Subscribe for weekly videos! It had to be done! wiring up a 2000 Volt Jacobs Ladder to a drum pad to make it musical! kind of sounds like a special effects crash or something. but With ADDED SPARKS. Built from a microwave. and some tinfoil. its definately a bit of a hack. and tends to overheat and smoke! wait for the end to see the fireworks. completely live. on a home built Modular synth... the drum pads on the top trigger kick and snare. and 2 completely seperate synth voices for each of the 2 synth notes. these go into an arduino powered beat recorder. so only had to play the riff once and it automatically records it and re plays it, planning on doing a how to of that soon for people who want to build one. ran out of drum pads so used 2 toy drums with piezo mics glues onto them. there is a footswitch too which turns on an extra channel which the bass goes through an electro harmonix POG and some distortion for extra dynamic bits. middle part is just a delay that one of the toy drum pads was going through. the great thing with the pt2399 delay is it stops working if the voltage goes too low. so the extreme end of the knob twist just shuts down the delay, making it great to turn on and off quickly and easily. The Jacobs ladder was just mic'd up. tried keeping it as far away from the modular as possible to isolate the awesome sound it makes. but inevitably theres some bleed from the noise drum pads. Building a combinational logic circuit to decode 8 bits and display a 3-digit decimal number on 7-segment displays is complex. In this video, I build something much simpler—a circuit that decodes 4 bits to a one-digit hexadecimal display—and even that's pretty complicated. In future videos, we'll look at much easier ways of doing this, which we'll use for our computer's output register and then as a key element of the control logic. Support me on Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/beneater You don't really want to build this do you? If you do, you'll need some breadboards, 5x 74LS32s, 9x 74LS08s, 1x 74LS04, 1x common anode 7-segment display, 1x 100Ω resistor for the display, some DIP switches, LEDs, and 1k pullup resistors for the input, and hours of podcasts or something to keep you from losing your mind. :) If you do build this, you'll _really_ appreciate the elegance of the next few videos.
In this series, we'll explore the complex landscape of machine learning and artificial intelligence through one example from the field of computer vision: using a decision tree to count the number of fingers in an image. Before Contra, there were various games I imagine, but after Contra, came Gryzor. Gryzor is as it happens, the same as Contra, just with a name change. It was the name provided for 8 bit ports of Konami's arcade classic in European regions. To that end, Commodore 64, MSX, Spectrum and indeed, Amstrad owners should be familiar with Gryzor, and how it compares to Contra. For CPC owners, Gryzor is a real treat for the senses and really shows what the 8 bit machine is capable of. ☟Sharing☟ If you wish to share this video in forums, social media, on your website, *please do so*! Moon River by Henry Mancini and Johnny Mercer is one of those songs that I couldn't get out of my head. Especially the Audrey Hepburn version from "Breakfast at Tiffanys". Application: https://www.sethsbikehacks.com/win-seths-bike-contest/ This is the 2017 Release 3 you're getting: http://www.diamondback.com/shop/bikes/mountain/all-mountain/full-suspension/release/release-3 Original Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rvCmsurC-50 Deadline is the 20th if you're 5'7 or below Deadline is the 25th if you're 5"8 or above If you're in between, round up. A few days ago I announced a video contest where the winner would get my full suspension mountain bike. If you didn’t see that video the link is in the description. As of now the contest is still going on. I’ve already accepted hundreds of applications, and rejected many more. The most common reason for rejection? No video. A lot of people complained that they couldn’t make a video because of the big snowstorm in the Northeast. That didn’t stop this guy. Or this guy. In fact a lot of people had snow days and used the time off of work or school to their advantage. Some people told me they didn’t have a camera. This might be the worst excuse. If you don’t have a camera surely you know someone with a cell phone, tablet or laptop, all of which have cameras. If nobody is willing to lend you one then chances are you’re not very trustworthy. Other people complained that they didn’t know how to make a