Subscribe for new videos!. a christmas tree thats been turning into a keyboard? with the baubles as keys? a train that triggers sleigh bell sounds and a circuit bent santa singing jingle bells? its obvious this TOTP2 christmas special is roaming down the cheesy side of christmas. but thats the way it should be! the keyboard was made by wrapping baubles in tinfoil and attaching them to a Bare Conductive TOUCH BOARD. to trigger the synth.......... was gunna go silent night but that needed 9 notes... we ran out of baubles :O. the train was only 6 quid from Poundstretcher stretcher so we made use of it, the trains battery was wired to a tinfoil bauble on its chimney which when it goes past tinfoil icicles dancing above it it makes contact and triggers a nice old sleigh bell sound..... lovely the circuit bent santa was a bit of a dodgy one, as it had hardly any electronics inside it! but that was easily solved by a 1k potentiometer between the positive terminal of the battery and the sound chip board!. it also has a trigger in, turning it on momentarily just to say HO. but after we pulled down the set, we realised we didn't actually record that bit... oops. if you are interested in circuit bending check out casper electronics who has a website full of really useful info. Fat shaming.. Constructive conversation is one that leads to positive outcomes and inspires to act, not just passive-aggressively saying "that's bad for you dont you know that? Practicing scales against a metronome is very beneficial, but can be a little tedious and repetitive. If you're interested in improving your improvisation, then one of the best things you can do is to play Free-form, or freestyle. It's a lot more fun too! There are a lot of benefits to doing this, not the least of which is to improve your sense of rhythm and sense of where the downbeat is. It is also a great way of seeing if you can integrate your latest licks and riffs. Have fun with it! Last time we took a look at 10 bike hacks for mountain bikers and beyond, but we’re not finished. Today, we’ll be doing ten more hacks that mountain bikers, BMXer, and even road cyclists can enjoy. Let’s get started. Until you get good at it, working on a bike chain can be frustrating. Your derailleur can snap back and flick the chain into oblivion. For people like me with poor dexterity, a paper clip or hair pin can serve as a third set of hands. Hook this to your chain before you start working on it, and it’ll behave a little more predictably. By the way, to set a master link back in place, just position it above the chainstay and crank forwards abruptly. Working on your bike can get messy, and we all know that dish soap doesn’t quite do the trick. There will always be spots that you just can’t get clean. Use an abrasive like seal salt or even sand to scrub the dirt off of your hands. A 2x4 is only a few bucks, and it’s more than enough to make a bike stand. Just cut two pieces about 22 inches long, and use two 12 inch pieces as cross bars. Fasten them together with screws, and flip it over. This needs to be made to the width of your tire, but it’ll usually work with slightly different sizes. You could build a rack with really long cross bars and multiple tire notches to keep your whole fleet parked. You can even paint it, and there’s no precision carpentry required. There are various ways to get BMX grips off, but did you know that you could just use water? Just pour a little around the base of the grip and twist it until it comes loose. The grip should come off very easily, and the water should evaporate like it never happened. To get the grip back on, make sure it and the handlebars are really dry. Then put some zip ties inside the grip and position them around the handlebar. The plastic will reduce the traction of the grip, and make it much easier to get on the handlebar. Once your grip is installed, just pull the zip ties out one by one. I used hairspray to install grips when I was a kid, and I must admit this is a lot cleaner. Adjusting a road bike saddle can be pretty involved if you’re a serious rider, but a good starting point is to get it level. To do this, you can use—a level. Set the bike on a flat surface and then put the level on the nose of the saddle and on one of the butt pads. Then adjust the tilt until it’s level. From there, you have a starting point to get it just right. When locking up your bike, it’s a good idea to secure your frame with a u-lock and your wheels with a cable. If you don’t have enough cable, you can lock the rear wheel on the inside of the frame. This secures the frame and the rear wheel. It takes some time to wrap your head around, but stare at it for a little bit and think about it. You’d need to saw the rear wheel in half to steal the rest of the bike. Another great way to secure your wheels is with security skewers. These, unlike quick release skewers, require a key to get off your bike. They’re also lighter, better looking, and less bulky than quick release skewers. With the key, they come off easy. Note that no security measure will truly keep your bike safe, but anything that makes it a bigger pain in the ass to steal will at least buy you some time. Your floor pump is arguably the most important tool you have, but after a while it may start squeaking and acting up. You