This week I talk about how to play Arpeggios, firstly covering my fingerstyle technique and then broadening it to talk about a good way of practicing arpeggios irrespective of whether you use a pick or just finger picking. I also talk about practicing, managing the complexity of learning these types of techniques and introduce the Practice Matrix. Todays video is a little different, this is the first episode of riding with Seth. In these videos you will get channel updates, news items, and anything current. I will also be plugging products from time to time, which could eventually allow me to make this a full time job. So why not do these things in my normal videos? Why the need for a new series? Well I want to keep all this stuff separate so I can focus on making my normal videos as entertaining as possible. So if you don’t care about channel updates, or you don’t want someone blatantly marketing to you, just ignore these videos when they pop up. The first order of business is that I’ll be going to Moab, Utah next week. This is one of the most iconic mountain biking destinations in the known world, so you can expect some amazing footage and videos in a couple of weeks. During that trip I’ll be collaborating with Brian from BK-XC. I’ve linked to his channel below. Brian visits all sorts of mountain bike trails and posts stunning, stabilized video from his GoPro with all the boring stuff cut out. Since he’s in much better shape than me, he has lung capacity to actually speak as he rides, making the videos all that more interesting. Check the description for a link to his channel, and if you haven’t subscribed already, remember that he’ll be posting videos with me on that trip. Second, a lot of you guys ordered these Taco shirts in preparation for the trip. I wanted to give a shout out to a subscriber of mine, Nick, who made this design. I think that only an insider could create something this awesome, since it plays on several inside jokes. If you like his work, check out the link to his channel below, as well as a whole video showing the making of this shirt. Third, From the very beginning I’ve captioned my videos, both in the description and via the closed captions button. Because of these written transcripts, it’s pretty easy to translate my videos into other languages. So if you live in another country and want to share these with non-English speaking people, you can click the “add subtitles” button and submit a transcript in any language you want. YouTube gives you credit for this work, but I don’t know what this actually translates to—no pun intended. And finally, I want to apologize that there probably won’t be a video next Sunday since I’ll be in Moab filming and riding. Since each of my videos take about 12 hours to produce, I’d be better off just spending the time filming. If I post something, enjoy. If not, be patient and I’ll resume the normal posting schedule after the trip. This has been a Seth’s Bike Hacks channel update. If you have questions about anything in the video, check the description for links first. Thanks for riding with me today, and I’ll see you next time. Here is a review quiz https://www.qzzr.com/c/quiz/271765/kinematics-episode-2-bob-in-uniform-motion In this episode we look at Bob moving in what we call as a uniform or Smooth motion. What is so smooth about smooth motion? Concept of Average velocity is introduced over here. We are finally doing the kinematics for real. We are dealing with motion. We will be building our first equation and graph it for motion. This will also help you make a connection between graphing and equations. Everything you study here will be the basic requirement for any part of physics later on, trust me, any part. So have fun, and feed back and comments are always welcomed :)

So do you guys remember the tall bike I rode last week? Yeah, that thing is normal compared to this. Meet the half bike, which was hatched from a very successful kickstarter campaign last year. So first of all, the Halfbike arrived fully assembled in a box. All I needed to do was unfold it and pump up the tires. It’s like a reverse trike. You steer the Halfbike by leaning left or right, which flexes the frame and compresses the springs on the rear axle. The frame is made of aluminum and the—stem we’ll call it, is made from wood. The engineers also went as far as to add a 3 speed Sturmey Archer hub… totally unnecessary but awesome nonetheless. There are also brakes which end up coming in handy. Instead of making bold claims about it revolutionizing human powered transportation, the inventors have taken the honest route, saying on their website that the true advantage of the Halfbike is the fun you’ll have riding it. I can certainly get behind that. I also like the fact that it’s compact enough to easily throw in the trunk of a car or carry up some stairs. So before you make arguments about it’s practicality, you need to understand that the Halfbike is built for fun. The day I received the Halfbike it was raining, but it cleared up late in the afternoon. The plan was to ride it for a few hours and get footage for Friday’s video. I neglected to account for the learning curve. At first glance the Halfbike looks like it would operate