This is the start of my Pacific Northwest trip with Brian from BKXC. We start in Seattle and work our way up to the promise land. On day one, Diamondback takes us out on their home stomping grounds for some trail riding. Thanks to the Evergreen Mountain Bike Alliance for building and maintaining these amazing trails. Check them out here: https://www.evergreenmtb.org Bike I was riding: https://www.diamondback.com/mission-pro-2517 Hand Pump: https://www.crankbrothers.com/product/view/709 The Pacific Northwest is known as one of the greatest mountain biking destinations in the world, and for good reason. Every day, I read comments from people literally begging me to go there. Let’s do that. Over the next few videos I’ll be riding Seattle, Bellingham, and of course British Columbia. I’m going to the promise land, and taking you guys with me. But first, I need to find someone to watch my house while I’m gone. We met Bryce Wenker, brand manager for Diamondback at Duthie Hill mountain bike park. Bryce and TJ, also from Diamondback, would show us around the Seattle metro area. Duthie was just a warm up. We didn’t have time to ride all of Duthie, but I saw enough. On any trip to Washington, this is a must visit spot for all skill levels. We headed out to some local trails to kill some time before lunch. As more Diamondback riders showed up, we knew we were in for a party. They were excited to show us what Seattle had to offer, and on one of the longest days of the year, we had plenty of time to do it. Bryce ordered food ahead of time so we could fuel up for the next spot—an unfinished trail. Have you ever used paper, or something made of wood? Ever wonder where it comes from? The Evergreen Mountain Bike alliance doesn’t just move ridiculous amounts of dirt, they also work with the government and the public to put land to good use. They’re a model for other organizations around the country, and without their help we wouldn’t have had time to ride so many places in one day. If you want to see all this stuff they’re working on, I dropped a link below. So there you have it, day fucking one. We have Bryce from Diamondback to thank for organizing this huge day of riding, so show and the other riders some love on Instagram. Brian and I set out for the next spot in Washington, Bellingham. Our day in Bellingham was very special, so I’m going to edit it at home after the trip. Next time, you can join us as we cross the Canadian border and visit the promise land. Thanks for riding with me today, and I’ll see you next time.

The Sabamobil is one of the rarer tape formats from the 60s. The cartridges may look strange but they hide a simple secret inside. Click 'Show All' to read the FAQs Potential FAQs Q) What speed does the tape run at A) 3.75 ips Q) How much audio can a tape hold. A) My tape contained a total of approx 90 mins of mono audio when tracks A,B,C & D were added together. Real FAQs Q: What's the name of the track at 07:50 A) Kurt Henkels: Junger Mann aus gutem Hause https://youtu.be/T7_Hje0-8UM Q) What's the name of the song at 08:03? A) Peppermint twist. https://youtu.be/g7m6AOn22Hk The version on the Sabamobil is a soundalike group. Q) Does it have an auto-stop mechanism? A) Well if it does, it isn't working on mine - the motor continues to spin at the end of a side and slips on the rubber wheel until the mechanism is manually switched off. Q) Why didn't I pan the audio to the left and right on the reel to reel so I could play the separate tracks. A) I needed to record the tape on a PCM recorder to include those recordings in this video - so dubbing two tracks at once was great because it takes half the time. -------------SUPPORT--------------- This channel can be supported through Patreon https://www.patreon.com/techmoan Patrons usually have early access to videos ---------------SUBSCRIBE------------------ http://www.youtube.com/user/Techmoan?sub_confirmation=1 ----------Outro Music----------- Over Time - Vibe Tracks https://youtu.be/VSSswVZSgJw ------Outro Sound Effect------ ThatSFXGuy - https://youtu.be/5M3-ZV5-QDM

SUBSCRIBE FOR WEEKLY VIDEOS. This bike was built for Science Gallery Dublin, where you can actually ride it right now till september! Its primary goal was to be useable by anyone. The last synth bike was very cryptic, it had more functions but was hard to understand! This is a synth bike for everyone. Its an analog synth, and a drum machine all built into a groove box on handlebars. It consists of 12 arduinos! The synth is An oscillator going into a frequency central VCF VCA, and also being quantized and octaved by a Frequency central TRANS EUROPA. there is a wav trigger holding all of the drums! and the power supplies are FREQUENCY CENTRAL also. its a proper spaghetti junction! You can support this channel on Patreon! Link below This video has been re-uploaded with the VHS footage captured from the RCA VDT-600, a VCR from 1979. This is a much fairer comparison than using the Panasonic unit as the VHS playback device. Many people believe that Beta was a vastly superior product to VHS, but I think this was mostly marketing prowess on Sony's part. People seemed to think that they were giving up something of quality if the went with VHS over Beta. But as this video will demonstrate, I don't think that was really the case. A recent study analyzed 130,000 religious leaders in the United States, mostly from Christian and Jewish denominations. The researchers compared their voting registration with their denominations, trying to find trends in each denomination. Some denominations swing hard in one direction (Democrat or Republican) while other