may need to oil it, and it comes as no surprise that chain oil works great for this. Just apply some oil, clean off the excess, and usually it’ll make the pump work as good as new. Scuffs on your bike’s paint can be pretty hard to clean off, but WD-40, surprisingly, does the job well. Apply it to a rag or paper towel and work the scuff out until you can’t see it. WD-40 won’t damage your paint, and it’s especially good for cleaning the scuffs that shoes leave on mountain bike seat stays. Let’s be honest, we don’t all have precision braking setups on our mountain bikes. If you’re having trouble aligning your disc calipers you can use two business cards to get the spacing just right. Loosen the mounting bolts, put business cards between the pads and the rotor, and clamp it down hard with the brake lever. Then tighten the bolts while holding the lever. Release the lever and pull the business cards out. Now, your brakes mean business. So there you have it, ten more bike hacks, or 11 or something. Even if you don’t use any of these I hope you found them entertaining. Click the scraggly head to subscribe to my channel, for more hacks, riding tips, repair tutorials, and shenanigans. Thanks for riding with me today, and I’ll see you next time. Today we’ll be testing a really high end bike light, and a really low end bike light. Is it worth using a cheap one and just replacing it when it breaks? Timing light: Timing light: https://amzn.to/2MocYa9 Setting up your ignition timing correctly is extremely important in order to have your car running properly. If your ignition timing is not set right your car will not be making the power or the mpg it should. If you have an older engine that uses a distributor the only way to accurately set ignition timing is with a timing light / timing gun. Timing lights can be bought anywhere and are fairly inexpensive, ranging from 15$ to 100$ for high-end professional timing lights. However, the average car guy /car enthusiast will be able to make do with even a very basic unit. Hooking up a timing light is easy. Every timing light consists of the same basic components. Two clamps which connect to the positive and negative sides of your battery. A timing light also has an inductive clamp which is clamped onto the number one spark plug wire on your engine. After this you are ready to fire up your engine and aim your timing light at your timing marks. Setting your ignition timing is also easy and you do this by loosening any bolt(s) that hold down the distributor, and as you are looking at the timing marks on your engine you rotate the distributor until you reach the ignition timing specified by the manufacturer. Specific timing procedure the 4A-GE 16V Toyota engine This same general procedure for setting ignition timing is the same for a Toyota 4age engine, but there are few preconditions to be met before setting the timing on the 4age. First of all your engine needs to be at its operating temperature before you start to set your ignition timing. The second pre-condition is bridging the E1 and T terminals in your diagnostic plug. After this you can proceed to set the ignition timing on your 4age engine by hooking up the timing light as described above. The 4age needs to run at 10 degrees advanced, i.e. before top dead center, with the above pre-conditions met. There are three ways that you can set the timing on your 4age engine depending on which car your engine is / comes from. In the video I show you three different methods to set the ignition timing on a 4age. First is by looking at the single notch on the crank pulley and aligning it against the timing marks on the plastic timing belt cover. This is the case in the Corolla, Fx16, Celica and other 4age powered Toyota cars where the engine sits in the front. You set the timing by looking at the needle pointer and three timing notches on the crank pulley in case of the MR2 aw11, where the engine is in the back. There is an alternative method to set the ignition timing on the 4age in case none of your timing marks is visible and that is by looking at the cam pulleys. Watch the video to see how. A look at a Hi-Res pre-recorded physical music format, MQS SD. There is some important info in this video description text box... MQS SD is sold in South Korea & HK for use with the Astell & Kern Hi-Res Personal Audio Players which feature MicroSD card storage slots. Astell & Kern use MQS to define HD Audio in a FLAC format with a 24bit encoding. According to their specs the KHz sample rate can vary depending on the source between 48KHz and 192KHz. The Beatles LP seems to be a special case because it’s just 44.1 KHz and I suspect this is because that’s the best source currently available. Back in 2014 manufacturers and record companies got together to define a system to code HD audio files. Here’s what they came up with. MQ-A - Taken from an Analogue Master Source MQ-C - Sourced from a 16bit 44.1KHz CD master and upsampled MQ-D - Sourced directly from a Direct Stream Digital DSD Master MQ-P - Sourced from a minimum 20bit master with a minimum 48KHz sample rate I haven’t seen these in use anywhere since, perhaps the descriptions were considered too verbose when you then combine them with the filetype AIFF, ALAC, FLAC or WAV. So what is MQS? Well as the video shows it’s not exactly