video, but that’s also a crappy excuse. You can’t do anything if you don’t try, and a good place to start is Google. This contest inspired a lot of people to post their first videos and even start their own YouTube channels. Another bad excuse was not having a bike. This poor guy was packing up to go to the bike park on his carbon full suspension office chair. Application accepted. So the reason I spent the last minute talking about who got rejected is because a lot of you guys have gone to great lengths to submit videos. Instead of looking for excuses, you looked only for solutions. Instead of saying I can’t, you learned something new. In life, you don’t win or earn anything by showing up and saying “I can’t”. If you’ve already exhibited a defeatist attitude during the application process, then how can we expect you to maintain a mountain bike? What will you do if you break a derailleur hanger? Will you also say “I cant” and put the bike in your shed forever. None of us want to see that, so the winners will be go getters with can-do attitudes. Wait did I just say winner(s)? If you remember, I only accepted applications from people 5’ 7” or below, because my bike is a small and it needs to go to someone who can fit on it. So understandably a lot of you guys were kinda bummed out, but you took it in stride. You understood my predicament, and even gave your best wishes to the people who were eligible. Well today everything changes. I asked my friends at Diamondback if there was anything they could do, and they said hell yes. For the next 7 days I’m accepting applications from people 5’ 8” and taller. One of you will win a brand new 2017 Release 3 courtesy of Diamondback. It may not be my personal bike you’re getting, but who are we kidding here? this is awesome! As for my international subscribers who make up 65% of my audience, you’ll have your day. Once this contest is over I need to go back to making normal videos for a bit, and then I’ll start scheming as to how to hook you guys up. As for everyone who just became eligible, it’s time to get to work! In the end there will be a first and second place winner, both of which will get bikes. The shorter person will get my personal bike, and the taller person will get the same bike in their size from Diamondback. Every bit of info you could possibly want is in the description, including the specs on the bike and the link to sign up. I need to get back to reviewing applications, so thanks for riding with me today and I’ll see you next time.

(Reply) Yep...that's why I mentioned it - I just thought it was an interesting fact worth sharing that (according to the label on this disc) it appears the film was still known as 'Revenge' in Japan despite the name change. Volume Large Dog - Thanks to helpful Japanese fluent viewers - it seems that the translation app mis-read the symbol for Big as Dog 犬 = Dog 大 = Big Thanks again to these clever people in the comments - the text on side two of the disc that was blank and inaccurately translated to "from been no", actually says "Shuuroku sarete orimasen", meaning "No recording" Star Wars (again) - back to the Comic Book Guy voice... 'Well actually you can only see Star Wars in it's un-ruined original version on LaserDisc and VHD, so when you say that these formats aren't really worth watching any more you couldn't be any more wrongerer actually. A) I'll let you in on the secret (that any true Star Wars fan should already know)...Look up "Harmy's Despecialized" - now That is the best way to see the original unchanged Star Wars...not in a 250 line low-res washed out 4:3 crop with Japanese subtitles. Q) Whats on the blank side of the disc? A) Interesting fact (but not interesting enough for me to include in the video despite shooting it)...the end of the caddy that goes in the machine has a series of notches on it that tells the machine what way up the caddy is and whether it contains a single or double sided discs. So if you get a disc like the magazine that only has one side, the machine refuses to let you insert side B. Also the machine will not let you put a disc back in the caddy the wrong way up, it only ejects when the caddy is the right way up. Like I said, not interesting enough for the video, but still a neat system. In comparison the RCA CED had no caddy orientation system so you could mess things up royally if you really wanted to. (Comment) Those monitors aren't cheap. A) I must have got lucky - mine cost about £100 (C) Blimey that's not cheap A) It is compared to the original price Q) "YOU ARE WRONG - BACK TO THE FUTURE WAS CROPPED FOR CINEMA RELEASE - IT SHOULD NOT BE SEEN IN A FULL FRAME VERSION" A) A lot of movies of this period were shot open matte in Super 35. They were cropped to a widescreen format to be shown in the cinema and then when shown on 4:3 TV screens, they often used the full open-matte frame which revealed more footage at the top and the bottom of the frame. So both versions are right, neither is wrong. Each serves a purpose. It's just that nowadays most of these old films will only be shown in their cropped versions given the proliferation of 16:9 screens in the home. ----INTERACTIVE VHD---- If you want to see some footage from the interactive VHD titles, just search for MSX VHD on YouTube...but here's one example https://youtu.be/yALEzUSQtWE If you want to see a capture of the Rainbow Disc animation https://youtu.be/Edr-iNRjzUs and here's a short clip from Starview HCT-5808 https://youtu.be/oPBuwgw1zIA
Declassified video of 1961 crash scene of a B-52 Stratofortress near Yuba City, California. National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) Film Catalog number 342.USAF.27815; Department of Energy TF 0800082 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1961_Yuba_City_B-52_crash On 14 March 1961 an aircraft accident occurred near Yuba City, California. A United States Air Force B-52F-70-BW Stratofortress bomber, AF Serial No. 57-0166, c/n 464155, carrying two nuclear weapons departed from Mather Air Force Base near Sacramento. According to the official USAF report, the aircraft experienced an uncontrolled decompression that required it to descend to 10,000 feet (3,000 m) in order to lower the cabin altitude. Increased fuel consumption caused by having to fly at lower altitude, combined with the inability to rendezvous with a tanker in time caused the aircraft to run out of fuel. The aircrew ejected safely, and then the unmanned aircraft crashed 15 miles (24 km) west of Yuba City, tearing the nuclear weapons from the aircraft on impact. Dynamite Dan for the Sinclair Spectrum is the game which I remember most vividly from my childhood. Released in 1985 by Mirrorsoft and coded by Rod Bowkett. This crazy, British game is filled with colourful sprites of wonder and glee, including snails, mermaids, lobster things, and other strange creations. There are also teleporters, lasers, trampolines and the evil Dr. Blitzen who holds the secret documents to build a death ray deep in his vault. It is your task to collect sticks of dynamite, blow the safe and escape with said documents to thwart the evil doctor's plans. How to install a derailleur: https://youtu.be/BTYPHGWDE6E?list=PL5... Fix wonky shifting: https://youtu.be/Kx3qcuvJxUs?list=PL5... Cutters: http://amzn.to/2kUcGtQ Third Hand (cable puller): http://amzn.to/2krEuXY Today, we’re going to learn how to change a gear cable. There are many reasons why you would do this. Gear cables wear out, get kinked, and stop working smoothly after a while. The reason I’m changing mine today is a bit more—complex. When I got this bike the dropper cable was routed to the left side of the frame and the gear cable was run to the right. This made the cables rub on the head tube and it didn’t look neat, and it was freaking me out man! Obsessing over things like this is just a sign that you love you bike, so today I’ll be installing a longer cable so I can route it the way I like.e Let’s do a general overview of the process and then talk details. First, shift your bike into the smallest gear and bring your barrel adjuster all the way in. Loosen the clamp on the derailleur, and remove your old cable. You’ll need to knock this cap off or cut the end to get it through. Up at the shifter you’ll need to find the access port, which is sometimes shielded with a cap. The cable should come out with a metal stop on the end. Most of you are going to be changing your cable and your housing, so it would be a good idea to pick up a pair of cable cutters. You can use end nippers or dykes but, these are much easier. You can use your old housing as a guide, but if you’re changing something else on the bike like your bars or your derailleur, you may need to dry fit it to determine the length. That’s what I’m doing. Here, I’m fitting it into the shifter, making a nice wide bend, and trying to match the length of the brake hose to keep things neat. As I run the cable, I’m keeping in mind that too long is better than too short. We can always go back and cut it more. Once I’m happy with the length, I can cut the housing and ONLY the housing. Don’t cut the cable until the very end. To read the rest of the transcript, please turn on closed captions.

