The shocking murder of Henry Nowak has sparked an overdue debate across Western the world about two-tier policing. Many believe that post-BLM hysteria led to a climate of overcorrection and reverse racism. And as a sideline to the truly harrowing details of the Nowak case, the UK in particular is now experiencing an outbreak of two-tier virtue signalling. Politicians there had no hesitation about taking a knee for George Floyd, for example. Official police guidance, as we now know, was updated to eradicate colour-blind policing and actively pursue a so-called “equity of outcomes.” Piers Morgan believes that if you reject identity politics and sincerely believe in the ideal of a colour-blind society, then you shouldn’t now be repeating the same mistakes. The difference, though, is that so many of our politicians and celebrities clearly do believe in performative virtue - as long as it’s their version of it. And not for the first time, they’ve been exposed as raging hypocrites.

Daardoor komt mogelijk hun verblijfstatus in gevaar. #Iran #studenten #onderwijs #Nieuwsuur

It was apparently shot by a Japanese businessman whose company visited the exposition en masse. The event was held at two venues in the city, Kanazawa Castle Honmaru and Dewamachi Drill Ground, from April 12 to June 5, 1932. The driving force behind the expo was the goal of revitalizing Kanazawa, which had been in decline since the depression of the early Showa period. The Shanghai Incident of 1932 broke out during the exposition, and there was a debate as to whether it should continue. Instead, a decision was made to incorporate a national defense theme into the exhibits and a National Defense Pavilion and Manchuria and Mongolian Pavilions were added. 0:00 The opening of the film shows workers from a factory in Toyama Prefecture lining up for the train tide to the expo in Kanzawa, in Ishikawa prefecture. At 0:54, workers patiently wait at the railroad platform. At 1:16, scenes shot from a moving train. At 1:27, workers are guided towards the entrance of the expo from the Kanazawa train station. A streetcar moves in the background. At 1:55, some of the workers look at a lake with decorative elements. Footage of the expo entrance and grounds begins at 2:21, including a pagoda and streamline moderne buildings. Motion picture films don't last forever; many have already been lost or destroyed. Michael Pollan discusses everything from psychedelics and consciousness to artificial intelligence and the effects of anaesthesia on plants. Can science ever solve the hard problem of consciousness? With a free trial, you can watch our recent interview on consciousness and the mind with Iain McGilchrist at https://iai.tv/video/iain-mcgilchrist-on-why-the-mind-is-not-a-machine?utm_source=YouTube&utm_medium=description With 22 competing theories and no consensus in sight, the science of consciousness is lost. In this exclusive IAI interview, Berkeley psychedelics researcher and bestselling author of a new book on consciousness Michael Pollan insists that even though consciousness lies beyond traditional forms of scientific investigation, we should resist becoming dualists who see it as something radically different from ordinary stuff in the world. Instead, he makes the case for reimagining science itself: it must stop reaching for objective descriptions of physical reality, and instead embrace subjectivity as the indispensable core of all inquiry. #consciousness #philosophy #artificialintelligence Michael Pollan is the co-founder of the Center for the Science of Psychedelics at the University of California, Berkeley and Professor of the Practice of Non-Fiction at Harvard University. Through real-life troubleshooting examples, member testimonials, and detailed explanations, the film demonstrates how GATF helps solve technical printing problems, improve productivity, and increase profitability. Members gain access to expert researchers, custom training programs, technical audits, and one of the most advanced graphic arts research centers in the world. GATF also provides ongoing education through workshops, seminars, and monthly digests summarizing key insights from hundreds of publications. With over 1,200 members, the foundation emphasizes a collaborative, people-helping-people approach. Ultimately, the message is clear: GATF equips businesses—large and small—with the tools, knowledge, and support needed to stay competitive and thrive in a complex industry. 00:00: Opens with music as Harvey Levenson from the Technical Services Department discusses a printing issue involving excessive dot gain. He suggests checking the plate-to-blanket squeeze using a packing gauge. By 0:56, another operator brings up a separate problem related to face makeup, calling on Don for assistance. Shortly after, from 1:09, the team identifies color doubling in cyan ink, which is impacting tone reproduction. A potential solution of changing the ink sequence is proposed. From 2:05: Need to consider alternative problem-solving methods and encourages sharing the results of any changes. At 2:28, a seasoned printer with 20 years of experience shares how GATF has helped him find solutions, ultimately saving time, money, and improving customer satisfaction. 3:02:GATF (Graphic Arts Technical Foundation) an organization with over 1,200 members, driven by and for its members. GATF’s core areas include scientific research, education, technical services, and disseminating critical information to support the graphic communications industry. From 4:45: it's explained that membership gives printers access to an expert team and state-of-the-art research center that supports both immediate problem resolution and long-term planning. Between 5:18: the emphasis shifts to the value of community within GATF—members work on committees, share knowledge, and support each other, highlighting a “people helping people” philosophy. Then, from 6:14: we learn that GATF filters information from over 300 industry publications and provides monthly digests and bulletins, saving members time and ensuring they stay current with industry trends. At 7:16: GATF’s publishing arm is showcased. The foundation produces textbooks widely used across the industry, including the Lithographer’s Manual. The organization also maintains a vast reference library. From 8:13: GATF’s cutting-edge pressroom and research staff are highlighted—they offer unbiased testing and support tailored to specific company needs. A case study between 9:02: illustrates how a GATF plant audit helped a company revise internal procedures, resulting in significantly improved productivity and profitability. From 10:02–11:01, details how GATF responds to over 2,500 technical inquiries a year and offers services like press tests, material testing, and environmental support. The timeframe 11:01: focuses on GATF’s educational impact. It hosts more than 30 workshops and several seminars annually, along with a 5-day orientation program for new employees. 12:30: GATF is referred to as “the answer place,” and the only complete service organization of its kind in the industry. 13:00: GATF built its current facility in 1965 near research institutions in Pittsburgh. From 14:01: services summarized: direct hotline to technical experts, custom training, visual systems for quality control, and early access to new research. 15:03: Conclusion. For almost two decades, we've worked to collect, scan and preserve the world as it was captured on 35mm, 16mm and 8mm movies -- including home movies, industrial films, and other non-fiction. If you have endangered films you'd like to have scanned, or wish to donate celluloid to Periscope Film so that we can share them with the world, we'd love to hear from you.