nailed down in A&K’s description and I suspect that it’s just a simplification of the existing system. If you look at this South Korean music download site http://www.groovers.kr/mqs/chart/domestic?d=-1091701920 you can see they use MQS to identify HD tracks and then use a code like MQS 24/192 to identify the quality. The logo stands out in red on the page and the system is slightly simpler than stating a file is “HD Audio MQ-D FLAC 24/192” Whether the average human ear is capable of hearing the difference between all these things - I haven't a clue and I don't have a horse in that race...I'm just interested in collecting formats. I'm particularly interested in physical packed pre-recorded music...music in a box sold as a retail product. This is the most recent packaged music format (as far as I know). Yes SD cards and FLAC are not new...but putting them together in a nice box with cover-art and a booklet is...and that's what this video is about...something you probably weren't aware existed. SNAKEOIL - It's a flippant joke at the vague definition of the benefits of MQS over normal FLAC HiRes audio files...is there really any difference? It appears MQS is just 24 bit FLAC. I AM NOT SAYING HI-RES AUDIO IS SNAKEOIL ...just that I can see no discernible technical differences between 24 bit FLAC and MQS. Perhaps there is one...and if so A&K need to do a better job of defining exactly what the specific benefits of MQS difference are. Here is a link to all the MQS SD Card Albums. http://mall.groovers.kr/front/productlist.php?code=001000000000&listnum=12&sort=&block=0&gotopage=1 I bought my Beatles MQS SD Album on ebay - here's a link that should find any for sale https://goo.gl/MMOKDM Don't overpay though! Incidentally there's also another file format called MQA - here's some info on that http://www.soundandvision.com/content/hi-res-label-unamas-release-10-mqa-recordings This seems to have no connection to the MQ-A categorisation I mentioned above (which describes the origin of a recording - like AAD or DDD you used to see on CD's) This MQA (without the dash) actually seems to be a separate format that is backwardly compatible with some other formats...it's all very confusing. UPDATE No one has to buy these. Your existing choice of music delivery medium will continue to function irrespective of the success or failure of MQS SD. I didn't anticipate that showing an obscure music delivery format that is only marketed in South Korea for playback of audio via the micro SD card slot on a high-end digital media player would be so controversial. -------------SUPPORT--------------- This channel can be supported through Patreon https://www.patreon.com/techmoan Patrons usually have early access to videos ---------------SUBSCRIBE------------------ http://www.youtube.com/user/Techmoan?sub_confirmation=1 ------AFFLIATED LINKS/ADVERTISING NOTICE------- All links are Affiliated where possible. The British Museum continues to add to its collection, acquiring modern and contemporary objects and recently we have been adding objects to the Egyptian collection. The Museum created a pop-up installation to display and debate the new acquisitions, in the Kodak Passageway, downtown Cairo, between October 12 and 19. This was the first outcome of a project to consider how 20th and 21st century Egypt can be represented through objects. لتفعيل الترجمة باللغة العربية إضغط على علامة CC اسفل الفيديو.

The standard Pentatonic Scale fingering is great for playing slow lyrical passages, but when the speed picks up 2 notes per string can get really limiting. A great way of getting round this is to play alternating 3 and 1 notes per string, but this comes with it's own set of problems. Last Saturday Rick Graham posted a quick video "Saturday shred lick" which shows what can be achieved when you do this. That gave me the inspiration to break this down and give you 3 exercises which should let you develop this technique. Rick Graham's Saturday shred video can be found here... https://youtu.be/G4t9qWpwFRw If you need them, a pdf of the 3 exercises that I cover can be found here... http://bit.ly/2h9dt93 I've posted a good few videos covering this pentatonic fingering in the past, but If you want to learn more about these Extended Pentatonic Scale patterns try this video to start with... https://youtu.be/c_v-IJ5p5xI Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/SixStringsAttachedTV Video Gear ~~~~~~~~~~ Camera: Canon EOS700D http://amzn.to/2ijQRRp Vocals Mic: iPhone 6S http://amzn.to/2ijM0zz Guitar Mic: iPad http://amzn.to/2hZxhfi Guitar Gear ~~~~~~~~~~~ Fender Stratocaster (American Deluxe) http://amzn.to/2hZHTer VOX AC30 Amplifier http://amzn.to/2iwHCN0

