This is the bike: http://amzn.to/1ZFg5bw This is the next video: https://youtu.be/9Hg7vjmlCuA It's hard for me to complain about the Mongoose Dolomite, since it's a sub $200 fat bike. No, it doesn’t shift nicely, and yes, it has one of those terrible seat clamps with the bolts on the sides. It’s precisely compromises like these that make super cheap bikes possible. So with that understanding, I'll give an overview of this bike's strong and weak points. First of all the paint job is impressive. Even the rims have a nice red powder coat on them, which does a pretty good job of hiding this huge weld. The saddle is also quite comfortable. The rear derailleur is from Shimano's Tourney group set, which is suspiciously absent from their website. Although I see it available for $6 on the internet, I think it might be the most expensive part on this entire drivetrain. Speaking of drivetrains, I've gotta give credit to Mongoose for setting this up with a 1x. This makes the bike much cleaner and more mechanically sound. With that said, I think they should have chosen a smaller chainring for the front. At 47 pounds, this thing is pretty hard to pedal on flat, let alone on sand or up hill. I will say though that it's lighter than my last bike by a full pound—of course on that bike I packed the components with sand and pumped the tires full of water. The disc brakes suck terribly, but surprisingly they are totally adjustable like normal ones. Most department store bikes are built in some proprietary way that makes them difficult or impossible to service. This bike breaks that trend to some extent. That makes me wonder if a better set of pads would improve the stopping power. For now, all I need to do is stop pedaling and the bike comes to standstill pretty fast. I was especially happy to see a threadless headset. Compared to a threaded headset and quill stem, this feels incredibly solid, and dare I say—safe. I expect this headset to hold up much better than my last one, and I also expect the alignment to stay put. I have ridden quite a few fat tire bikes, and they were generally heavy and sluggish compared to their skinny counterparts. Still, I was always pleasantly surprised at how well they handled for their size. Not this bike. Sure, if you pump the tires to 20PSI it rolls and steers well, but it’s then useless on sand or chattery terrain. Reduce the pressure to 10 PSI, like a real fat bike, and its off-road performance does improve. Unfortunately, this makes the bike extremely difficult to control, as the steering pulls whichever way you’re turning. I think this is due to the cheap tires, which are pretty thick and shaped oddly. I also think wider bars and a shorter stem would make this bike easier to manage. If you have this bike and want to give it an upgrade, I might recommend that shorter stem paired with cheap set of 760mm bars. Even after these shortcomings, I firmly believe this Mongoose Dolomite is a marvel of engineering. Like I said, everything on this is a compromise, designed to keep it below $200. As a society we asked for a cheap fat bike, and here it is. It may seem like certain things could have been made better for the same price though. For instance, would a smaller chainring in the front have changed the price? Well, maybe. You see these bikes benefit from economies of scale, or using parts that can be produced in mass quantity. So, it could have been that this very popular crankset/chainring combination was actually the cheapest route. This scenario is very likely, and is probably the case for many other parts on this bike. So, we don’t really have the right to nitpick the gear ratio. So now for the real question; why did I buy this bike? Why not a nice fat bike? Well, I have some plans which I wouldn’t have the heart to carry out on a bike like that. If you’ve been following my videos, you could probably guess that the Dolomite is gonna have a rough week. Stay tuned, because in the next video, things might get a little salty. Thanks for riding with me today, and I'll see you next time. Here's a tutorial video showing you how to clean and whiten (remove the yellow color) from your coolant expansion (overflow tank). My coolant overflow tank was sitting in my car for far too long and it was simply horrible. With a ton of 30 year old sludge, dirt, discoloration and anything else you can imagine. Good quality replacement coolant tanks for my car (1987 MR2 mk1 AW11) don't exist, and used ones are usually in similar condition. So I did some research to see how best to clean it and get it looking like new again. Cleaning the inside was fairly easy with some common household items. Some rice, some bleach and a dish washing tab and a lot of shaking gave results that are were even better then I hoped. The outside was scrubbed with a dish washing pad and a bleach and water mixture. Again the results were very decent and 30 years worth of dirt was gone in mere minutes. What was annoying me