So, here's the reason why I haven't been able to work on the MR2 recently and haven't made any new videos. We sold our daily driver - our good ol' Nissan Micra. Without a car I was unable to get to the garage where the MR2 is and work on it. The garage is actually quite far away from where I live. Talk about dedication. To honor the departure of our good friend the Micra I decided to make a little video from the scraps of footage I had on the PC. It's not much but its from the heart :) In the 4 years we had the car, it never broke down and never gave absolutely any trouble. The most reliable car I have seen. It was slow, leaned in the corners like a van but it was ridiculously practical, reliable, cheap to maintain and was a real charmer. A new daily driver is coming soon so I will be able to get back to working on the MR2 and finally put it back on the road. Thanks for all the support and a thank you to all my subscribers (All 88 of them :)! #d4a #micra #nissan #micrak12

Lens Cases iPhone 4: http://amzn.to/1RJbwx1 iPhone 5: http://amzn.to/1g2OtM2 iPhone 6: http://amzn.to/1Jbp0wa Galaxy S5: http://amzn.to/1HEppER Epoxy http://amzn.to/1SwYFck Action Camera Hardware http://amzn.to/1Dq6ZUu Give me more lens cases in the comments and I’ll add them to the description to help others! In a previous video, we learned how to make a really simple and inexpensive action camera out of an old smartphone. Today, we’re going to give that action camera a huge upgrade, by making it compatible with hundreds of popular action camera accessories. I’ll leave links to everything you need in the video description. The GoPro Hero, and many copy cat cameras use this interlocking mount to attach to chest straps, selfie sticks, and handlebar brackets. I’ll leave links to everything you need in the video description. You may have some stuff lying around from another action cam, or you could just pick up an assortment of this stuff for super cheap. We’ll need it for our build, and plus you can use these accessories later on. In the last video, we glued a wide angle lens to our iPhone 4 to get more action into the shot, but for this build we’ll be using a ready made phone case with a screw on wide angle lens. I poked around on Amazon and found many inexpensive versions of this that fit popular android phones, as well as other iPhone models. Now, we can just glue one of the action camera adapters on to the case and make it work with all our accessories. For this, I’m going to use epoxy, which is the only thing strong enough for this type of application. The epoxy comes out of the tube alongside a curing agent. Squeeze the mixture on to a flat surface and mix it together real good. Carefully glue the bracket to the case with the double flanged end protruding from the bottom, and leave it to dry for an hour. Epoxy is pretty nasty, so open a window and be sure not to get any of it anywhere. If you get it on your fingers, you may need to have them amputated. Just kidding. Between the assortment of brackets, a case, and epoxy, we’re barely breaking the $30 mark, and in this case, I have a 16 gig action camera with a screen, wifi, and onboard sharing abilities. How much would you pay for that? Let me know what you think in the comments.

We already learned how to do bunny hops by pulling up the front wheel pushing forwards on the handlebars. If you do that in reverse, it’s called a nollie. Nollies aren’t particularly useful for jumping over things, but they look cool and they’re fun to do. Start by learning how to pop your back wheel up by pushing forwards on your handlebars and pointing your toes down. Once you’re comfortable with this you can try pulling up on your bars to go into a nollie. Getting the bike to actually come up off the ground will take lots of practice and some experimentation, but once you learn how you can have a lot of fun. I’d recommend mastering this on flat surfaces before you go jumping off of things. Once you’ve learned to nollie, you can use it to do nose bonks. Nose bonks are fun as shit and they add tons of style to your trail and street riding. During a typical bunny hop over a rock or a log, push your front wheel down on to the obstacle....almost like doing a nollie in mid air. With a little practice, you can actually give yourself a second boost upwards. To start out, try learning on the corner of a curb, or even something small like a speed bump. This technique takes practice, so don’t get too frustrated if you don’t get it right away. Practice makes perfect. Let us know in the comments some of the other things you can do to add style to your trail riding.

