I show how I make money with a button maker at craft shows. I will have a button making station at my booth where kids and adults can draw and design their own buttons for $1. This is a super easy way to make a profit at craft shows and community events. Kids and adults get a huge kick out of designing buttons. You can also use the button maker to make and sell your own designs as well as take orders from bands and organizations. I’m going to show you how to make this 3D layered photograph of my dog. It involves taking 1 image, cutting out the background and making a print from that and another print from the foreground image. In this example I’m making the frame from scratch but you could easily take an existing frame and do this as long as the depth is over 1/2”. That will allow a reservoir for all the epoxy we’re about to use. I’m using a new product call Art Resin and I’m loving it. Unlike most 2-part epoxies, Art Resin is free of VOCs has no fumes and safe. It’s super clear and easy to use. This is now my go-to for all my kitchen based woodworking projects. After the Reformation, the Roman Catholic Church began to reform some of its abuses. The Catholic Reformation, though, was not only a reaction to Protestantism, but also a flowering of Roman Catholic practice. Ignatius of Loyola and the Jesuits are the best example of the Catholic Reformation. This video explores both Ignatius and the Jesuits as well as the wider Catholic Reformation. Ryan M. This week I had one of those weeks where a particular piece of music was playing in my head and wouldn't seem to leave me, so I had a look online and found this nice simple arrangement. http://www.thisisclassicalguitar.com/jesu-joy-of-mans-desiring-for-guitar-free-pdf/ The piece comes from Bach's Cantata BWV 147 and is called "Jesu Joy of Man's Desiring". I played this on my Archtop rather than my Classical Guitar, because it made it much easier to record, but also its fun to escape convention sometimes and do something a little out of the ordinary. If you're a Rock, Blues or Jazz player, but have had very little traditional Classical guitar experience, then this a good piece to experiment with. By all means support the pdf author's site by buying the tabs (or making a donation), but I would also recommend reading the score directly and seeing if you can make it through with the actual sheet music. In this two part series, we dig into understanding and quantifying simple harmonic motion (SHM). We try to figure our why systems that oscillate move the way they do, and what ideas from physics govern this motion. I have unapologetically stolen much of my approach from Richard Feynman's wonderful physics lectures: http://www.feynmanlectures.caltech.edu/I_toc.html. The approach presented here was largely borrowed from Feynman chapters 9 and 21. I encourage anyone interesting in going to deeper to read Feynman's lectures. This is the post: https://www.sethsbikehacks.com/product/dnm-dropper-seat-post/ Replacement lever: http://amzn.to/1QHo8ki In another video I reviewed and installed the DNM dropper seat post: https://youtu.be/K35LXiExBh8 After 6 months of hard use, I'm posting a follow up in case you're wondering how it's held up. The post itself is perfect, the switch is destroyed. Most riders will not destroy the switch, but aggressive risk-takers who crash often will quickly demolish it. I think it's fair to criticize this aspect of the post, since none of my gear shifters, brake levers, or anything else on my handlebars have been destroyed in these 6 months. I think it's the poor design of the switch that makes it vulnerable to impact. You can order a replacement from DNM, but they actually request a bank transfer, and it costs $43! I found a Crankbrother's switch on Amazon which is way nicer for only $35, so that's a much better option: http://amzn.to/1QHo8ki As for the post itself, it's completely life-changing. I can now drop low to bunnyhop or do something aggressive, while popping it back up to ride away is just a flip of a lever. The post is lightweight, sturdy, has virtually no play in it whatsoever, and even looks super nice. Even if you end up destroying the switch, it's still going to cost you well under two hundred dollars, so I highly recommend this post.