most of all and where it was the hardest to get the results was the yellowness of the coolant tank. Scrubbing is dead useless here, since the yellowness you can see on coolant tanks is the result of a chemical reaction. The only solution is to whiten/ bleach out the ugly yellow color out of the coolant expansion tank. However this is a lot easier said than done. My initial research led me to a solution called Retrobright which was developed to get the yellowness out of old pcs like ataris and commodores. I made it and tried it, but the results were extremely poor. However I learned from Retrobright about the key ingredient to get my coolant expansion tank white again, and the magic ingredient is called hydrogen peroxide. The product with the highest concentration of hydrogen peroxide I could find was in hair-care products for bleaching your hair. On the same isle I found another product which promised to add an extra kick of aggressiveness into my bleaching formula, it was called bleaching powder and when mixed with the hydrogen cream it promised extra bleaching power. I stocked up and got to work. Results finally started to appear. After several bleaching sessions with the inside and outside of the coolant tank covered in the bleaching solution I managed to get most of the yellow color out. Mind you I couldn't get every last shade out of it, but I did manage to get it looking A LOT better than it was when I started. BASIC Programming... it's a skill we think is long forgotten on today's youth. In reality, we can still do it, it's just not as abundant as it was in the 80s. It was the default landing page of everyone who turned on their home computer in that era, so there was little choice but to learn it, especially if you had no games. But this was where creativity blossomed, it's where the surge of 1980s game development came from... the bedroom coders, the school kids and even the adults switching career path in favour of their latest hobby. To make a game today you usually buy a piece of software which does most of the work for you... some kind of RPG maker or FPS creator which has layers upon layers of code, slowing down the whole process and really not making the most out of the lightning fast processors of today. Most games were coded in a few kilobytes in the 80s. Today, you can't even fit an email into that space. BASIC Programming did more than allow you to make games. It was a true creative outlet where you could do pretty much ANYTHING you wanted. Your logic was tested to the max, as you figured out the best way to code up a particular routine, all whilst using your problem solving skills to cram it in as little space as possible. In this series, I'm aiming to bring a little bit of that back, by teaching you how to make a game in BASIC. I'm specifically targeting Commodore BASIC here, as it seems the most accessible, and it's one I spent a good time using back in the early '90s. This episode is an introduction to making a BASIC Game, so I'm taking a gentle introduction to programming in BASIC, with some key elements, but over the coming episodes the goal is to create a fully functional game in C64 BASIC, which you can then tinker and develop to your heart's content. Hopefully if I can get one person to dust off their trusty C64 and get tinkering, then I'll be happy. This episode is looking at creating a simple guessing game, using random numbers. Here's the final listing; 10 print "*Insert Clear Screen Character*" 20 let x=int(rnd(1)*6) 20 print "The Computer has chosen a number between 0 and 5. Can you guess it?" 40 input G 50 print "*Insert Clear Screen Character*" 60 If G=X then print "Well Done.":Goto 90 80 print "Tough Luck - You're Wrong." 90 Print "Do you want another go? If so, please type Y and press the return key." 100 Input A$ 110 If A$="Y" Then Goto 10 120 Goto 100 ☟Subcribe☟ https://www.youtube.com/user/nostalgianerdvideos?sub_confirmation=1 ✊Support Me! ✊ Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/nostalgianerd?ty=h Visit my eBay Shop: http://ebay.to/1QQpYyy Buy From Amazon (affiliate): http://amzn.to/1OzCQWR ★Nerd Social★ Twitter: http://www.twitter.com/nostalnerd Face: http://www.facebook.com/nostalnerd Instagram: http://www.instagram.com/nostalgianerd Web: http://www.nostalgianerd.com ★Equipment★ Corel Video Studio Ultimate X7 Corel Paint Shop Pro X6 Blue Snowball Microphone WinVICE Commodore 64 Emulator ♜Resources♜ First and Last tracks are Night Drive Turbo and Reflection of Paradise by the amazing Rad Universe - https://soundcloud.com/raduniverse Commodore 64 Image courtesy of Wikipedia/Wikimedia HOW2 BG Intro from '90s kids programme HOW2 courtesy of Scottish Television Enterprises. MYSTERY! We all love mystery, and for me, there's no better mystery than a dusty old floppy... who knows what could lurk within!? I mean, there was a time when 3.5" floppy disks were all the rage. It's a time I still pine for, on a daily basis. So much so that I