We've come along way since the invention of the phonograph. But up to this point, artificial sound was still decidedly artificial sounding. "High fidelity" isn't really one technology, but a collection of technologies that combined to create natural sounding recordings. Similarly, stereo sound, though now completely universal, had to be introduced. This episode explores what makes a good high fidelity recording, and how stereo came to be.

For your viewing pleasure (and possibly disagreement), I proudly present my top 7 Atari ST Games from the course of time. Well, these are the top 7 games which sprang to my mind at least, and surely that's the same thing isn't it? The Atari ST was a fine machine and although it wasn't quite up to the Amiga standard, it came pretty darn close. It's also a machine full of nostalgic memories for me, serving as a nice stop gap between my Commodore 64 and Amiga 600. Game on Mother Feckurrrrrr. Elevator Action on the Spectrum is a port of the arcade classic released in 1983. This version from 1987 is an admirable effort on the Spectrum's limited hardware, and in many ways, I actually prefer it, especially the 128k musical loop which goes round and round and round... honestly, I really do love that little bit of music, despite it's shortness. The good thing about staying in a motel is that it’s easy to wheel your bike in and out, even on the second floor. Although I’m over 4 hours away from my house, I’m only 10 minutes away from Santos Mountain bike park. I was invited here by professional mountain biker and fellow YouTuber, Phil Kmetz. We’re going to do some riding and get some video clips. Phil has ridden in all four corners of the planet, but chose to drive 10 hours to ride in Ocala FL on spring break. Now I must admit, when I moved down here I didn’t even expect to see mountain bike trails, let alone good ones, but I was thrown for a loop. Through sheer ingenuity and perseverance, Floridians have created some top notch singletrack. A prime example of this is Santos. Today is the Fat Tire Festival. Thousands of riders have come here from out of town to ride demo bikes, hit the freeride section, and enjoy miles and miles of singletrack in the main part of the park. At Santos, there’s a particular section that’s somewhat isolated from all the other trails—a playground for advanced riders, called Vortex. This sign implies a high possibility of destroying your bike or leaving in an ambulance so I think we’re in the right place. When you get into the trailhead, the first thing you see is a small set of dirt jumps with wooden lips. I could ride these all day. Venture a few more yards into the park, and you’ll see—banana hammock. It’s a good time. Phil and I warmed up around the front of the park and even played a short lived game of BIKE, which I lost. I got one letter on him with a tree ride, but that was it. Time to ride some singletrack. Pretty much everything here at Santos is double black diamond. The sign at the front of the trailhead warns you about checking out the trails before you blast through them, but that’s just for newbs right? Yeah I’ve got this under control. Phil tried to warn me, but I found myself face to face with an unexpected hairpin turn after this hump. I was warned, by both Phil and the sign, but luckily I bailed just in time. After the big crowds left the “Vortex Pit” I got to watch Phil session this double. He’s got exquisite taste in old school BMX tricks. It’s been years since I rode dirt jumps, so next time I’ll be spending a lot more in this pit. Before the sun set I did manage to do a real sloppy 360 over this tabletop. I ended this trip limping, and with scrapes down my torso. Although I did get to ride for an hour the following morning, this trip was just too short. After seeing what Santos had to offer I’m really pumped to check out more mountain bike parks, even if it means traveling a few hours. The locals here in Ocala are some of the coolest, friendliest, and skilled riders I’ve met. What they’ve built here is incredible, and I can’t wait to come back real soon. Thanks for riding with me today, and I’ll see you next time. Subscribe to Phil's Channel https://www.youtube.com/user/ThePhilkmetz

Once I was seven years old It was a big big world, but we thought we were bigger Pushing each other to the limits, we were learning quicker By eleven smoking herb and drinking burning liquor Never rich so we were out to make that steady figure Once I was eleven years old. My daddy told me, "Go get yourself a wife or you'll be lonely." Once I was eleven years old I always had that dream like my daddy before me So I started writing songs, I started writing stories Something about that glory, Just always seemed to bore me 'Cause only those I really love will ever really know me Once I was twenty years old. My story got told Before the morning sun, when life was lonely Once I was twenty years old (Lukas Graham!) I only see my goals, I don't believe in failure 'Cause I know the smallest voices. They can make it major I got my boys with me at least those in favor And if we don't meet before I leave, I hope I'll see you later Once I was twenty years old. My story got told I was writing about everything I saw before me Once I was twenty years old Soon we'll be thirty years old, Our songs have been sold We've traveled around the world and we're still roaming Soon we'll be thirty years old I'm still learning about life My woman brought children for me So I can sing them all my songs And I can tell them stories Most of my boys are with me Some are still out seeking glory And some I had to leave behind My brother I'm still sorry Soon I'll be sixty years old, my daddy got sixty-one Remember life and then your life becomes a better one I made a man so happy when I wrote a letter once I hope my children come and visit once or twice a month [2x] Soon I'll be sixty years old, Will I think the world is cold Or will I have a lot of children who can warm me? Soon I'll be sixty years old Once I was seven years old, my mama told me, "Go make yourself some friends or you'll be lonely." Once I was seven years old Once I was seven years old