like a scooter, but it feels like nothing you’ve ever ridden before. I immediately hated it, and regretted my commitment to ride 2 miles to the park. Look at how I hunch over the bars, and struggle to steer it. Look at how I’m dripping with sweat after less than a mile. I thought, why not just use a bike, or a skateboard? Hell, my unicycle is easier than this, but that’s when it clicked—my unicycle took me over an hour to even get a few feet on. To pass judgement on the Halfbike after 20 minutes wasn’t fair. At the park I let some people try the half bike, and most could barely go a few feet on it. As more people tried the Halfbike I realized that the engineers really had created something totally new. This felt nothing like a bike, or a scooter, or anything. Imagine if you had never seen or tried a bicycle before, how skeptical you would be about staying up on it. Just like a bike or a unicycle, the Halfbike becomes second nature once your brain figures out how it works. So the real question is, what is the Halfbike like once you get comfortable on it? Well first of all it’s nowhere near as tiring. On day one I would have rather walked than ride the Halfbike, but that’s because I wasn’t standing up straight and relaxing. Steering is also a lot like a skateboard, where you lean your body first and naturally let the board follow. The rear wheel steering lets you make some pretty sharp turns, and it actually reminds me a bit of the swing bike. Although I’m not a pro yet, I think you could pump the Halfbike by zig zagging fluidly. I was able to go pretty fast too, but I rarely shifted out of the lowest gear on the Sturmey Archer hub. That tells me that the Halfbike has plenty of headroom once you get more comfortable on it. I’m sure I’ll get faster as time goes on. As you could imagine, my ultimate plan was to jump stuff. Because its design is so simple, the Halfbike is pretty rugged. I also crashed it quite a few times with no issues. I made an executive decision to stop trying 360’s on the Halfbike, for now. But, I think a 360 could absolutely be done on a Halfbike with some practice. As for getting around town, it’s really not too bad. The fact that it’s so compact does make the Halfbike convenient to grab and go on. The only problem is that it’s hard to ride with one hand for any distance, so if you like to sip a coffee while riding around town there’s no easy way to do it. On a bike or skateboard this isn’t an issue, but I think I found a solution. The Halfbike does in fact deliver on its promise of being a totally unique experience. Most human powered transportation devices claiming to be new are really just variations of bikes and scooters, but your brain actually needs to write a new algorithm to ride a Halfbike. Just like the other freak bikes on this channel, the Halfbike doesn’t solve any problems or revolutionize transportation. It’s just a new way to have fun. So kudos to the Halfbike team for creating something that’s actually original. Thanks for riding with me today, and I’ll see you next time. The Halfbike: http://halfbikes.com/

This mean machine is running on pure pedal power, no more wiring up your hamster wheel to get those tempo shifts when your riding to the shops. using Cut up Credit cards gaffataped to the spokes to hit an array of buttons around the bike wheel that sequence off different drum parts and bass synth bits. it was triggering off a few times because of the fact switches aren't perfect, so its running through an Arduino nano to stop it triggering twice each time it gets hit. we've got at the front a TINFOIL drum pad that you can make yourself easy, if you havent checked it there is a how to video on the LOOK MUM NO COMPUTER page. its actually REALLY hard to play in time because your pedalling at a different rate to the actual song tempo, so it is a bit ropey, so bear with me on this. other stuff in this simple patch includes sequence changes on the drum pads, so won't change the note unless you hit it, also triggering a few samples which are loaded into a module with a SparkFun Electronics, Inc. WAV shield behind it. i mean your not gunna be able to get this bad boy 1984 KYNAST BMX 2000 on the dirt jumps unless you have a sidecar to carry the synth, but maybe we could ask Colin furze to make us one and get Steve Peat to show us how its done. **heres wishing** Patreon :- https://www.patreon.com/lookmumnocomputer Facebook :- https://www.facebook.com/LOOKMUMNOCOMPUTER Website :- https://www.lookmumnocomputer.com Instagram :- https://www.instagram.com/lookmumnocomputer/ Always looking for old gear! to mod or conserve in the "museum of everything else" one day :P ETH Donations always welcome, here :- 0xD765bf71f5c10F91d704D792De4b21712B132f23 Other donation options right here! thanks :D :- https://www.lookmumnocomputer.com/donations/

I bought a fairly nice and running 1969 Saab 96 in Hussar Blue to replace my really not nice and not running at all 1969 Saab 96 in Hussar Blue coated in nasty Baby Blue with a little dirt mixed in. I'm pretty sure this is a better car than what I had. I mostly think this due to my lack of ability to see through the floors on this one. Well, that and the fact that it has actual car functions like moving.