frequently find my old MS-DOS floppy disks (from some 20 years ago) and find out if any of them work, whilst exploring exactly what can be found lurking in the dark recesses of this magnetic media. This is recorded on the fly and I genuinely don't know what we're going to find on these disks before delving in, other than what the vague labels suggest. Yes!... welcome to another mystery floppy disk (number 8 in the series as it happens) from my shoebox of oddity software, strange files and inexplicable games. I swear I don't know why I even backed half of this stuff up. Still, it's interesting to unearth 20 year old software and find out exactly what the hell it is, and why it even exists. Think of this as a blind bag, where the floppy disk is the bag, and the sweaty hand that creeps into the bag is MS-DOS, guided by my, errm, hands. If you love Microsoft DOS, Microsoft Windows or if you're just looking for Strange DOS Games, general DOS destruction, Windows crashes, Weird Windows Software, Half broken BASIC games or inexplicable media files, then this is the place for you. Here we do a scaled up version of the oxalic acid synthesis that ChemPlayer did. The table sugar (sucrose) is oxidized using nitric acid. This is a pretty dirty reaction and it is not very efficient. Oxalic acid has various uses, but I want to use it to make oxalyl chloride, which will in turn be used to make TCPO which is used in glow stick. The followup video to this one would be the azeotropic distillation of oxalic acid to dry it. In order to make oxalyl chloride, we need very dry oxalic acid (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oAt9lO82s-0) ChemPlayer video - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nAdd4iMfj30 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Merch - https://nilered.tv/store ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Join the community: Patreon - https://www.patreon.com/nilered Discord - https://discord.com/invite/3BT6UHf NileRed Newsletter - https://nile.red/home#newsletter You can also find me here: Facebook - https://m.facebook.com/NileRed2 Instagram - https://m.instagram.com/nile.red Twitter - https://mobile.twitter.com/NileRed2 Nile talks about lab safety: https://youtu.be/ftACSEJ6DZA

The Immortal for the Sega Mega Drive / Genesis in all it's atmospheric '90s fantastical glory. I loved this game in my youth, even if I did only have it from Ritz rentals for a few weeks. Something about an isometric dungeon crawler that still gets me to this day, and this beauty packed a hell of a lot of atmosphere, not to mention gore. More gore than you'd find on Mortal Kombat as it happens, yet this game went almost unnoticed in that area compared to the debarcle brought on by later "gory" games.

Hero Session: http://amzn.to/1RWJI1W Lately I’ve been trying to streamline my camera gear. Although it’s nice to get a bunch of angles and make everything look cinematic, sometimes it’s more important to be nimble. This is the reason I decided to buy the GoPro Hero 4 Session. Today, we’ll surgically recess this Hero Session into my forehead. I’m tracing the shape of the session for a precise cut. Well, not exactly. The real plan is to hide it under my helmet visor. If you have a GoPro or almost any action camera for that matter, you probably have some of these little mounts. Back when I used to work on cars for a living, we had a trick to make 3M tape stick better. Heat it up. You can carefully apply heat with a hair dryer or even a lighter. When it’s tacky and bubbling, mount it to a clean surface and hold it there until it cools. Good luck removing it. Using this method, I mounted my Session to the underside of this visor. The camera is so light that I barely even notice it’s there. I can just have this with me all the time and never miss a shot again. Like GoPro’s other cameras, the Session has Quick Capture, which means that pushing the record button activates the camera from an off state. Another push of the button stops the recording and turns the camera off. By only recording what I need, I’ve been able to stretch the battery well beyond a full day of shooting. The video quality is pretty good and surprisingly stable. So I’m pretty happy with my purchase, and loving the camera, but I did notice something pretty surprising… My Hero Black fits in the same exact spot on this helmet, maybe even better. I weighed these cameras and was surprised to find that they’re identical. I started second guessing myself, and weighed them again with the helmet, only to obtain the same result. So did I waste my money? If it’s not smaller or lighter, what am I gaining? Well for one it’s cheaper. When this camera first hit the shelves it was $400, which is just absurd. Now that it’s only $200, it’s actually one of the most affordable GoPro cameras available. It’s not as powerful as the Silver or the Black, but it still does shoot at 60 frames per second, and has Superview mode for nice first