Operation Teapot was a series of fourteen nuclear test explosions conducted at the Nevada Test Site in the first half of 1955. It was preceded by Operation Castle, and followed by Operation Wigwam. Wigwam was, administratively, a part of Teapot, but it is usually treated as a class of its own. The aims of the operation were to establish military tactics for ground forces on a nuclear battlefield and to improve the nuclear weapons used for strategic delivery. Operation Teapot From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation_Teapot The U.S. conducted 210 atmospheric nuclear tests between 1945 and 1962, with multiple cameras capturing each event at around 2,400 frames per second. These are the declassified films of tests conducted by Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory.
DOS Extenders! Most of us are familiar with seeing DOS/4GW upon starting our favourite DOS games, but many of us didn't stop to think what this little "Dos Extender" did, or how it opened up a wealth of games for our protected mode systems. Of course many of us did, myself included, and like other Protected Mode Interfaces, DOS/4GW operated under the DPMI specification designed to allow the *new* 286 and 386 machines to make use of memory over 1MB. Before that Real Mode DOS applications could only make use of memory in the PC up to 1,024KB. This video explores the makeup of a PC memory, conventional memory, extended memory and the reasons behind the DOS Protected Mode Interface. ☟Sharing☟ If you wish to share this video in forums, social media, on your website, *please do so*! Operation TUMBLER-SNAPPER 1952 https://ntrl.ntis.gov/NTRL/dashboard/searchResults/titleDetail/ADA122242.xhtml Operation Tumbler-Snapper, a series of atmospheric nuclear weapons was conducted by the Atomic Energy Commission (AEC) at the Nevada Proving Ground (NPG) from 1 April to 5 June 1952. The operation consisted of eight nuclear detonations in two phases. The TUMBLER phase, of primary concern to the Department of Defense (DOD), consisted of four weapons effects tests, Shots ABLE, BAKER, CHARLIE, and DOG. These airdropped devices were detonated to collect information on the effect of the height of burst on overpressure. Shots CHARLIE and DOG were also part of the SNAPPER phase, of primary concern to the AEC and the Los Alamos Scientific Laboratory. The other weapons . development tests in the SNAPPER phase were Shots EASY, FOX, GEORGE, and HOW. The primary purpose of these four tower shots was to gather information on nuclear phenomena to improve the design of nuclear weapons.

Wondering why things haven't been the same lately? I've been busy, and here's why... This is my back deck. For the last two years we’ve done bike checks, experiments, and repairs here. This has sort of been like my workshop, except it’s extremely inconvenient for making videos. Early in the morning it sounds like this. At the drop of a hat it can sound like this. This glass patio table is the closest thing I have to a work bench. Let’s not forget about the bike storage problem. Pulling out 4 bikes just to ride 1 gets old fast. My wife and I have lived in this two bedroom townhouse for 3 years now, and we’re running out of space. Drama would also like a yard to pup around in. So a few months ago we started searching for a new home. Originally it was going to be in Florida, but after a lengthy search it was clear that our priorities had changed. I moved to Florida almost 5 years ago, and it was the perfect place for a work from home web developer. At the time, it never occurred to me that I’d be making a living mountain biking. Still, Florida has been pretty good to me. All the trails here are convenient and easy to film at. The builders here have made up for lack of elevation with ingenuity. When I’m not on the trails, it’s easy to find other fun things to make videos about. Still, it’s not quite ideal. Last summer we visited Alaska and the Yukon Territory. If it were up to my wife we’d move to the Yukon and become Canadians, but that’s not so practical although Drama is French. We even considered Bentonville, due to its low cost of living and amazing convenience. But Arkansas is too far from our friends and families. To many of you guys it’s obvious that I should just move out West, but that’s only taking one factor into account. We needed to balance priorities like cost of living, weather, natural beauty, ease of air travel, and proximity to friends and family. If only there were a beautiful, mountainous place, in a major metropolitan area, with its own airport, situated directly between Florida and New York. A place with relatively mild winters, and a significantly lower cost of living than Miami. It’s now official. Is it any surprise that we’re moving to Asheville? Thanks for riding with me today, and I’ll see you next time.

