Oooh When you nod your head yes But you wanna say no What do you mean? Heeey When you don’t want me to move But you tell me to go What do you mean? What do you mean? Said we’re running out of time What do you mean? Oh oh oh What do you mean? Better make up your mind What do you mean? You’re so indecisive of what I’m saying Trying to catch the beat, make up your heart. Don't know if you're happy, or complaining. Don’t want for us to end where do I start First you wanna go to the left and you want to turn right Wanna argue all day, making love all night. First you up and you’re down and then between Ohh I really want to know… What do you mean? When you nod your head yes But you wanna say no What do you mean? When you don't want me to move But you tell me to go What do you mean? What do you mean? Said we’re running out of time What do you mean?

Imaginary numbers are not some wild invention, they are the deep and natural result of extending our number system. Imaginary numbers are all about the discovery of numbers existing not in one dimension along the number line, but in full two dimensional space. Accepting this not only gives us more rich and complete mathematics, but also unlocks a ridiculous amount of very real, very tangible problems in science and engineering. Part 1: Introduction Part 2: A Little History Part 3: Cardan's Problem Part 4: Bombelli's Solution Part 5: Numbers are Two Dimensional Part 6: The Complex Plane Part 7: Complex Multiplication Part 8: Math Wizardry Part 9: Closure Part 10: Complex Functions Part 11: Wandering in Four Dimensions Part 12: Riemann's Solution Part 13: Riemann Surfaces Thanks to viewer "David O" for this correction: The claim that Euler didn’t know what to do with negative numbers, or thought they were greater than infinity, is a misinterpretation of his On Divergent Series paper. Euler argued that, for infinite series, the word “sum” should mean the original finite expression from which the series originates. For example, applying the geometric series formula "1/(1–r) = 1 + r + r^2 + r^3 + …" with r = 2 gives the formal result "–1 = 1 + 2 + 4 + 8 + …”. However, he did not mean that negative numbers themselves are infinite, nor that such “sums” are equal in the ordinary arithmetic sense for divergent series. Follow the making of Zak Ove’s spectacular stilt walker sculptures inspired by carnival and created for the British Museum. The sculptures are on display in the Great Court until 13 September 2015 as part of the British Museum’s season Celebrating Africa: http://www.britishmuseum.org/whats_on/celebrating_africa.aspx Zak Ové (b. 1966) lives and works in London and Trinidad. He works between sculpture, film and photography. His work portrays the emancipation of personal existence through incarnation with an ‘other self’, showing us the power of play to free an individual from the contained experience of the self. This in turn is filtered through his own personal and cultural upbringing, growing up in London and Trinidad. Zak’s Moko Jumbie carnival characters draw on African mythology and stories of slave resistance which have fed the roots of contemporary carnival from Trinidad to Notting Hill. As Zak says, 'What I’ve tried to do is to impregnate mythologies with new materials, dialogue and language that give them a new lease of life into a new millennium. How do I take African ancestry and make it Africa’s tomorrow? At the heart of my fascination with Trinidad carnival was its defiance and act of revolution in how its people, transformed by costume and masquerade were able to find a sense of emancipation for themselves from a colonised situation. So what I’m suggesting is that by wearing costume and freeing one’s mind I can be anything.' 'British Museum Curator] Chris [Spring] had come to me because I was somewhat of an expert on Trinidad Carnival – I’d been documenting and shooting for at least 10 years prior and I come from family that were very much involved in the making of costumes and the making of carnival. My grandparents ran a big hardware store in the centre of Port of Spain that’s been in existence since the late 1800s – and that supplied all the materials for the Obeah practitioners, for, if you like, people that were doing witchcraft. … The response I’ve got from the community in Trinidad has been amazing.' ‘I’m the son of Britain’s first black filmmaker who, during my own childhood, worked incredibly hard to pioneer the roots of Trinidad carnival back in Africa, back in India, back in Spain and across Europe, so I was very fortunate to see all the stem lines that were a part of that... in terms of that becoming a very multicultural experience.' There will be a longer film on Zak's work available here soon – subscribe to our channel now so you never miss an update; https://goo.gl/pHv5Wb

A break at Lillestrøm Kultursenter , Norway before the show!
So yeah, my foot isn't broken. Sure, I'll be off my bike for a little while, but I'll be back 100% when everything heals. In the meantime there will be repair videos, Q/A, and plenty of other stuff, minus the riding demonstrations.
Hey, God here. One and only. Sometimes I like to check in on what my disciples are up to on the internet. All good stuff. Peace and love. Thank you for believing.