First of all, here is the review quiz. After watching the episode click on the link and take the quiz https://www.qzzr.com/c/quiz/271733/kinematics-episode-1-review Welcome to the first episode of Kinematics. In this episode we explore the most simple situation you can think about in this concept. Bob at rest. As I said, kinematics is all about equations and graphs, so in this case, we are going to build our very first equation and our very first graph. It doesn't matter if you have had any prior experience with graphing, I give you an intuitive approach of how to graph things. So that you understand what it REALLY IS, and don't have to just mug it up for exams I highly recommend you to take notes, as of now, my notes are not ready (Super busy), but I will be putting up assignments, (yet to decide, how or where), I am working on it. Please give me some suggestions for assignment hosting, it would be appreciated a lot. Anyhoo, that's it for here, enjoy the first episode and as always, feedbacks are always welcomed. I've made a few potato cannons over the years, and in this video I fire my favorite ammunition, VHS tape. The light, high-surface-area profile of the magnetic tape allows it to hang in the air for a long time, displaying the trail of the projectile you launched. It's really cool! In this case, the trail formed is the parabola of a "normal" flying object in Earth's gravity. Music in this video: I dunno grapes Creative Commons: Attribution http://ccmixter.org/files/grapes/16626

The Y2K Bug, or Millennium Bug as it was known over here in the UK & Europe, was a problem which arose due to years being programmed into computers using 2 digits rather than 4. This meant that 99 was interpreted as 1999, but 00 was interpreted as 1900 rather than the year 2000. This problem was raised as a potential issue for computers and their associated systems around the globe and led to widespread action, panic and fear mongering about the potential consequences. Including planes falling from the sky, missiles being launched, lifts being stuck, heating failing, electricity failing and all manner of scenarios which made us feel like we were about to enter an eternal dystopian winter from which we'd never recover. The truth is slightly less harsh, after all, we're still here. So join me for a recap of the Y2K bug and a look at what the bug actually did throughout the world. ☟Sharing☟ If you wish to share this video in forums, social media, on your website, *please do so*! Today we're at Virginia Key park to answer a question—one we kind of already know the answer to; Can you ride a BMX bike on mountain bike trails? I mean, you probably could. They’re great for jumping over stuff and nearly indestructible. But then again, you could probably go hiking in tap dancing shoes. BMX bikes come in many shapes and sizes, but at your local skatepark you’d find something like this. The tires are high pressure, the seat is super low, and the brakes are...well there are none. We’re also missing the pegs but I don’t think that's a factor here. For our test course I chose a loop at Virginia Key Park called Purple Haze. All of the trails here are named after rock songs, and just like the song, Purple Haze takes only about 3 minutes. You’ll see why that’s important. I also like this loop because it has a little bit of everything, from loose sand, to roots, to chunky rocks and wooden obstacles. There are also some well packed berms which I’m sure the BMX will work great on. There are no prolonged climbs or descents, nor would I want there to be. BMX gearing is made for short sprints, to set up for gaps and jumps. As you can see, my mountain bike makes quick work of all these features. Pedaling through the sand and dirt is effortless on big cushy tires. On bigger bumps and drops, the suspension helps keep the bike grounded. Even if I get going too fast, hydraulic disc brakes are at my fingertips. The experience on a mountain bike is fun, comfortable, and fast. But we didn’t come here to use the right tool for the job, this is Seth’s Bike Hacks you’re watching. Time to take the 20 inch for a spin, balls out no brakes. Right off the bat, I could feel the bike bouncing and shifting around on the pebbles and sand, but on the berms and wooden features it was a blast. The BMX was so snappy and nimble that it outperformed the mountain