It cost $8000 for the budget model the last time they published the prices (they took the prices off their website a couple of years ago and made it POA). It also has to be imported from Japan and you pay the postage and the duty charges. 2. It can't read coloured, clear or picture disc vinyl 3. As it converts the analogue record to digital, dust is a big issue. Rather than a small crackle or a pop it's now a dropout in the audio. 4. It has been out for years (decades) and yet still appears to be seen as a silly novelty by the HiFi press. That's worrying for a $8000+ product. 7+TRACKS PER SIDE Most frequently repeated question: What do you do if there are more than 7 tracks on one side of an LP? The obvious and predictably boring answer: Press play & you can listen to your entire 15+ track vinyl record You can still also navigate directly to any of the first 7 tracks on either side, and play both sides without getting up to flip the record. The Commodore Vic 20 is a machine released in 1980 as the Vic-1001 and formally as the Vic20 in 1981. It's power compared to even the Commodore 64 is small, yet here it is running an iteration of Doom - albeit in a severely condensed and cut down form - with almost intact level design, spare for planes and a few areas. So you just spent all your money on a new mountain bike. It’s your pride and joy. You stare at it, pamper it, and of course you ride it. Still, you want to spoil your bike but you’re totally friggin broke. I’ve got your back, these 10 super cheap upgrades can improve your bike, protect it, or just make it look nicer. Let’s get started. These plastic cable fasteners are known as c-clips, and I’m pretty sure the C stands for crap because these always come loose and leave your cables hanging. For this reason, professionals use zip ties. Multi colored zip ties are not only slimmer and more secure, but they also can personalize your bike. Rather than matching your frame color, you should try to choose an accent color from your components so they stand out. Zip ties can be purchased at a hardware store, or online for just a few bucks. Since you have a bunch of zip ties, why not use them to neaten up your brake and shift cables. Try to find a way to keep the cables from hitting into each other, but still move freely as you steer. This will make your whole bike neater, quieter, and better looking. When you take a hard landing, your chain will sometimes hit your frame. This is called chain-slap, and the affected area is called your chainstay. Look closely and there’s usually a clear sticker there which offers some protection. To really protect your paint you can wrap your chainstay with electrical tape. Of course this comes in many colors. If you use the high quality 3M stuff, it’ll come off without leaving any residue. When the tape gets chewed up from the chain, you can pull it off and replace it again to keep your bike looking fresh. Another way to protect your chainstay is with a neoprene guard. These are often given away for free when you order stuff, and they can be had for just a few bucks on Amazon. Since they’re fastened with velcro they can be easily replaced or removed for cleaning. Keep your bike fresh and protect your chainstay. For the rest of the transcript, turn on closed captions.
Is it worth the price? Absolutely. (ps statue's base is kinda cheap..) Doppler effect is the apparent change in the frequency (pitch) of the sound due to relative motion between the source and the listener. Why do you care? Well for one, you hear it almost every single day For two, the police interceptors use this effect to give you speeding tickets and many more Let us learn intuitively what it is and how it happens, the mathematical formulation for it and also I will support the explanation with a concrete demo This is also the video I am submitting for Khan academy #KAIndiatalentsearch About the demo: First of all I notice that the difference in the frequency is quite small, about 4 to 5 hz tops (in the fundamental mode), but be rest assured this was no error. I actually did a lot of trials (I waved my phone so many times) and I analyzed all of them, and I saw a pretty consistent result. The reason that the change is so small is because the speed of the source (my phone) was very small compared to the speed of sound in air (1200 km/hr). You can even calculate the speed of my hand using the data, it comes to around 7 to 8 km/hr Fundamental frequency and Harmonics. My phone is supposed to create a sound of just 1000 hz. But the app used is a free app. So it doesn't create a pure 1000 hz tone. Usually they also create higher frequencies which are integral multiples of the fundamental frequencies. These are called harmonics. So I was concentrating on the fundamental and the second harmonic. And in the demo I showed that both (actually all of the harmoics) get Doppler shifted, Hopefully that doesn't confuse you :) You should try this yourself. The required software is called Audacity its a freeware you can find it over here http://www.audacityteam.org/download/ And for the tone generation just download some free app from the app store (a simple one would do) This is how astronomers understand what the speed of galaxies and stars are, they check doppler shift of their emitted frequencies, but more on that in future episodes :) Follow me on https://www.facebook.com/FloatHeadPhysix/ Music: Music Hypnothis -Kevin Macleaod Creative Commons — Attribution 3.0 Unported— CC BY 3.0 https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/ Hustle -Kevin Macleaod Creative Commons — Attribution 3.0 Unported— CC BY 3.0 https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/ Blur. Stories about Jesus' birth are famous. But what about stories about Jesus' childhood? One early Christian text, the Infancy Gospel of Thomas, invents some pretty crazy stories about the schoolboy Jesus. But what did this text mean for an ancient audience?