Here's the next video: https://youtu.be/UjmlhGpqXbw Most cyclists are familiar with fixed gear bikes, or fixies. Amidst the rising popularity of fixies came a sport called fixed gear freestyle. It's a mix of BMX and fixed gear. The bikes have the reliability and simplicity of a fixie, the sturdiness of a bmx, 26" wheels, and some other unique details. There are no brakes, and your feet are attached to the pedals with clips or straps. Sounds fuckin awesome to me... but last night I had the opportunity to ride one of these bikes at Brian Piccolo skatepark, and I quickly learned why so few people can master this disciple. The first thing I'll have you know is that fixed gear freestyle is hard as shit. You're always pedaling, and any time you stop you'r either airborne or skidding. Anyone who does this successfully deserves serious respect, but the truth is that to an outsider it doesn't look more impressive than BMX. We know better, of course, but a bystander would never be able to appreciate the nuances of different drivetrain types. For that reason, it's difficult to make the sport appeal to the masses. So sadly, it hasn't proliferated the way mountain biking, bmx, or trials have. Maybe it's better as a niche anyway. It's easily the most difficult cycling disciple next to trials. Naturally, I couldn't help but think of what I could do on this bike if it could coast, so I came up with the brilliant idea of taking the chain off and using the ramps to pump around the skatepark. That was the beginning of the end. Combine, this with a bike I'm not used to, fatigue, and 10 years since my last skatepark visit, and well, I smashed my foot. My foot got smashed so hard that I honestly didn't even have words. I was just sad, knowing I would hobble away and not be able to ride for a while. If my calcaneus was shattered, it would mean my foot would never be the same. The pain was terrible, but that thought was much worse. I already had all the stuff the doctor gave me the last time this happened, so I waited until the next day and took a trip to the podiatrist. She had pretty "good" news for me. I'll ride again, and nothing is shattered. Until I heal up, I have plenty in store, including hacks, question & answer, and more. I also have a lot of friends who can put down some demonstrations while I explain, so the show goes on!

And here we have a short list of the great things, big and small, that contribute to the Porsche 944 being fantastic.
It all started with a fairly normal event for a museum: a member of the public bringing in an old family heirloom. However the heirloom – a cuneiform tablet from around 1750 BC – proved to be one in a million. Dr Irving Finkel, Deputy Keeper of Middle East at the British Museum, proceeded to decipher this tablet. In doing so, he discovered the earliest account of the ancient Babylonian ‘Story of the Flood’ – an account closely related to the biblical account of Noah. The sixty-line passage not only provided the materials and measurements required to build the ark, it also suggested that the vessel was round. This film is a small part of the journey Irving Finkel took from deciphering the text to building a replica ark with a team of archaeological boat builders. For the full story see: Irving Finkel's 'The Ark Before Noah: Decoding the Story of the Flood' available here: http://goo.gl/76IhhR http://www.amazon.co.uk/The-Ark-Before-Noah-Decoding/dp/1444757059 Channel 4’s 'The Real Noah’s Ark' produced by Blink Films available here: http://goo.gl/aqd5zu
This simple, but flashy lick will help you to break out of these box patterns. I also use it to demonstrate how to play a line inspired by Richie Blackmore from Burn by Deep Purple. 2:01 "Burn" inspired lick. When people first learn to play the guitar, they generally learn all the basic scale positions up and down the neck. One of the side effects of this is that pretty soon they find themselves locked into one position and find it difficult to move to other parts of the neck. A PDF of the licks can be found below. http://1drv.ms/1JcKXdT Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/SixStringsAttachedTV

Pay What You Want single and album pre-order available exclusively here: http://jongomm.com/music Guitar Tab available here: http://jongomm.com/guitar-tabs This is the second of nine new videos from the Live In The Acoustic Asylum sessions. This song is an angry metaphor about Western anti-terror propaganda, with a president or prime minister represented as a Wild West snake oil salesman, striking fear into the hearts of the townspeople with tales of scary invaders, and using that as an excuse to send The Weather Machine to far-flung poverty stricken regions in the East. SPOILER ALERT: The Machine is supposed to bring rain to the desert to transform it into a Western paradise, but instead it rains down fire and destruction. Musically it's a metal-heavy Arabic-influenced onslaught. It might offend the sensibilities of some of my acoustic purist fans (sorry folks), but to me being a songwriter is sometimes about more than painting pretty pictures. CREDITS: I played the song on Wilma, my trusty Lowden guitar, fitted with Newtone Jon Gomm signature strings and Bill Keith banjo tuners, and tuned to CGCEGC. The sound is coming primarily from a Fishman Rare Earth Blend pickup. My vocal mic is a Sontronics STC-80. I used various effects pedals, mostly Boss. Video filmed by Owen Plummer and Danielle Millea, directed and edited by Owen Plummer. Audio engineered and produced by Ed Heaton (The Coal Room, Leeds) and Jon Gomm. Mastered by