person shots. Another great thing about the Session is that it’s water resistant. While water resistance isn’t usually important to me, it’s nice to know that my equipment will survive the mud or the rain. The Hero Black requires this water resistant housing, which makes it crazy heavy, and super dorky looking. The Session is black on all sides, and blends in with my equipment. Since I do a lot of third person shooting, a big old GoPro sticking off the top of my head would sort of ruin the shot. The session also has this smooth glass across the front which allows you to just wipe it off with your shirt. Over the weekend, I used my Session and a headstrap to go out into the cruise port as the ships were leaving. You see that dot right there? That’s me. As the ships pass the water gets sucked out of the channel. I was in up to my neck before. As soon as the ship exits the channel, the water comes rushing back in, which is freakin awesome. I’m getting a terrible idea for bike video right now, but we’ll just have to wait and see how that pans out. In any case, it was really cool to be able to capture this moment with a camera so small and light. By always having this indestructible little cube on me, I’m hoping to get a lot more shots that I would have otherwise missed. I’m liking the Hero Session. Loading Screens, and loading bars; it's a question which plagued my mind for many years. Why, when loading games from audio tape or cassette software do many home computers display horizontal raster bars on screen in varying colours? Why don't we have a picture of a little guy landing on the moon? WHY DO WE HAVE LOADING BANDS? Bars? Rasters? Lines? Loading Lines??! Whatever you want to call them? Well, in this episode of Byte Size, I'll be finding out why. Popular machines like the Sinclair Spectrum, Commodore 64 and Amstrad CPC all featured these bands in one form or another. Even early machines like the ZX81 featured something similar (although this was a design quirk more than intentional), but it's something I find particularly fascinating none the less, and after all, what's Byte Size about if it isn't unearthing knowledge from old technology quirks. Grab your WH Smith cassette deck, a copy of Jet Set Willy and join me. Featured in this video are; Spectrum Loading Screens C64 Loading Screens Amstrad CPC Loading Screens BBC Micro Loading Screens It's a loading screen bonanza. I experiment with thermite to determine the rate of reaction. Thermite powder is burned in a pyrex tube and filmed from the side, so the reaction front can be seen moving through the powder. I was amazed at how slow the reaction progressed - It's extremely dependent on the container. Based on the results I observed, I would expect the fastest achievable reaction would be loosely-packed powder in a large and low-aspect-ratio thermally insulating vessel like a flowerpot. Bill describes the Alignment Optical Telescope used in the Lunar Module on the Apollo missions to the moon. This telescope took star sightings which were used to align the Module's guidance system. Bill shows how the telescope used an Archimedes spiral inscribed on its eyepiece to replace the heavy motors, worm gears, and rigid tracks used in a traditional sextant -- this shaved weight from the Lunar Module and allowed it to carry more fuel. “On 26th June the people of Catalonia, the people of Spain, have a unique opportunity to vote in a progressive government that will save the European Union from itself and from the disaster caused by the self-defeating austerity breeding unbearable authoritarianism. The incumbent prime minister of the right-wing People’s Party behaves like a spoilt child in Brussels, begging to be allowed to violate the unenforceable rules. The next prime minister of Spain, representing a progressive government that the Spanish voters now have the opportunity to bring to power, must call forth a EU summit that discusses and draws up new, rational, enforceable rules. Only then can Spain breathe again in a Europe that re-discovers its poise, rationality and humanity. This is why the 26th of June presents a unique opportunity, one that will be realised as long as the next government refuses to commit to existing policies and to Rajoy’s and Dos Guindos’ prior commitments to the Eurogroup.” SUBSCRIBE --------------------- DiEM25: https://www.youtube.com/c/DiEM25official SUPPORT --------------------- Join: https://diem25.org/join Donate to DiEM25: https://diem25.org/donate

If you head over to http://www.moddb.com/mods/doom-emulation you will find the Doom 4 Emulation MOD. This mod allows you to "emulate" Doom 4 in the original Doom engine. In this example I'm using ZDoom (which allows you to do all manner of fancy things in Doom) to demonstrate this on the original Doom.wad file. I cannot underestimate how much fun this modification is, and although I'm yet to experience the real Doom 4 myself, this feels pretty darn good in the mean time!