Here are 5 super useful tools for car guys. When I started out working on my car I was really stupid. Lost a lot of time figuring a lot of basic things out. The goal of this video is to save you that time by introducing you to 5 really great tools that will offer a lot of bang for your buck when it comes to servicing and fixing your car. Here's the list: 1. Magnetic trays. I just love these little things. Whenever you work on your car there's a high chance you will remove a bolt. There is also a high chance you will put that bolt somewhere stupid and waste time trying to find it. Not anymore. Spend a couple of bucks on a magnetic tray and your bolt troubles will be over. They want damage your car's paint and you can put them anywhere. 2. Head mounted lighting You need both of your hands when you're working around your car. So why not put that light source on your head and make sure the light is always directed wherever you need it. 3. Multi-meter Ever wondered if your air flow meter, or your MAF sensor, or your temperature sensor or any other sensor on your car is faulty? Don't waste money buying new parts just to test them out or going to the mechanic. Get your factory service manual, get your multimeter and solve that mystery. Your multi-meter can test almost any sensor on your car and tell you if it needs replacing or not. 4. Vice This is an obvious one, but you will realize how a big vice is useful only once you buy it and find yourself using it more often than you imagined. Don't be cheap and buy a small one. Small ones are useless. Get a big vice they cost more but they are worth it. 5. Air compressor This is a big ticket item, but you won't regret it. If you get a sufficiently large air compressor with enough horsepower, cfm and a big enough reservoir you will be able to sand blast, sodablast, spray paint, wash parts, clean parts, port and polish heads, bolt and unbolt things, inflate tires and many other things. An air compressor is an extremely versatile tool you will love. As we enter a season of DOS games, we find ourselves with Rise of the Triad. One of my favourite MS-DOS games, developed and distributed by Apogee in 1994 as a shareware release known as "Rise of the Triad: The Hunt Begins", swiftly followed by the retail edition "Rise of the Triad: Dark War" distributed through Apogee's shareware model and by FormGen. In this episode we look at the origins of the game, how it began as Wolfenstein 3D Part 2; a Wolfenstein 3D sequel and changed into something much bigger. We look at the team involved, the stories behind the development and what happened after the game launched. We also take a thorough look at the game itself. The quirks. The "remote ridicules", the gibs, the endless blood soaked gibs, the crazy weapons such as the "Drunk Missle" and the crazy levels and quirks that made Rise of the Triad such an amazing DOS game in the mid 90s. ☟Sharing☟ If you wish to share this video in forums, social media, on your website, *please do so*! What appears to be little patch of gravel on your GoPro could actually be a rock garden. A lot of you guys wanted to see more clips like that, so today we’ll be watching more of the same. Here’s a skinny line as shot from my chest cam. Here’s the same line with the camera pointed down. And here’s what it would look like to a bystander, as shot from my Sony Camcorder. Last time we saw this drop from two different perspectives, and it was clear that the GoPro hid its true size. Here’s that same drop with Phil up ahead. These wooden rollers are steep in some spots, and make for interesting follow cam footage. Although the camcorder does a better job of capturing the scene, I like the follow cam a lot. Let’s try cutting them together. Here’s another wooden feature known as the Vortex. Here’s a really interesting line. In dense vegetation, it’s harder to find an angle that accurately represents a feature, but with some creativity you can get a cool looking shot anyway. This bunny hop gap was a mess, but this shot makes it look like a jungle. This wooden feature is called—banana hammock. You know, like a hammock for bananas to sleep in. Let’s see this one cut together. This nose bonk was one of Phil’s ideas. This drop looks like it was once active, but with the tree and shrubbery grown in it’s kind of sketchy. Since it’s a blind drop, Phil is marking it off with some sticks. I hope you enjoyed watching these shots as much as we enjoyed getting them. If you’re filming your own rides I think the key takeaway here is that things always look better from multiple angles. Even if you can pepper in other angles here and there, it’ll make your video much more interesting to watch. If you want to see more collaborations with Phil, check the playlist in the description. Thanks for riding with me today and I’ll see you next time.

I explain the mass defect of an atom here, instead of the nucleus, because you have probably studied Bohr's theory and it is easy to grasp this first. We will eventually lead up to the Nuclear Mass defect. Follow me at www.facebook.com/FloatHeadPhysix

Einstein solved the discrepancy of the nuclear mass by invoking one of the most famous physics equations. E = mc2. We will try to understand the real meaning of this equation with some examples. Is mass additive in nature? An easy question to answer you think right? If there is anything that nuclear physics has taught us about mass, is that, mass is not we think it is. We have been taking it way too much for granted. It's time to face the reality. Follow me on www.facebook.com/FloatHeadPhysix
Regardless of how good your optic lens system is, you can never ever infinitely keep resolving things. In other words, you can never ever see or image anything with 100% clarity. This is due to the fact, that light is a wave. Today we investigate what affects the maximum clarity you can get from a microscope. Thus you will be able to understand some salient features of the world's best microscopes. P.S. I uploaded this on request by one of our followers. This is a simple derivation of the electric field on the equator of a dipole. The field far away resembles very much like that of the field on the axis. Dipoles are special. Love them, care about them, they are special!
In this episode of Riding with Seth, I follow Phil down Kitsuma mountain bike trail in Asheville (Black mountain). Phil can react and take turns faster than most riders, so he left a wake of destruction behind him as we struggled to keep up. Overall it was a fun morning. There will be more videos from my collaboration with Phil, and some special developments related to my trip to Asheville! Stay tuned. I've realized over the years is that it is one thing to learn a scale or arpeggio on the neck of the guitar, it's another thing to actually be able to successfully use it in an improvisation. This week I talk about my approach to pick up a new shape and get over this hurdle. Doom 1993 underwent various iterations before it ended in version 1.9 with the Ultimate Doom, but versions before 1.4 hold somewhat of a secret... well, actually it's an easter egg, or a homage to Wolfenstein 3D. In the control room on E1M4 there is a Swastika which emerges from the ceiling. From 1.4 onwards, this was replaced with a less Adolf like shape. So in this video, I thought I'd share this little homage with you quickly, and then I talk about some of the errors in each of the early versions of Doom. It's not a long video. ☟Sharing☟ If you wish to share this video in forums, social media, on your website, *please do so*! Attaching my Iron Man Exo Power Suit backpack to the legs and making it stable enough to walk in, and the motors aren't even running yet!. This feels pretty awesome and looks like it's going to work. The Iron Man Exo Suit electronics will be Arduino based, lots of the mechanics are 3D printed and made from wood and steel!. I hope you enjoy part 8 of building the real Iron Man Exo Suit. ① GENIUS No MacArthur grant yet.