denominations seem more evenly split. In the 17th century, Athanasius Kircher described an instrument with which we humans have had an intense and abiding fascination. Why? Well, it's either for its taboo nature, or because we just think it's the funniest thing on the planet. Ahhhh the Mixtape. Whether we're talking the 1980s or 1990s, the mix tape was an essential compilation of your favourite tunes collected from other cassettes, the radio, your friend's brand new spanking compact disc player. Our lives would have been more expensive and less music dense without the homemade compilation tape. So as it's 2017, the time feels right to use Aldi's latest Boombox offering (in the form of a Maxtek stereo), with its MP3 SD card functionality, and record a mixtape for use in my car's hi-fi system. Because frankly, when it comes to tape recorders, today's world is a little thin on the ground (if you want a new offering at least), and having the ability to combine new technology with old is always appealing. Splendid stuff. I also take a look at the #SegaForever tape Sega kindly sent me and have a quick test of the Deus ex Machina audio cassette for use in a future video! The full track listing for Now! 23 (otherwise known as Now! That's What I Call Music 23) can be found at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Now_That%27s_What_I_Call_Music!_23_(UK_series) - it's a great album (as long as you're into power ballads and the finest cheesy pop the '90s has to offer). ☟Sharing☟ If you wish to share this video in forums, social media, on your website, *please do so*! TP-Link HS100 Voice activated Smart plugs have proved useful for me in utilising the power sockets in my house that are otherwise inaccessible. Smart plugs have been on the market for quite some time now - but in recent months the prices have reduced significantly and in this video I demonstrate they are now so quick and easy to set-up, almost anyone can do it. Purchasing a TP Link SMART WiFi PLUG Amazon UK: http://amzn.to/2qFRnff Amazon US: http://amzn.to/2qAhFEJ Amazon CA: http://amzn.to/2qFGaLG Echo Dot: Amazon UK: http://amzn.to/2sU50Kg Amazon US: http://amzn.to/2rawNVw ----The basic RF remote control socket I show at the beginning can also be found on Amazon--- UK: http://amzn.to/2rn4QJp US: http://amzn.to/2seM1fx CA: http://amzn.to/2stBu0s FAQs Q) Why didn't you use the Belkin Wemo with the Echo A) I wanted to try a new cheaper and smaller plug instead and then once I'd got it working I wanted to buy more of the same model to keep them in the same eco-system. I have also heard quite a few reports regarding general unreliability of the Wemo - disconnections etc. However if it works for you that's great..you should always do whatever makes you happy. Q) Will this work with Google Home A) Yes - I have been advised that it works fine Q) Will this plug work with Apple Homekit A) No - it does not support Homekit. Answers to questions like these can be found on the TP link website here: http://uk.tp-link.com/download/HS100.html or on the smarthome website here: https://www.smarthomedb.com/product/tp-link-wi-fi-smart-plug/faq/p1118/does-the-tp-link-wi-fi-smart-plug-support-homekit-connectivity/q45381 Q) What is the fancy clock in the background at the beginning? A) This - https://youtu.be/aEIhc-2vmIM but most people don't want to buy one when they see the price. Q) Why would anyone need to turn off their HiFi power supply A) OK - weird question but here we go....my HiFi has an 8-gang power extension plugged into the wall - into this are plugged 6 components and two step-down power converters which power the Japanese 100V and US 120V devices - these step-down converters are not supposed to be left powered on for extended periods of time and therefore when the HiFi is not in use they need to be powered down. A number of the other components only power down into a standby state and they too need to be switched off when not in use due to the age of the internal transformers. Q) Why don't I use an extension lead with a power switch A) This is easier for someone like me with a back problem - where bending down to flip a switch is not always possible all year round. Q) Why (fill in question here) A) Because I'm doing this instead. -------------SUPPORT--------------- This channel can be supported through Patreon https://www.patreon.com/techmoan Patrons usually have early access to videos ---------------SUBSCRIBE------------------ http://www.youtube.com/user/Techmoan?sub_confirmation=1 -------THANKS TO ------- Jerobeam Fenderson for the intro animation: http://oscilloscopemusic.com/ ----------Outro Music----------- Over Time - Vibe Tracks https://youtu.be/VSSswVZSgJw ------Outro Sound Effect------ ThatSFXGuy - https://youtu.be/5M3-ZV5-QDM ------AFFLIATED LINKS/ADVERTISING NOTICE------- All links are Affiliated where possible. Link to Part 1: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FyKRubB5N60 Also, since making this video, I've made a much more recent video on the Betamovie itself! Check it out here: https://youtu.be/a47kMoYkES0 The segment comparing the image quality between Beta and VHS was de-interlaced rather poorly by Premiere when rendering this video at 30p. Therefore, both formats look worse than they do in real life. The original footage is correctly interlaced at 60i, and in my upcoming video with simply that footage I will upload at 60p and hopefully it looks more like it does on my end. Trust me, they look pretty darn similar. Plus, that video contains more complex images to analyse the data a little more thoroughly, so stay tuned! Here's my long awaited sequel to my How to DIY polyurethane engine mounts video I made almost a year ago. That video got a lot a of views but it also raised two very important questions: 1. How have my DIY polyurethane engine mounts held up? 2. How do my DIY polyurethane engine mounts compare to stock ones? In this video I answer both of those questions. 