Srećko Horvat, a Croat philosopher, Elif Shafak, renowned Turkish novelist, and Yanis Varoufakis, Greece’s former finance minister, bring to this conversation an intriguing perspective. As intellectuals who know Britain well, they understand first hand the perils of nationalism, disintegration, isolationism and marginalisation. They place post-Brexit Britain in a context informed by a view of Europe and Britain from the continent’s opposite ‘corner’, sharing insights from Greece’s tensions with Brussels and Berlin, Yugoslavia’s disintegration, and Turkey’s fraught relationship with a Europe that both courts and marginalises it. Well over a month ago, I installed the Box One Derailleur and shifter on my mountain bike. I made a video showing my first impression, and now I’ve spent some time actually riding it. So this video is about my experiences, observations, and opinions on the Box One, 1x11 drivetrain. Let’s start with pricing. At $250, the Box One is not cheap. Both Sram and Shimano have several products below this price point, all of which perform extremely well. Of course, Box is new to the drivetrain market and it’ll be a while before they reach the economies of scale their competitors have. Early adopters understand this, and they’re willing to shell out a couple of extra dollars to support new technology. So although the competing products are of better value, I think the Box One is priced fairly. Moving on to shift quality By this, I mean the ability to precisely and reliably shift gears. Honestly, I’ve never used anything that shifts better than the Box One, only as good or worse. Quite a few people tried my bike in the last month, and all of them said “wow” when they pressed the trigger. In terms of shifting quality, the BoxOne is on par with the very best products ever made. So, what about chain retention? Sigh….. Before we go into this, note that Box recommends a chain guide. Personally, I think that a narrow wide chainring and a good derailleur should be enough, but it’s possible that Box Designed this specifically to work with chain guides. I’ve been running it without one though and so far I’ve dropped two chains. Strangely it was while riding chattery XC trails, and not stuff like this. Can we chalk this up to bad luck? I don’t know, maybe it depends on your particular bike or chain line, but even my modestly priced Sram GX almost never drops chains. I can only go by my own experience. Let’s move on to the shifter This is the big difference you’ll find between Box and their competition. The same lever is pushed forwards to shift down, and laterally to shift up. This is pretty novel, and I’ve gotten quite used to it. With that said, I do still prefer Sram and Shimano. I have somewhat stubby thumbs, so it takes slightly more effort for me to shift the Box. This is a personal preference, and I’d like to reinforce that the action and shift quality is remarkably good. Another plus about the Push Push shifter is how easy it is to service. All the internals drop out in one piece for cleaning, which is extremely novel. So, I give the lever high marks. It’s just not for me. I also want to talk about ease of installation. Here, the Box is pretty much tied with its competitors. It was very easy to get the cable into the shifter, and quite obvious how to adjust the derailleur. Nothing much to report on here. The only thing I would note is that you need to take off your grip to access the shifter. On to durability. In the last month I haven’t needed to replace a derailleur hanger, so it’s fair to say that my Box derailleur hasn’t taken any major impacts. With that said, I would venture to say that it’s extremely durable. It’s no featherweight, and every part on it is made of either metal or a nylon/carbon fiber composite. I just don’t see this thing breaking, but I can’t speak from experience. Lastly, cool factor Yes, this is important. I think most of us like gear, and when something is novel or unique it can be a plus. The Box One is super cool. Besides the fact that most people haven’t seen one, the shifter has kind of cool retro design to it. I had a conversation with everyone who noticed it, and many of them were super excited that someone else was making drivetrains. Save for a gearbox or belt drive, you’d be hard pressed to find a drivetrain with a bigger cool factor than the Box One. So in summary, let’s look at the pros and cons The pros are: Superb shifting quality, a novel shifter with user serviceable internals, a robust build, and significant cool factor. The cons are: it’s kinda pricey, it has questionable chain retention, it’s kind of bulky, and people with stubby thumbs may not like it. So, if you’re an early adopter, or you just like the idea of supporting a new entrant to the drivetrain market, the Box One might be for you. You’ll be getting a very well built derailleur and shifter with accuracy that rivals anything else out there. You’ll also be supporting a company that clearly keeps its ears to the trails, and delivers features that riders want. On the other hand if you’re looking for great shifting on a budget with no surprises, you just can’t beat Sram or Shimano. Their prices are too good, and their products have years of proven reliability. On a final note I’d like to point out is that this is Box’s first mass market drivetrain, and they got so many things so right. If Box was able to build this on their first try, then just imagine what they’ll accomplish next time. What do you guys think? Let me know in the comments. Thanks for riding with me today, and I’ll see you next time.