ON SOUNDCLOUD https://soundcloud.com/…/look-mum-no-computer-girls-like-yo… :::::::: More Pictures/videos/info go to WWW.ZIBRAZIBRAZIBRA.COM and check out the page MACHINES. it starts with an analog synth voice playing the riff from the song, which was played in before on an Arduino Projects midi sequence modules which just plays from the start because it was a pig to play right and i ran through it a fair few times! with some drums coming through from the sequencer on the left cabinet, with some Hexinverter Électronique 808 toms. then playing a riff on the sequencer at the top with the white knobs made by quite a few arduinos, which triggers one of the SparkFun Electronics, Inc. wav triggers which plays the samples and the pads!, which is running into a bank of delays, made a module with 6 pt2399 delays in, proper useful! but each of the 6 are used in different channels on this. after that a high oscillator of the analog synth voice is turned on which is going through a clock multiplier and a vca, hence the ratcheting!. this then makes way for the gameboy part which is the higher melody that goes through one of the arduino midi sequencers, based on this http://brendanclarke.com/…/04/23/arduino-based-midi-sequen…/ . it sort of quantizes late what you play, so you gotta play slightly ahead of the clock. bit annoying but whatever! works. the analog bass synth is going through a 3x10 matrix mixer that I'm adjusting between 2 different distortion channels of the bass synth, a bit crushing channel and a reverb channel. in the bass voice it is also being side chained by an inverted signal coming from an ADSR, which is just coming out the same trigger the 909 kick (hex inverter yet again) is getting. trusty ms10, going through a Strymon big sky and a digital delay in the front cabinet. which is the one I'm feed backing half way through. loads of modulation on the delays going around and thats about it. loads of arduino nanos, playing Ardcores which is running the FAC DRUMS with different samples (lots of them) like the high hats that are being multiplied and sounds like nasty digital rain.... and ginkosynthese's codes for the clock multipliers. In this video I demonstrate DBX Discs, and am blown away to find that that this forgotten 40-odd year old technology sounds as good (or better) than anything that I've ever heard. You can still find old DBX Disc decoders on ebay http://goo.gl/3dC8qX where you can also find some DBX encoded records. The Discogs marketplace is also a good place to source DBX discs. https://www.discogs.com/search/?q=dbx+encoded&type=all If you want to read the vinyl inlay card info about DBX disc - it can be downloaded from here: http://pc.cd/pUPctalK My related blog entry: http://www.techmoan.com/blog/2016/6/5/retro-hifi-the-dbx-disc.html Click here to subscribe: http://www.youtube.com/user/Techmoan?sub_confirmation=1 This channel can be supported via Patreon at https://www.patreon.com/techmoan One more thing - I didn't try this before because to me it seemed a patently ludicrous idea....however seeing as so many asked for this, today I tried playing a non-dbx vinyl record through the decoder to see what happened. It should come as no surprise to anyone that when you use a decoder to decode something that hasn't been encoded....it doesn't work.. The results sounded terrible. Like putting a pillow over a speaker. Or putting your fingers in your ears. Unlistenable. Rubbish. Awful.. Poor. Bad. As The Jam once said "The public gets what the public wants"....so in a (soon to be proved misguided) attempt to placate the angry crowds brandishing pitchforks and flaming torches - HERE IS A DIGITAL RECORDING of the first two minutes of Pramlatta's Hips. http://pc.cd/7pCctalK Wow whatever happened to humour....so many people pointing out “that’s not a lady” on the DBX information card. I mean come on, there is a humourous air to the video overall, it’s got flipping puppets in it so you know straight off it’s not going be the News At Ten, then on top of that it actually says “*j/k” overlaid on the screen during the joke itself. I don’t know how it would be possible to to signpost a joke any more that that other than saying...”the following words are a joke” but that would surely become tiresome. Subscriber ramps: https://www.instagram.com/explore/tags/sbhramp/ In another video we built a kicker ramp with a little down slope for beginners. That ramp now lives at Virginia Key Mountain Bike Park in Miami, right next to the teeter totter. It works exactly as designed, and the kids love it. This ramp will live a happy life, and teach many riders how to get air for the first time. If you haven’t seen the video on that ramp, check the description for a link. People have been asking me to build a bigger ramp, but that’s not going to happen until I have a place to put one. Even the last ramp was a pain to haul around. If I had a place to put a bigger ramp, I’d probably be building a dirt jump as we speak. In fact, what I really need is a smaller ramp that I can bring places. This would get far more use, and be an important prop in future videos. Let’s build one right now. We’re buying one sheet of plywood because that’s the minimum amount we can get. We’re going to have a ton of wood left over. Because this ramp is small enough to bring indoors or leave in the trunk of a car, I don’t need pressure treated plywood or stainless hardware. James is here to help me again, and to make sure that we’re following all safety precautions. First we’ll trace the sides of the ramp on the plywood. It’s 3 feet long, 12 inches high, and has a downslope 6 inches from the end. This sloped part looks useless, but it’s there to stabilize the ramp and keep it from flipping forwards when you hit it going fast. To trace a nice mellow curve, we’ll use the