We always think of animal sacrifice as an ancient ritual, but many people still practice it today. This sparked some controversy in Florida in the late 1980s, leading to a landmark Supreme Court decision in Lukumi Babalu Aye, Inc. v. Hialeah. This case still influences religious freedom law today, even being cited in the courts' decisions to strike down President Donald Trump's so-called Muslim Ban. I know. I'm crazy right? A Y2K/Millennium bug test, SEVENTEEN years after the event. What crazy occurrences could lay in wait? Maybe an exploding computer? Maybe a dormant TERROR Virus... We all have a box, bin, or pile of stuff left over from old bikes. Gotta save these long ass stems, I might need one of them someday! There are other things we need to restock, like tape, oil, zip ties, and stuff like that. Today we’ll take a look at my parts bin, my supplies, and a few other fun things. First, let’s look at the stuff that gets used every time I set up a new bike. In this box I keep my zip ties—lots of different colored zip ties. These get used mainly for securing cables, and it’s always more fun to have a choice of colors. The same goes for electrical tape. Although I don’t use this as much, it comes in handy on project bikes, and for securing the bar tape on road bikes. Also in this box are different colored cable ends, and assorted housing ends. You can’t have enough of these. When setting up a new bike I usually take a few stem spacers out, so there are quite a few leftovers in here. Still they’re worth saving just in case. One thing I’m running low on are volume reducers. I have some Rockshox ones left, and I’m fresh out of Fox. If it has to do with securing cables, detailing, or keeping the little things in tip top shape, it’s in this box. This bin here is for hoarding parts. It’s surprising how often I do need this stuff, but a lot of it will live in this box for eternity. When I finally do get a house with a garage, it’ll be nice to have spare parts for project bikes. These may be the cheapest pedals on the planet, and honestly I can’t remember why I got them. This is my old Bionicon C-guide, and a new chain guide that came with the P7. Here’s a brake handle, a mechanical disc brake, and a disc. This chainring is meant to be used on a two by, and I had bought it by mistake a few years back. This MRP bash ring would be great on a project bike, or maybe a street mountain bike. Here are the BMX pegs that came with my SE every day. I should just put them on the back of the Fat Ripper for passengers. Two relatively unused lock on grips? Not sure where they came from, but I’ll need them! I even have seat posts, a seat, various seat collars, a bottle cage, a bottom bracket spacer, qr skewers, a dropper post remote, chainring hardware, and a brand new 16 tooth freewheel. Strung together with a zip tie are a whole bunch of cassette spacers and sprockets. This bin used to have twice as much crap in it, but I cleaned it out recently and donated a bunch of stuff. It’ll be interesting to see what actually gets used in the future. This next bin is for maintenance supplies. I have a couple of tubes as backups, and some patch kits. I keep tire sealant and oil in this bin as well. This is a Sram and Avid bleed kit, which is sort of in the tool category. Still the fluid is expendable so I keep it here. For Shimano you can just use stuff around your kitchen and it’ll work fine. So that’s a quick overview of my parts bin and supplies. When I do get my garage I’ll store rolls of cable and housing, along with some others goodies that I don’t have the space for. I do want to show you guys one more thing which I’m keeping with my supplies. As a YouTuber I get press kits from time to time, and this one from Slime really got my attention. It’s like a little tool box with samples of their new tubeless stuff. I haven’t used any of it yet, but I’m impressed with the presentation. Not only is there a bunch of sealant in a coozie, but there’s rim tape, valve stems, a USB stick with images, and even a valve wrench. The next time I mount some tires, we’ll try all this stuff out. If it can plug holes without adding glitter then I’ll let you guys know. Like I said, a garage is happening soon, but for now it’s this little closet and a storage unit. How about you guys? I know a lot of you are hoarding bike parts in your sheds and basements. Let me know what you’ve got laying around. Thanks for riding with me today, and I’ll see you next time. Are we both losing our minds? Is the only reason you're holding me tonight 'Cause we're scared to be lonely? Do we need somebody Just to feel like we're alright? Is the only reason you're holding me tonight 'Cause we're scared to be lonely? Too much time, losing track of us Where was the real? This week I talk about how to turn 7th arpeggio shapes