bike that was following me. That ended really fast when I hit this little section of mushy dirty. Sand, gravel, and rough terrain is crippling on a BMX. On inclines, I was able to pedal hard and use my momentum, but there's no way I could have done any real climbing on this bike. I was very surprised at how well the BMX handled the rock garden, but then again it was down a small hill. If it were level or uphill I wouldn’t have had the gearing or clearance for pedaling. For the roughest of features, momentum is the only way to get through on a BMX. As I worked my way through the trail, I became totally exhausted. In places where a mountain bike would just coast through, I was pedaling with all my might. On a BMX you’re always out of the saddle mashing as hard as you can. Bombing this little twisty section was scary. I just barely made it around this turn without tumbling into the bushes. After one more chattery section I was nearing the end of the loop. The BMX had made it through the course. But believe me when I say you can’t do this for very long. After catching my breath, I thought it would be a good idea to take another lap. Filled with confidence, I was going faster than I did the first time around. That could have been much worse. I made it through this twisty section the first time, but on round two my luck changed. Even if the bike had brakes, I’m not sure how well the tires would have gripped the surface while stopping. No matter how you slice it, washing out or losing control is a really big possibility on a BMX. I’ll be feeling that one for about a week. The whole reason I did this test is that people actually do ask about this. If all you have is a BMX and you’re curious about mountain biking, you might want to wait until you can do it on a mountain bike. Either that, or find some dirt trails that are made with BMX in mind. Mountain biking on a BMX has a really bad fun to danger ratio, so I just can’t recommend it. Thanks for riding with me today and I’ll see you next time.

G-Eazy - Guitar Cover (lyrics) [Britney] Friday, I'm dreaming a mile a minute 'bout somebody (This feeling, I wanna go with it, cause there's no way) We're hiding away from this tonight, oh, this tonight Can tell you want me... By the way I see you starin' 'cross the room, babe No shame in the game Just cut the shit, be honest... Yeah, you know what you gotta do tonight, do tonight! I just want you to make me move Like it ain't a choice for you, like you got a job to do Just want you to raise my roof Something sensational (oh yeah!) And make me oooh, oooh, oooh, oooh... And make me oooh, oooh, oooh, oooh... No rules From the bar to the car, let's take it back to my room Igniting the heat of the moment; let the sparks fuse Blowing up to the ceiling, we're burning bright When we cross the line Cause you're the flame I can't do without The fire comes in the sapphire sun There's no way I'm gonna be fighting this tonight, this tonight I just want you to make me move Like it ain't a choice for you, like you got a job to do Just want you to raise my roof Something sensational (oh yeah) And make me oooh, oooh, oooh, oooh And make me oooh, oooh, oooh, oooh Baby, cause you're the spark that won't go out My heart's on fire when you're around Make me oooh, oooh, oooh, oooh (Yeah, Eazy) [G-Eazy] I don't care if it's a random person or the biggest star Out in Vegas or little bars Really not a difference if it's near or far Listen, here we are; need you I've always wondered what was off limits Staring at you til I'm caught in this Back and forth like this was all tennis I'm all jealous, you came with someone But we could tell that there's changes coming See I could tell that you're a dangerous woman That means you're speaking my language, come on Now follow me, let's go Like Penelope in "Blow" Well worth the stealing you, it's a felony, yeah I know That's why they keep on telling me to let go, yeah But I need you and I can take you All the way and I'm able To give you something sensational, so let's go, yeah Said I need you and I can take you All the way and I'm able So follow me and I can make you And make me oooh (move), oooh, oooh (yeah), oooh And make me oooh, oooh, oooh, oooh Baby, cause you're the spark that won't go out My heart's on fire when you're around Make me oooh, oooh, oooh, oooh (Yeah, you make me oooh...)