Tom at Hippocratic Mastering. This is a bike check on my Trek 4 Series. It’s a very ordinary bike. I definitely left a few things out here, but I wanted to show you guys my bike and find an excuse to use some of this extra B-roll I’ve been accumulating. The bike you’ve been seeing most is a Trek 4 series, or a 4900 to be exact. It’s a 26” hardtail with an aluminum frame. About 5 years ago, I bought this bike new for a little less than $1000. Somewhere along the way, I cracked the frame, which trek replaced under warranty. It was around then that I replaced just about every single part on the bike, including the cranks and wheels. It’s safe to say you’ll never see another trek 4900 with this exact setup. My wheels are pretty good, but I can’t remember what brand they are. They’re double walled, which means they are beefier than what originally came on the bike. The tires are Holy Rollers by Maxxis. While they aren’t the best trail tires in the world, they’re awesome for riding street. That’s why I like them. Moving on to the brakes, they’re actually one of the few original parts on the bike. These shimano hydraulic disc brakes are entry level, but regarded as some of the most reliable ever made. This set has not been bled once in over 5 years. They’re a little big and ugly compared to more modern ones, but they still works great. My cranks are race face—not sure what model, but the whole set was like $100. I removed the 3 stock chainrings on the front of the bike and replaced them with one single speed chainring from Raceface as well. This is known as the narrow wide, and I have another video reviewing it. Check the description. The pedals are just some off brand aluminum platform pedals. I like them. My rear derailleur gets replaced a lot, so currently I’m running a forté, which is actually made by the same company as nashbar. Because I jump around a lot, I’ve added an additional guide to keep the chain from popping off. 90% of the time it’s not necessary, but it really makes the whole drivetrain bulletproof when I’m riding like an asshole. This is called a bionicon c-guide eco. I love this thing, but it mysteriously disappeared from Amazon.com. Hopefully it becomes available again. This saddle is probably the nicest part on my entire bike. It’s made by a company called “selle” which is known for high end racing saddles. This was on my road bike, but I loved it so much that I moved it over to my mountain bike. The saddle is attached to my trusty DNM dropper post. I can’t stress enough how important this part has been for me. A dropper post is a seat post that can be raised or lowered on the fly. Just push the trigger with your thumb, and you can drop your seat way down low to ride aggressively. Pop it back up, and you’re at the perfect height to pedal fast. I used to adjust my saddle based on the trail I was about to ride, but now I pop it up and down as needed while riding. Overall, the bike weighs in at around 25 pounds. To me, this is pretty light, but there are plenty of mountain bikes way lighter than this. I don’t obsess over weight, because it actually makes a smaller difference than you think. Unless you’re racing, it won’t really hold you back. So as you can see, my bike is pretty average, but I don’t really want a different bike. I love this one because it fits me perfectly. I’m 5’ 4” tall, so most men’s bicycles are not made with me in mind. If I were racing, or didn’t have other things to spend my money on, maybe I’d get a high end trail bike. But, high end bikes don’t necessarily make you a better rider. They feel awesome, they look awesome, and believe me they run smooth as fuck, but it hurts your wallet when you break parts on them. I break things a lot, so I’m better of sticking to strong economical parts. I think If you’re afraid to break something, you’re afraid to learn something. The end of this video features a frame by frame walkthrough on bunny hopping your mountain bike. You can download the slow motion file here: http://goo.gl/y9HrHA Bunny hopping is a technique that everyone wants to master, but some riders have a lot of trouble learning. If you're having trouble and feel hopeless, this tutorial is just for you. If you already know how to bunny hop, I need your help in the comments section. There will be others with questions, so do your best to offer them helpful and friendly advice. No one should be deprived of bunny hopping. Let's start with a quick overview, then we'll go into detail. To bunny hop, you need to lift your front wheel off the ground, jump upwards, and push your bars forwards. To do this, you'll need to get your front wheel off the ground, so let's start there and talk about what could go wrong. First of all, if you're small like me, you'll need a small bike. If you're big, you'll be okay on a big bike. This is important because you'll need plenty of space between you and your bike to pull up and transfer weight around. If your bike is too big, you're going to have more trouble. So, make sure your bike is the right size for you. Second, bunny hops are much easier on a mountain bike with an aggressive slanted back geometry. By this, I mean that the top of your seat tube is lower than your bars. Dropping your saddle is an obvious way to achieve this geometry, but some bikes just aren't shaped right for this. In that case, you can get riser bars or a taller stem, which should help a little. Third, you probably have front suspension, and maybe even rear suspension. Because suspension is designed to absorb changes in the terrain, it will also absorb your movements, thereby dampening your efforts at a bunny hop. To counteract this, you need to preload. Preloading is when you compress your suspension and use the recoil to work with you instead of against you. On suspension forks, this means pushing down before you pop up, kinda like the spring on a pogo stick. You see how the shocks can actually help pop you off the ground? Well, they won't unless you preload. For bikes with rear suspension, you'll need to pull back even further to preload the rear suspension before you pop up. I find that it's just as easy to hop on a full suspension as it is on a hardtail, provided you take the suspension into consideration and get a feel for the recoil. Here's the frame by frame video: http://www.sethsbikehacks.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/framebyframe.mp4

