Reel 2, a landing craft is hit. Mortars are fired and Japanese infantry flushed from dugouts. Marines and tanks move up. Gen. Smith inspects positions. Wounded Marines are loaded on a ship and the dead buried at sea. Japanese POW's are searched and given first aid. Construction on an airstrip is begun; a plane lands and the pilot congratulates Marines.

How to make curved inlay into a board. The trick is to remove as much wood as with what you're going to use as the inlay. For example if your inlay is 1/4" thick then you MUST remove a 1/4" of material from your board. This is the 2nd single from my new album, Secrets Nobody Keeps. I wrote this piece for playing on tour in China earlier this year. I needed something to bridge the musical gap between what I do and what most people over there are more familiar with. And also I wanted to have something with some meaning, some relevant purpose. So this tune is about the Wukan Uprising of 2011. Wukan is a village in rural China. The government seized some farmland, owned by local families, and sold it off to developers. The local people weren't too happy about that, so they held a peaceful sit-in protest. Sadly the government sent in the scary secret police guys, who arrested one of the protest leaders (a local craftsman and father), and he died the next day in police custody from "a heart attack". His name was Xue Jinbo, and he died 2 years ago today. After that the protests got more vigorous and the police were rounding people up off the streets at night. When I saw it on the TV news, they were interviewing this kid who'd been riding round the village at night on his little motorbike, looking out for secret police down back alleys. And if he saw one, he'd shout a warning to the other villagers through his megaphone, then speed off, with bullets whistling past his ears. So this song is for that courageous kid, wherever he is. This event was all over the news around the world, everywhere except China. So I told this story on stage every night on tour there. Which resulted in all manner of sh*t happening to me. I often get asked about this - so decided I should film the process when I removed my most recent Dash-Cam mount to swap it out for another one. Obviously this works with adhesive mounts from other manufacturers. Most of these claim to be made by 3M, but I have my doubts. When using dental floss - don’t use the nice soft expanding fluffy stuff, as it snaps. Use the nasty painful hard string like variant - the cheap stuff - far stronger for this job but not as much fun for your gums.

This is the second part of the electronics for my Iron Man Costume Unibeam, using a PWM driver to control a 60Watt LED cluster. The biggest challenge making your own Iron Man power suit - that you can actually wear! – is how much detail. Every expects it to look accurate in terms of colour and shaping, and if you’re going to get inside it latches, strapping and so on is a must but… what else? Do you motorise the faceplate? How much lighting and depth do you give the unibeam? What kind of flexibility and motion do the knees, knuckles and neck need? Well, hopefully you’ll agree I went all out on this Iron Man build.