NOTE: I say and write 10mL dextrose, but i mean 10g. There is clearly a bag of solid dextrose there. I have no idea how I messed that up! Today we are going to be playing with the redox indicator methylene blue. Instead of KOH, it can be replaced with NaOH. It just needs to be adjusted according to molar mass. Okay, so I owe you guys an explanation. Let's do a quick recap. As you know I ordered a ridiculously cheap mongoose dolomite fat bike from Target. Although it was heavy and clumsy, it exceeded my expectations for $180. So I did what any reasonable person would: Ride into the port and try to surf the wake of the largest cruise ship in the world. I failed miserably, but learned that fat bikes were buoyant. After getting run up on by a manatee, I rinsed off the bike and put it away. Except for a guest appearance in the bailing tutorial, we haven't seen the Dolomite since. Until now. This is Raven. As you can obviously see, he's installed new grips and shifter cables on our Mongoose Dolomite. Oh yeah... and he welded another Walmart bike on top of it. Raven has built a lot of tall bikes for a lot of people. He doesn't grind his welds and he doesn't paint his bikes. Each one has its own story, written in battle scars, modifications, and original decals. From what I can see, building these bikes is just a means to an end for Raven; His real goal is to ride them. We'll be meeting up with Raven again in Key West, for a tall bike gathering of sorts. These gatherings take place every weekend, but this will be the first time it happens way down in the keys. The Florida Keys are a group of islands connected by manmade bridges, and Key West is the Southernmost one. From downtown Miami it's a 3 hour drive, which all the participants will make with their tall bikes in tow. Tall bikes feel surprisingly similar to normal bikes when in motion, and require no special skills to actually stay up on. It's the mounting and dismounting that become difficult. Although some varieties are easier to mount than others, they're all a challenge, which is why many tall bikers will do circles or make right turns when faced with a traffic light. The name of the game is avoiding stops at all costs. Raven's crew is used to riding in South Beach, so they feel right at home here in Key West. Everyone else though is very surprised to see the tall bikes. For Tall Bikes Miami, tallbikes305, or whatever you refer to the group as, this is a passion and a lifestyle. Not one of their bikes is similar. Many of them proudly display the original Walmart brand decals, while others have been painstakingly engineered for performance. The Tallgoose, as someone on Instagram called it, is the first tall bike I've seen with 4" tires. At over 70 pounds it's not easy to pedal, and the chain line is super close to the rear wheel. Still, it's one of a kind, and can turn heads like no other. It's safe to say that it fits in with this group, and will see the streets of Miami for years to come. As for Raven and his crew...they are one of the rowdiest groups I've ever ridden with, but also one of the warmest and friendliest. If you happen to run into Raven and have a few old bike frames for him, you might end up becoming a tall biker yourself. If you end up building one on your own, make sure you hashtag it with #tallbike, so we can all see it. I'll leave some links in the description. The Amstrad PC1512 was Alan Sugar's attempt to break into the IBM PC Compatible market with a machine that was cheaper than the competition, whilst still being fairly well equipped. The PC1512 was a reasonable success that might have done better if it weren't for nasty rumors (possibly spread by IBM themselves) and production issues meaning the HDD models were in short supply. Join me for this updated review/retrospective (because my original one almost exactly 2 years ago was a pile of unreserved crap), and let's look at the history and details of this Amstrad PC. ☟Sharing☟ If you wish to share this video in forums, social media, on your website, *please do so*!