PVC pipe method. This bend should give us a pretty serious pop, without being too steep for mountain bike wheels. Now that we’re done tracing, we’ll cut out the shape with a jigsaw. Tracing another piece from the first one will ensure that both sides are identical. With a chop saw, we’ll make our 16 inch cross bars from this 2x4. These will be fastened to the sides with deck screws to create the frame of the ramp. To cut our surface, we need to measure the curve, and add a couple of inches to the end. With a flexible ruler, this is an easy task. As is the case with plywood, it bends easily and stays in place with screws. A little sanding, and our portable kicker ramp is ready to ride. As you can see, we’ve barely used any wood compared to our last project. Time to go for a ride. I actually don’t know many BMX tricks, but maybe this ramp will give me the opportunity to learn some. This ramp turned out so lightweight, that I can carry it on my bike fairly easily. With a bike trailer, transport would be even easier. This gives us the opportunity to make any downslope into a landing, so I’ll be keeping my eyes open for more places to set this up. If you want to build this ramp I think it’s easy enough by just looking at what we did here, but I left some basic measurements in the description. Yours can be longer, wider, or steeper, but I think that this size is a pretty nice balance for portability. If you’ve already built the last ramp, or even a ramp influenced by the videos on this channel, hashtag it so we can all admire it. Better yet, post a video clip! #SBHramp Thanks for riding with me today, and I’ll see you next time. Here's the old ramp: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lxvYN4pfjFQ MEASUREMENTS Height: 12 inches Width: 16 inches Length (bottom): 36 inches Length (top): 30 inches So the slope at the back of the ramp starts 6 inches from the end. This part makes the ramp more stable by adding some footing. MATERIALS Some plywood. 1/2" or 9/16" is fine One 2x4 Drywall or deck screws, not too long: 1 5/8" is good TOOLS Jigsaw Drill Chop saw or circular saw is nice, but you could use the jigsaw in a pinch. So you're on a trip someplace, or maybe you’re new to an area. How do you find bike trails to ride? In the age of the Internet this may seem easy to most of us, and it is. Still many beginners have no place to start, so let's take a look at a few ways you can find trails and bike parks. First off, the map program in your phone works for this. Just center your location and type in "mountain bike trails". For well established parks this always works, but it doesn't give you much info. Sometimes you can find pictures and even reviews, but generally you won’t get the location of the entrance or the difficulty level of the terrain. Luckily there are sites that serve as directories for bike trails. My personal favorite is Singletracks.com but there are others. This video is not an advertisement for Singletracks, so feel free to link your favorite site in the comments. Still, I’m familiar with their site, so let’s take a look how you can plan a trip by using a mountain bike trail directory. The site detects your location and shows you all the trails that have been added by others. I see the usual suspects, but there’s one over here I’ve never seen before. West Delray. That’s not far from me at all. Apparently they have mosquitos there the size of pterodactyls. This park is rated a 3 of 5, but ratings mean nothing without reading the reviews. I always pay attention to the date the review was written, because trails change, trees grow, and volunteers can do a lot. In the question and answer section, you can get really useful info if you’re planning a trip, like whether or not there are bathrooms and where you can expect to find parking. From what I’ve read, it looks West Delray is rough and sandy with lots of roots. To be honest I usually don’t care much for roots, but almost every review has the word “fun” in it. I’ve gotta check this place out and see for myself. Thanks to Singletracks, I know to look out for the Pterosaurs. Right at the entrance, is this gem of a feature. So far, this looks promising. As stated in the reviews, West Delray has a ton of roots and rough terrain, but it’s not the annoying kind. The trail seems to leverage the roots in a strategic and intentional way. While there’s not much elevation here, the trails are really fun. Whoever maintains this place is particularly creative, and definitely has a sense of humor. Does anyone really make it through here? I guess with a carefully planned bunnyhop you could get your bars high enough, but I’ll take the bypass—something I rarely do. I was on the edge of my seat at every turn, eager to see what other unique features West Delray had in store. Here we have a really short 70% grade climb, with a 50% grade as a bypass. The reward is a fun little set of jumps that lead into another trail. The dark twisty routes through the mangroves can give you some serious tunnel vision if you pick up enough speed. We rode until it started to get dark, but I still don’t think I’ve seen all the trails in this relatively small park. Since you can’t pick up much speed on these twisty switchbacks, it takes a long time to rack up miles here. I’ll definitely need to come back, ride every little corner, and get some more video footage for a more extensive review. I was grinning from ear to ear riding this very refreshing trail. In what is basically a swamp, some very dedicated volunteers have created a fun and challenging riding spot. So the moral of the story is, there are always new places to discover. Use the Internet to your advantage and just maybe, you’ll find a new riding spot right in your own backyard. Thanks for riding with me today and I’ll see you next time.