1. Over the course of around 10 months and 1000 miles my polyurethane engine mounts have held up really well. They have not developed any cracks and are without faults. You can see a shot of them off the car towards the end of the video. Yay diy! 2. To compare my polyurethane engine mounts to the stock mounts I recorded vibration, noise and engine movement with the polyurethane engine mounts on the car and took a test drive. I then removed the polyurethane engine mounts, installed my stock engine mounts and then recorded vibration, noise, engine movement and took another test drive. You can see all the details in the video. Conclusion: Polyurethane engine mounts are great for cars that see a lot of track days, but for something that you are going to daily drive I honestly think that they are a bit too annoying. If your car will spend most of its life on public roads, I would advise against polyurethane engine mounts, since you will be experiencing their negatives most of the time and harnessing their benefits rarely. On the other hand if you have a weekend warrior or a track toy than polyurethane engine mounts are a great idea, because the noise and the vibration will be an unimportant side-effect and you will harness the benefits of a more agile car and a more responsive driving feeling. Today, I’m going to review the Orange Four, a single pivot aluminum trail bike with 120mm of travel. The Orange Four RS America https://aventuron.com/collections/bikes/products/orange-four-rs Europe https://www.orangebikes.co.uk/bikes/four-rs First, a side note. From this point on bikes that I’m borrowing will get a review. Bikes that are mine will get a bike check. As for this Orange Four, it was lent to me by Aventuron, the distributor for Orange Bikes in the Americas. the model they sent was the Four RS. I’m not going to get into the components much because they’re not what makes the Four unique. If you want to geek out over the details just check the link below. Like all full suspension bikes in the Orange lineup, the Four interfaces directly with the rear shock on a single pivot point. The only single pivot bikes I've tried were either antiques, or lower end. Not the Four. It’s an all new design, handbuilt, and not cheap. Orange claims that modern high end shocks don’t need complex linkage to perform well, and in fact, fans of these bikes say it makes them more playful and fun to ride. Critics say it’s inefficient, and that linkage can have a huge effect on pedal bob and climbing performance. Before I form an opinion I need to finish setting this bike up and get to the trails. To get to the singletrack I’ve got 5 miles of climbing to do on a paved greenway, which isn’t the best way to get to know a mountain bike. Still I can tell that the Four has a little more reach than I’m used to, as the seat tube is pitched back over the rear wheel. I was pleasantly surprised about the low standover height. Paired with a 150mm dropper post, I should be able to get real low on turns and hucks. Right now I have the luxury of locking out the suspension, but on the ridgeline I won’t have a chance to do that. There, we’ll get to see how this linkage performs when smashing on the pedals. I’m also excited to get up some speed, and see how the Four feels when things get steep. The four feels firm like an XC bike, but slack and spacious like a trail bike. This is what Orange intended. One thing’s for sure, it doesn’t climb like an XC bike. With the suspension unlocked the Four does have some pretty noticeable pedal bob, but then again it can only bob so much with 120 millimeters of travel. Not bad, not great. On descents, the Four feels stiff and mechanically sound. It’s playful, responsive, and agile. It gives you lots of—feedback. On the Four, it’s easy to get your weight over the back wheel and keep from going over the handlebars. At speed, it’s a blast. Just preload, flick your wrists, and it flies off any roller or lip you point it at. There’s something to be said for a 120 mill trail bike, but it comes at a cost. Mechanically, the Four has no problem handling chunky terrain, but your arms and hands might be another story. I had to dial back my speed more than usual on the really rocky stuff. Descending on the Four is a wild ride; It should be done with loose arms and legs, and with careful line selection. As for the linkage, I think the Orange die hards have some good points about it. It’s simple, and as a result there’s no slop. It’s springy and likes to pop off the ground. I’d actually like to take it on a ride with no backpack or gear weighing me down. All in all, I had a blast on the Four. It was really fun to ride, and if you get a chance to visit an Orange demo I highly recommend taking one for a spin. Still, on an all day epic with lots of different terrain I prefer a little more travel. The Four shines on flowy terrain with lots of high speed jumps. Hardtails also shine in this area, but if you prefer full suspension then the Four could be the bike for you. Like I said, get on one if you get the opportunity. What do you guys think? Not only about the Four, but short travel trail bikes. Is this a category that you’re interested in? Do you think the Four would be a good match for your trails? Let me know! Thanks for riding with me today, and I’ll see you next time.