Are we both losing our minds? Is the only reason you're holding me tonight 'Cause we're scared to be lonely? Do we need somebody Just to feel like we're alright? Is the only reason you're holding me tonight 'Cause we're scared to be lonely? Scared to be lonely Even when we know it's wrong Been somebody better for us all along Tell me, how can we keep holding on? Holding on tonight 'Cause we're scared to be lonely Even when we know it's wrong Been somebody better for us all along Tell me, how can we keep holding on? Holding on tonight 'Cause we're scared to be lonely Is it just our bodies? Are we both losing our minds? Is the only reason you're holding me tonight 'Cause we're scared to be lonely? Scared to be lonely Scared to be lonely Eh, eh, scared to be lonely
https://www.sethsbikehacks.com/win-seths-bike-contest/ The stem cap at the end: http://www.bikelangelo.com/Seths-Bike-Hacks_p_81.html Since October, I’ve been riding the Diamondback Release 3 as my main trail bike. It’s fair to say that I haven’t given it any mercy. Aside from the Box One Derailleur and Shifter, which I’ve been testing, the bike is totally original with no parts replaced. It shows. The rims are dented, there are scratches all over it, but I assure you it cleans up really nice. Despite the fact that my bike looks and work well, it’s being replaced today—by the 2017 model. It’s pretty much the same bike, save for some minor changes in the frame and a different color scheme. We’ll assemble this in a different video, but for now I need to find a home for my old bike. That’s right, I’m gonna send this to someone. Now before you jump into the comments and shout me me me me me! Please be aware that this proves to me and everyone else that you’re a lazy person who likes to cut corners. Whoever wins this bike will have submitted an application and followed the instructions. Before we get into the application process, I have some bad news; you’re probably not eligible. First of all this bike is a small, so I’m not giving it to anyone taller than 5’ 7”. That’s not all. This next part really makes me sad but I can’t send it to anyone outside of the USA because of logistics. Someday I promise to do something really cool for my international subscribers, but in this case I need to be 110% sure that this package gets to its destination safely. So if you’re 5’ 7” or shorter and live in the USA, you can apply via the link in the description. The application has a written portion and a video. I’ll be using the best of these videos on my channel, so we can all decide who deserves the bike. You get extra points for creativity, and super duper extra points for showing us how you’ve been making the best of your current bike. Lastly, this video is staying on YouTube indefinitely, so check the date. You might be getting excited for a contest that happened last year. So that’s it! The rest of the info is in the link. This is going to be a lot of fun. We’ll get to see some of the best applications, and you guys are going to help me decide on a winner. When the bike is sent off it will be in perfect working order, totally cleaned up and ready to rock. Not only will the winner be getting a serious mountain bike, they’ll be getting a piece of YouTube history. Thanks for riding with me today, and I’ll see you next time.

Two handed tapping is a great fun guitar technique, but it has it's own set of problems and challenges. This simple Two Handed Tapping exercise using 3 note per string scales is a great way of building a solid flexible technique that will move all over the guitar neck. I also include some useful advice about string control so you are less reliant on hair bands and string mufflers to manage unwanted string noise.