In this video, we trace the history of the Black Church and its foundational role in the Civil Rights Movement. Too often, the struggles of the 1950s and 1960s are viewed as a sudden 20th-century phenomenon. In reality, the modern Civil Rights Era was the culmination of over a century of organized resistance, institutional independence, and profound theological courage—all anchored by Black pastors, church leaders, and congregations. We’ll explore how African-American Christianity evolved from the trauma of the slave trade through the fiery revivals of the Second Great Awakening. We will look closely at why early believers broke away from white-dominated denominations to build independent institutions like the AME Church, and how these churches became the essential infrastructure for social justice, community survival, and moral resistance against Jim Crow. Get it here: http://amzn.to/1WbvyA8 The other day, we took a look at all my video equipment, but since then I purchased a new camera, the GoPro Hero 4 black. I want to show you guys the main reason why this camera is such a game changer for me. As you may know, I usually film my videos alone. My camera man is a tripod. So how do we achieve the panning and zooming effects shown here without someone holding the camera? Well, it’s done afterwards in my video editing software with a tool called the “Ken Burns Effect”. This is basically a set of frames for the beginning and end of the video clip. The software pans and crops gradually throughout the clip from one frame to the other. While this can be done with any video clip, there is an appreciable loss in quality, since the software is essentially zooming in on the clip. This is where the Hero 4 Black shines. With video modes up to 4 times the resolution of 1080P, I have a ton of extra pixels to play around with. This clip was filmed with the gopro completely stationary while drama just laid there. If he was running, we could have made the frame follow him. While the GoPro Hero4 Black isn’t the only 4k camera on the market, it’s certainly one of the most affordable ones, at $500 bucks. Considering how small and convenient it is, the choice for me was a no brainer. If you make youtube videos, you’re the director, the editor, the camera operator, and the actor. You need all the help you can get, and for me, the Hero 4 black gives me way more flexibility. Thanks for watching, and ride safe.
Whether you’re doing one by accident or on purpose, endo’s are a great way to bust your ass on a mountain bike. That’s all the more reason to get comfortable with endo’s and practice them frequently. To do an endo, stand up off your seat and apply pressure to your front brake. For starters, try braking a little in the grass and getting your back wheel off the ground just a little bit. To progress further, don’t go pushing your brake harder. Instead, move your body further forwards to transfer weight to the front of the bike. On that note, be prepared to release your brake if you feel yourself going too far forwards, as it will allow your bike to return to a normal position. Even then, it may not be enough to save you. I almost always land on my feet when going over the bars, but I’ll stop short of telling you to practice this purposely. If you try doing endos enough, you’ll be no stranger to going over the bars. Once you feel comfortable with endos, you can learn to do an endo turn. These can be useful for turning around quickly, navigating a super sharp turn, or just adding some style to your riding. To do an endo turn, you need to turn and then go into an endo. You need to look where you want to be with your eyes to make this work. Once you’re up in an endo turn, you’ll need to maneuver your bike straight again, or the bike will kinda fold over on to the ground. You can do smaller endo turns and work your way up gradually. I’d say endo’s are extremely important to learn, not so much for the sake of doing endo’s, but rather as a training exercise to gain more control over your bike. Add this to the list of fun techniques you can practice on a mountain bike. Thanks for watching, and ride safe.

Christians today wonder if evangelicals are only concerned about politics (Donald Trump, etc). But evangelicals in the 20th century have a longer history, not only in terms of their engagement with politics and culture, but in their own internal struggles to understand their faith in the modern world. This video tells the story of Neo-Evangelicalism, or the brand of evangelicalism that strove to be intellectually credible after the fights over Fundamentalism. The founding of Christianity Today and Fuller Seminary, for example, are part of the story of this new wave of evangelical thinking and writing. About Ryan M. Reeves: Ryan M.