into a useful set of 2 octave string tapped shapes by taking advantage of the structure of the original pattern. Orange America: http://aventuron.com/products/orange-p7-rs?variant=26315412161 Orange UK: http://orangebikes.co.uk/bikes/p7-rs Today, I’ll be doing a bike check on my Orange P7RS. I’ll show you the bike in detail, give you my opinion on it, and explain what makes it different from other bikes. Judging from the comments, it’s clear that a lot of you love the way my P7 looks. I’m glad to hear that because I spent about a week cycling through the colors before reaching the point of no return. One of the reasons the P7 looks so striking is because it’s made of chromoly, or steel. Steel bikes have skinny tubing, which gives them that simple, bold, and classic look. But steel isn’t all about the looks. Steel bike frames absorb vibrations, which in many cases your tires and suspension can’t. Creaking, cracking, clicking, whatever—you just don’t feel it on a steel bike, which makes it great for hardtails. You still get the response and rigidity you’d expect, but it doesn’t feel as harsh. Typically you would expect steel to be heavier than aluminum or carbon, and yeah that’s usually true. To get the weight down, you need really good steel, and it ain’t cheap. You’ll usually get a lighter bike for the money with carbon or aluminum, but steel isn’t about weight, it’s about…steel. You need to ride one to understand. So we’ve established that the P7 is made of steel, and that steel is dope, but the most important thing about any bike is the geometry. It’s the one thing you can’t change. I must admit that the geometry on the P7 is great for some things and not so great for others. Just look at how Orange has categorized it: Hardcore hardtail. With a super slack head angle, low center of gravity, and long reach, the P7 is made to plow through everything in its path. Its angles are so radical that the P7 actually hindered in some ways, but that’s okay when you’re looking for a bike with certain characteristics. Let me give you a few examples. One notable characteristic of the P7 is its low center of gravity, which provides stability. The P7 is really stable, whether you’re railing corners or drifting around on gravel. The downside? It’s a pedal smacker. I’ve gotten used to it and can keep my pedals out of the way now, but on rocky pedaly sections it can be a challenge to navigate. Another characteristic of the P7 is the longish wheelbase and reach. This also makes the bike very stable, especially on steep descents, however it also makes it more difficult to bunnyhop. I’m confident that with a little more practice I’ll be able hop on to a picnic table with it, but for now I can’t quite clean it. A lot of you have said that the P7 looks like it would be great for jumping. It is, but not in the way that you would think. I’ve used the word “stable” to describe the P7, and that’s how it feels in the air. No matter how fast or sketchily you’re jumping or hucking, the P7 pretty much goes into autopilot mode and lands fine. That’s the best way I can describe it. To me, shorter bikes with higher bottom brackets are more prone to botched landings, but they’re also way easier to boost and throw around in the air. Depending on your riding style, mood, or choice of trail, you may prefer one or the other. So I’ve spent a lot of time talking about how the P7 feels, but not a lot about the components. You can order it in quite a few different configurations, with the P7 RS at the top. It’s got a Rockshox pike, Sram XO drivetrain, Guide brakes, yada yada yada they’re amazing. You can look it up. Let’s talk about the notable component choices. First of all the Hope hubs are not a very common sight in the USA. The cassette sounds wonderful. Also, it comes with Maxxis High Roller EXO tires. These are really good tires with really strong sidewalls, which the most abusive of riders will greatly appreciate. Something I’ve never seen before were these Renthal grips. They’re ridiculously grippy, and feel great with gloves. If you go bare handed though they feel really gummy and it kind of freaks me out. Finally the P7RS comes with a chain guide. I haven’t installed it, and haven’t needed it. I guess it would add an extra measure of reliability. Otherwise, I just like riding my P7. There are days when I just really feel like being on a hardtail, and if it’s singletrack I’m riding then the P7 is an easy choice. It’s comfortable for long distances, and it can handle just about anything. So that’s my P7. Before you ask about anything, check the description for links. I’ve got some big plans for this bike in the spring, since a lot of you guys have been asking what a hardtail can actually take. I’d like to demonstrate that. Until then, thanks for riding me today and I’ll see you next time.