Get it here: http://amzn.to/1TGW420 Today, we’ll be reviewing the Saris Freedom Bike Rack, which is a 2 bike, universal hitch rack. What is meant by “universal” is that it can carry any bike, save for frankenstein bikes like recumbents and trikes. Hybrid bikes, full suspension mountain bikes, and even beach cruisers are easy to carry with this setup. My last rack was a Saris Bones, which I would consider one of the best racks you can strap to a vehicle. It could carry none of these bikes. The Saris Freedom rack is among many other more expensive universal hitch racks, and at price point below $250 it’s definitely one of the most affordable racks in the category. All vehicles are different, but I had a 1 1/4” receiver installed on my Mazda CX5 for $175 at Uhaul. Since all I’ll be using it for is this rack, it’s perfectly sized and ready for use. If you have a larger receiver, an adapter is included to make it fit. Compared to other universal hitch racks, I’d say the Saris Freedom rack is pretty much just as easy to use as anything else out there. There are three straps per bike, while some of the more expensive units have one bracket and two traps, or an entirely different restraint system altogether. All in all, we’re talking about a matter of seconds to mount or remove a bike, so to me it’s not very important. I’d also like to mention that my rear lift-gate actually clears the rack somehow, which I never expected. Even my backup camera is still somewhat usable with two bikes mounted to it. So when we consider the upsides, the rack is inexpensive, easy to use, stable, and versatile. So what are the downsides? Well, it may be a matter of opinion but I think the rack looks kinda messy. If you’re leaving it on your car the bulk of the time it has a lot of straps hanging around, so it’s not a pretty sight. If you’re OCD, you could tuck them in and collapse the top part, which makes it look much neater. The second downside is durability. The two tire trays on the front of the rack broke within the first 4 months of owning it. In all fairness one of them was definitely my fault, while the other one may or may not have been due to someone backing into the car in a parking lot. I didn’t see it break, so I’ll never know. I called Saris, and without hesitation they took down my mailing address and sent me two replacements free of charge. I think it might have been the best warranty experience I’ve ever had. So, at least they stand by their products. All in all, I would recommend this rack to anyone looking for an affordable 2 bike universal hitch rack. Considering many of us will need to lay out money for a receiver and a rack, a more expensive unit could quickly become a $600 investment. For me, the Saris Freedom does the job just fine.

When you get into more advanced techniques on any type of bike, one of the most basic things to learn is standing in place without pedaling, otherwise known as a track stand. If biking were swimming, the track stand would be like treading water. There are many practical uses for a track stand, such as setting yourself up for a standing start during a race, or stopping for a second when someone is in your way on the trails. Even commuters use track stands to stop for pedestrians and other vehicles. The phrase “track stand” is derived from “track bikes”, which are fixed gear racing bikes designed for use in velodromes. Fixed gear bikes have a pretty optimal setup for track standing since their drivetrain moves whichever way the cranks do. Pedal backwards, and the bike goes backwards as well. This allows for a steady forward and backward rocking motion to keep the bike stable. For this reason, Fixed gear bikes are easier to track stand on, but you can simulate the same motion on any other bike by locking up the brakes, and releasing them while shifting your body weight backwards. Once you lurch back a bit, you can immediately push on your pedal to go forwards again. Then lock up your brake and repeat. If you’ve never done a track stand before, first try stopping the bike and immediately pedaling away. If you’re doing it clipped in, remember there’s a chance you could lose your balance and go down. Just saying. One more thing, since track stands don’t require a lot of space, it’s something you can practice in your house, apartment, or bedroom. If you can’t go to the trails due to weather, injury, or lack of transportation, use that time to work on your track stands. It’s more fun than it looks. Check out Two& http://www.twoand.com/

The fascinating, weird, and highly influential Holiness and Restoration movements that exploded out of the Second Great Awakening. When John Wesley’s theological concept of "Christian Perfection" collided with 19th-century American rugged individualism, the results were incredibly diverse. We'll explore how early evangelicals reacted to the health crises of the Industrial Revolution by pioneering the "clean living" and vegetarian movements. Ever wonder where the Graham Cracker came from? We’ll look at Sylvester Graham's quest for moral purity through some truly awful, unprocessed crackers. We will also trace the bizarre journey of John Humphrey Noyes and the Oneida community Timeline: 0:00 Intro 02:29 Health Problems and Industrialization 06:29 Christian Perfection Movements 08:29 The Oneida Group 15:58 Clean Living & Diets 16:29 Graham Crackers & Holiness 17:58 Seventh Day Adventists 19:58 Abolition 22:28 Women's Rights and Temperance 25:27 The Women's Bible 29:27 Muscular Christianity and YMCA My books (affiliate links): "How We Got Our Bible" (Zondervan, 2018): https://amzn.to/2MtmSYY "Story of Creeds and Confessions" (Baker Academic, 2019): https://amzn.to/3OVDyGQ Support the channel on Patreon: https://patreon.com/user?u=23593673

The challenge is simple: do a 15 minute track stand on your bike of choice. If you roll forwards, you need to return to the spot you were originally in without riding around. What do you guys think? Does this one count? Why or why not? Post your comments and video replies below.

Another BB-8 Droid Prototype update this week, focusing mainly on stability and solving my issue with it only being able to run on carpet. The reason for this being that on smooth flooring the droid would simply run too fast for the Arduino in the head responsible for stabilization to catch up. I explored a number of possibilities of substances to place inside the bottom part of the droid so that It would be heavier and therefore slower. In the end, I decided to go with ball bearings to fill the bottom half of the droid, the tricky part was finding the right amount, too little and it was too wobbly but too many and the droid started to fall over with the weight. I think I found a good balance in the end though. This is part 5 in a full series building the BB-8 Droid from start to finish. In this series, I film a complete step by step tutorial on how to make a working BB-8 droid with movement, stabilization lights and all, if you’re a fan of the Star Wars franchise then I suggest you check it out, any suggestions on how you think the build could be improved are welcome in the comments section below. ① GENIUS No MacArthur grant yet.