Next Video: https://youtu.be/hgaMhWz744g Subscribe to Phil Kmetz: https://www.youtube.com/user/ThePhilkmetz Shirts available now! https://bermpeak.com/collections/casual-apparel Today is a very special day… not just for me, but for the vocal group of subscribers who want me to ride a full suspension mountain bike. Introducing the newest member of the squad. The Diamondback Mission 2, a capable all-mountain full suspension bike with everything I need to get into lots of trouble. While I’ve always been a huge fan of hardtails, I concede that the right kind of full suspension bike offers a ton of advantages. On descents the benefits are obvious, but a full squish can also help keep your rear wheel grounded during climbs. The rear shock has an adjustment for firmness and rebound, so I can adjust this on the fly for any type of riding I plan on doing. Just like my Sync’r Pro, the Mission 2 has super wide bars, a short stem, and a slack headtube. In fact, sitting on this bike feels remarkably familiar. I even have matching dropper posts now. While I would like to take my time putting this bike together, I’m on a mission today. Pun intended. You see, a few weeks ago I got an email from Phil Kmetz, a professional mountain biker and fellow YouTuber who I actually have a lot in common with. He let me know about the Santos Fat Tire Festival, which would be taking place only 4 hours away from me, in central Florida. I’m leaving for that event in just a few hours to ride the trails, hang out with Phil, and of course make videos. I need to get this thing assembled, finish up work, and make sure I have all my batteries and SD cards. My sister Emily is coming along to help film and do a little riding at Santos. This bike is going to play a central role in all that, because Santos isn’t your average Florida mountain bike park…especially if you’re visiting the Vortex Complex. There, you’ll find a series of double black diamond singletrack runs, big dirt jumps, and elevation changes that make you forget you’re in Florida. It’s gonna to be interesting to get accustomed to this bike, and all the squishiness it has to offer. With tons of travel, a dropper post, and a super aggressive all mountain geometry, I can’t even process the amount of fun I’m going to have this weekend, but of course, I’ll be bringing both my bikes. With a reckless all mountain hardtail, and a full suspension battle machine in tow, this is gonna be awesome. Thanks for riding with me today… Phil and I will see you at Santos. We’ll both be posting videos, so don’t forget to subscribe to Phil Kmetz.

Duke Nukem 3D.. What a game... such a good game that we had to wait until 1996 and for PC's to advance enough to display the fluid graphics and the immense landscapes. BUT then, in 1998, it bloody lands on the Sega Mega Drive courtesy of Tec Toy! Yep, Duke Nukem 3D on the Mega Drive/Genesis... It seems we could have had the glory of Duke way back in the early 90s, only if someone had pulled their finger out! To be fair, this isn't anything much like the true Duke Nukem 3D, but it's a valiant effort on the Sega Mega Drive, even if it only features only episode (Lunar Apocalypse) and it's immensely cut down. This is a Mega Drive, what do you expect? The game itself has recently been re-released by Piko Interactive on the Genesis/Mega Drive and you can pick up a copy from https://pikointeractive.com/blog/duke-nukem-3d-released-for-sega-genesis/ ☟Subcribe☟ https://www.youtube.com/user/nostalgianerdvideos?sub_confirmation=1 ✊Support Me! ✊ Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/nostalgianerd?ty=h Visit my eBay Shop: http://ebay.to/1QQpYyy Buy From Amazon (affiliate): http://amzn.to/1OzCQWR ★Nerd Social★ Twitter: http://www.twitter.com/nostalnerd Face: http://www.facebook.com/nostalnerd Instagram: http://www.instagram.com/nostalgianerd Web: http://www.nostalgianerd.com ★Equipment★ Corel Video Studio Ultimate X7 Blue Snowball Microphone ♜Resources♜

From the Chevy Volt, to the Nissan Leaf, to the Tesla Model S, electric cars seem to be the way of the future. Join me as we explore a typical wind farm and discuss the potential for wind energy and electric cars. The Sinclair QL was seen by some as the successor to the Sinclair Spectrum, but in reality, it was aimed at the professional, business and serious home user markets. Launching in January 1984 by mail order (albeit with a several month shipping delay), the QL (standing for Quantum Leap) was touted by Sinclair themselves as the solution to fend off IBM, Commodore, Acorn and Apple, who had or were soon to be releasing, more professional systems. The reality was that the QL was rushed leading to many issues with early models, and it wasn't until 1985 and a half hearted re-launch that the system was really fully functional. Unfortunately by this point, the damage had been done, and combined with the financial difficulties Sinclair were facing, it meant that production would soon cease, leaving the QL dead in the water. Thankfully there's a huge QL community in the present day, with software and even hardware still developed for this reasonably rare machine. The fact that it only sold 150,000 units makes this even more remarkable and is surely a testament to how expandable and possibly ahead of it's time (just like the Sinclair C5), the machine really was. Join me as I go on a retrospective through the story of this machine from before it's conception to it's market failure, along with technical specifications and of course, a look at the applications and QL games available on the platform. ☟Subcribe☟ https://www.youtube.com/user/nostalgianerdvideos?sub_confirmation=1 ✊Support Me! ✊ Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/nostalgianerd?ty=h Visit my eBay Shop: http://ebay.to/1QQpYyy Buy From Amazon (affiliate): http://amzn.to/1OzCQWR ★Nerd Social★ Twitter: http://www.twitter.com/nostalnerd Face: http://www.facebook.com/nostalnerd Instagram: http://www.instagram.com/nostalgianerd Web: http://www.nostalgianerd.com ★Equipment★ Lumix G6 with Vario 14-42mm Lens Nikon D3200 with 40mm Macro Corel Video Studio Ultimate X7 Corel Paint Shop Pro X6 Blue Snowball Microphone ♜Resources♜ The BG Music is provided by the amazing SnowKitten - https://twitter.com/elikisnowkitten - and is used with permission.