Original video where we crashed the premieres of Arrival and La La Land: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RElmOeyx7Fk Thomas' instagram: https://www.instagram.com/thomasbrag/ Back in November we crashed the premieres of Arrival and La La Land who are both nominated for Best Picture at the Oscars 2017. Here's how we did it. But remember, the point of this is NOT to ruin anyone's night or make fun of anybody. Many seats at these Hollywood premieres are empty so we thought we'd take the opportunity to fill some of them! Welcome to the first of a potentially new series (which may appeal to those seeking sleep, and which i may rename "sleep therapy"), where I read excerpts of old technology books. In this inaugural episode I'm reading an extract from "The Internet, The Rough Guide 2000" by Angus J. Kennedy (You'll notice I call him "Agnus" in the video... FML). This extract is regarding Usenet News Groups or Discussion Groups. Spark plug gap tool I used: https://amzn.to/35KDLFh Alternative tool: https://amzn.to/33Eycqg Yet another tool option: https://amzn.to/32pHRAz Gapping your spark plugs to the correct factory specified gap is essential to help your engine achieve proper combustion. An incorrect spark plug gap can lead to a loss of power, engine hesitation when under power, rough idle and misfiring. Adjusting your spark plug gap is super easy and you can do it yourself with just a single tool and a set of spark plugs. There are essentially three different types of spark plug gapping tools, the coin style gap tool, the wire or wire gauge style gap tool and the feeler gauge style gap tool. Of these three using the coin style gap tool is not recommended because it can easily damage electrodes and break the tips of fine wire spark plugs. A few notes before adjusting your spark plug gap. First of all do not attempt to adjust the gap on used spark plugs, only adjust new spark plug. The other thing is that modified engines where compression has been increased or a turbo or supercharger has been added the spark plug gap needs to be reduced. As a general rule of thumb reduce the gap by 0.004 inches or 0.1mm for every 50 horsepower you add to the engine. Adjusting the gap is super easy. You use the gauges to measure your gap and bend the electrode to increase the gaps using the ends of the wire gauge gap tool. Reducing the spark plug gap is even easier, you simply press the spark plug onto a hard flat surface, or the tool itself, gently and easily to reduce the gap. In case your spark plug gap factory specifications are not listed on the gauges of your gap tool you can use a feeler gauge to correctly measure and adjust the gap. Before Soundcards were common place, many of us had to make do with the PC Speaker for sound effects on our IBM PC Compatibles. Some games utilised this limited medium to good effect, but Windows was always still lacking in sound. That is, until Microsoft developed the PC Speaker Audio driver for Windows. This allows Waveform sound to be played through the PC Speaker in Windows, so you could hear the fabulous startup sounds of Windows 3.1 and Windows 95. You could also play your various audio files, and even MIDI files (debatable). So I thought we could have a listen and compare how PC Speaker WAVE files sound compare to Soundblaster driven counterparts (it's not great). Also, we take a look at a few games and the software innovations which allowed some impressive use of the PC Speaker, in a bid to keep up with the Amigas and Atari STs of the rapidly moving world. ☟Sharing☟ If you wish to share this video in forums, social media, on your website, *please do so*! Angular momentum is a conserved quantity. Let's see what it means. You may already know how force and momentum are connected to each other. There is a similar connection that exists between angular momentum and torque. But why do we define this new thing called angular momentum? What's it got to do with rotation? It's all got to do with conservation. Angular momentum is a super useful concept because it is a conserved quantity. That's exactly what we will see in this video. Bonus, this video is especially for my Indian bros and sisters. It's in Hindi. Actually, I made this video for the selection process of Khan Academy. Listening to my Hindi, it's no surprise I got rejected for Hindi production. Also, it would be awesome if you tell what more topics you would want to see videos on!
We are defining angular momentum here.

'[The British Museum’s] collection of lesbian and gay badges is not widely known, but is kept in the butch Coins and Medals section just to the left of those very interestingly painted Greek vases.’ – ‘100 years of CAMP BADGES at the British Museum’, Pride programme (1987). For the past 35 years Philip Attwood, Keeper of Coins and Medals, has been collecting badges for the British Museum. In his episode of Curator’s Corner, Philip shows off some of the 400 or so LGBTQ badges now held in the British Museum. These badges document crucial turning points in gay and lesbian history, and include many of the symbols and slogans used during LGBTQ demonstrations and Pride celebrations e.g. the pink triangle, the lambda and the rainbow. As part of the British Museum collection these badges will be kept as a record of the socio-political history of the LGBTQ community.
