Short documentary part on the controversial studies performed by Harry Harlow and his assistants. "Food or security, what will it be for the monkey".

Benthe stapelt blokjes

Myrthe 'helpt'.

A simple midi-clock syncable 8 step sequencer using the MK's faders for pitch, rotary knobs for note on/off (gate) and the lcd's as visual feedback. A standalone compiled version of the patch (for OSX) made in Max/MSP can be found here: http://chaosmoon.info/resources/MK_8step_02_OSX.zip

This video goes through some basic concepts on how to expand the possibilities of playing chords on the bass. I'm using in this video a 5 string bass tuned EADGC, but the same concepts are equally applicable on a 4 string bass.

My cover of the Radiohead classic. I worked out this arrangement about 7 years ago. I played it on my first solo gig, and have been playing it ever since! The song is on my album Hypertension, available at www.jongomm.com The footage is from the TV show City Centre Social: big thanks to Shy Gerry, Dancing Dan, Rachel K and Interesting Phil. www.channelm.co.uk Thanks also to the enigmatic Mr Dykes for trimming the clip www.myspace.com/dykesfilms

Me playing live on Channel M. I've been reluctant to upload this cos I made a few mistakes (especially the guitar fill at the startof the second verse! Mmmm, jazz) and I was a bit ill so I look like death and sound a bit bunged up. But hey. Here you go. It's a fun country waltz about a girl I went out with when I was 18. Some of the lyrics might go over your head if you're not British. "Bensons" are a brand of cigarettes!

Krokodil

Inspired by Littlescales Toriton this is a tryout with an ldr into PD via Arduino. The values coming into PD are looking up positions in a table containing notes (In this case an arpeggio over a few octaves) to add some musicality.

This is going to be a drum sequencer, but with only 1 voice finished a little random synth(Juno-106) action was more appropriate. Again this is done by using the "native mode" om the MK and sending it sysex commands from max.

Very nice demonstration of a 4-year olds inability to perform categorization.

This is an edited version of the BBC documentary 'Man without a memory' (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wDNDRDJy-vo). It shows the essence of Clive's disability (and it's pretty sad to watch too!). Post-view question to ponder: do you think Clive is happy?

Inclusief redenering achteraf.

During the 'Memoriad' people show their skill at encoding information. They share some of their 'tricks'.

This is a custom modification to the 914 PC Bot from White Box Robotics. The idea being that additional sensors can be kept under the head which can lift up so they can look outwards when necessary.

Derren Brown uses unconscious priming techniques to perform a neat trick on two unsuspecting advertising agency creative designers.

Dat wilden we even laten zien.

This is the 914 PC Bot from White Box Robotics under control of a Python script running remotely over a socket. The hardware interface is a sockets server built in C# using the WBR .NET controls -- serving up the data and accepting commands over IP. The Bot is doing a simple auto-roam, but checking for data each time it stops for an object -- at the moment just from it's sensors, but in the future the data will also come from other sources such as speech/sound input and machine vision with it's webcam.
