVs were killed off *years before* 3G networks suitable for streaming video had been built out in the UK. The truth is that Apathy killed the dream of Pocket Digital TVs. In this video I'll attempt to explain what happened as far as the UK goes and then demonstrate the kind of results you can expect to get if you use one of the limited range of no-brand handheld TV that can be found in the depths of eBay. In the absence of any offerings from Sony or Casio...this is as good as it gets. Here's a link to the Digital TV shown in the video: http://ebay.to/2tjejU2 Q) What's the DeathStar thing? It is highly water soluble and it looks and tastes like sugar. Oil pressure tester: https://amzn.to/33vZhvI Here's a quick litttle video showing you how to check the oil pressure on your engine Oil pressure is one of the most important things when it comes to your engine's health. My 4age 16v engine on my toyota mr2 mk1 aw11 has recently developed some strange engine noise and I am doing a series of tests to determine what's wrong. Oil pressure is extremely important because without adequate oil pressure the metal compotenetns inside your engines like your crankshaft journals and connecting rods would make contact and your engine would suffer catastrphic failure. Checking your oil pressure is super easy. All you need is an oil pressure tester and some pliers. YOu can get an oil pressure tester super cheap from eBay, which is where I got mine for like 20 bucks. After you have done that you will need to disconnect your oil pressure sender and attach the oil pressure tester in its place. Be sure to research whether your oil pressure sender uses NPT, BSPT or BSPP fittings. Once you have connected your oil pressure tester fire up the engine and keep an eye out for the pressure and the leaks. Make sure you test the pressure when the engine is hot, and also when it is hot. And also at idle and at 3000 rpm. My oil pressure was thankfully within spec but my oil pressure needle was kinda bouncy which worries me a bit so I will be dropping my oil pan in the videos to come and checking for rod knock by looking directly at my bearings. We calculated the strength of magnetic field due to a finite wire carrying current using the Biot Savarts law over here https://www.youtube.com/edit?o=U&video_id=GYwZnYbdymY Then we used this an figured out the field due to an infinitely long wire here https://www.youtube.com/edit?o=U&video_id=ZjXyYZgJXpw We will now repeat the same thing, but this time we shall use Amperes law and show you the power of symmetry. Amperes law is very useful in symmetric situations.

Here we look at the second law which will be useful in calculating the strength of a magnetic field due to current carrying wires. By the end of this, you should be able to see some sort of similarity between this and the Gauss's law of electricity

Solenoids and electromagnets. We will see a great application of the understanding of magnetism from electricity.

I reviewed CLR CFF having seen it Sprudge and other places. This was not fun. Music: "Driving in the Dark" by AnJa

From the previous video, the new and correct question should be, why isn't everything magnetic?

We will go deeper this time. Let's look at an atom very closely and see how, a single atom behaves just like a magnet.

Finally we look at what is really the source of magnetism in this universe.

To calculate the magnetic field on the axis, we use Biot Savart's law to find the field due to a small current element. Since this field direction is off-axis we resolve it into two components - along the axis and perpendicular to the axis. When considering all the current elements, the component along the perpendicular cancels out. Now we can add up all the fields by doing a summation.

My Daughter asked me how to play "She Has No Time" by Keane. The original backing is all keyboard pads and washes, so this was more about coming up with an original arrangement than copying the original recording. Here is Pippa and I performing it... https://youtu.be/nBopQKSiUyY Have fun with it!
