De gebruikersbus op het pleintje bij het OLVG Oost gaat daar na ruim een jaar verdwijnen. Vanaf maandag 29 juni staat de bus op de Linnaeusstraat, aan de andere kant van het Oosterpark. Dat laat stadsdeelvoorzitter Carolien de Heer vandaag weten aan AT5. Omwonenden zijn vandaag per brief geïnformeerd.  De gebruikersbus van de Regenboog Groep, waar drugsverslaafden buiten het zicht kunnen gebruiken, staat er nu al ruim een jaar op het 's Gravesandeplein naast het ziekenhuis. De bus is daar neergezet om de drugsoverlast in het Oosterpark te verminderen. Dat is gelukt, alleen zijn het nu de omwonenden van het plein en het OLVG zelf die overlast ervaren. Voor deze mensen is er nu goed nieuws. De bus wordt aan de andere kant van het park neergezet. Stadsdeelvoorzitter Carolien de Heer: "We gaan, wat we de bewoners rondom het 's Gravesandeplein al een tijdje hebben beloofd, de bus verplaatsen. En dat gaan we nu ook echt doen. Op 29 juni gaan we de bus verplaatsen naar de Linnaeusstraat, net naast de taxistandplaats tegenover nummer 2c." Afgelopen april vierde de Regenboog Groep nog een klein feestje omdat de gebruikersbus precies een jaar bestond. Locatiehoofd Fabian Sloot zei toen nog dat de bus op 30 juni weg zou zijn, maar een dag later liet stadsdeel Oost weten dat er een kleine kans was dat de gebruikersbus toch bij het OLVG zou blijven staan. Nu is er dus een einde alle twijfel. De Heer:  "Pas vorige week is de knoop doorgehakt. Het vraagt nogal wat, zo'n besluit. Ik had dit beloofd, ik wilde het ook heel graag, maar een andere plek vinden is helemaal niet zo gemakkelijk. Niemand zal erg blij zijn met de komst." Bewoners rondom de nieuwe locatie zijn niet van tevoren geïnformeerd. Dat gebeurt vandaag per brief zegt de stadsdeelvoorzitter. "Als ik het ga vragen aan mensen, dan zeggen ze altijd nee. Niemand wil het in zijn voortuin of achtertuin, maar we moeten wel een plek hebben." Volgens De Heer is er wel een goede samenwerking met de ondernemers in de buurt. "Waarbij zij beveiligers inhuren die ze kunnen bellen als er iets aan de hand is. En daar dragen wij financieel aan bij." Opnieuw tijdelijk Bij het kiezen van de nieuwe locatie is gekeken naar de bereikbaarheid en de verkeersveiligheid. Ook is gekeken of de plek niet dicht bij andere zorgvoorzieningen is. Uiteindelijk gaat het ook hier weer om een tijdelijke locatie.  De Heer: "De bus staat er nu in principe tot 31 december, daarvoor hebben we een vergunning aangevraagd. We moeten echt snel een vaste locatie vinden. Want we zien ook echt dat het iets goeds doet. Voor de doelgroep is het prettig dat ze daar veilig kunnen gebruiken, dat ze even tot rust kunnen komen, dat we ze in contact kunnen brengen met zorg. Maar het is te klein om goed met de gebruikers in contact te komen. Rond het Leidsebosje is korte tijd een groot gedeelte van de straat afgezet door de politie vanwege een verdachte situatie. Agenten in kogelwerende vesten waren aanwezig. In het midden van de afzetting stond een toeristenbus. Na enige tijd werd de afzetting opgeheven en mochten de toeristen de bus weer in, die even later zijn weg vervolgde. Het ging volgens de politie om een melding van een verdacht object. Rond 12.20 uur zette de politie het gebied voor het Vondelpark af met linten. Wat er precies gaande was, is nog niet duidelijk. Een woordvoerder van de politie zegt dat het ging om een melding van een verdacht object. Het verdachte object werd niet aangetroffen in de bus. Om wat voor object het ging, kan de politie niet zeggen. Er zijn geen aanhoudingen verricht. Op beelden is te zien dat er ook speciale diensten van de politie aanwezig waren rond de bus. De toeristen moesten de bus verlaten, maar mochten er kort daarna weer in. 🇩🇪 Germany is currently debating how much financial support students should receive. The fight centers on BAföG, the system designed to help students from low-income families. When the current government took office, the coalition promised to raise BAföG rates because living costs had risen significantly. Now, that plan might be dropped. Right now, students can receive up to 992€ a month, depending on their parents’ income. Around 11% of all students receive BAföG. Half of what they receive they must later pay back. Research Minister Dorothee Bär argued that students could simply work alongside their studies. Critics counter that degree programs are structured as full-time workload, and students risk losing BAföG if they extend their studies too much. Bär also claimed that German students are already relatively privileged. It is true that some European countries offer less support and charge much higher tuition fees. In Germany, public universities charge only up to 400€ each semester. Karin somt de overlast beknopt op: "De hele mannelijke bevolking komt langs, er wordt drugs gebracht, de buurvrouw heeft met een mes staan zwaaien en mijn fietsband lek geprikt." Het is een frustrerende periode voor de omwonenden, die in de woonkamer van Karin bij elkaar zitten. Het zijn de buren, overburen van de andere kant van de straat en een oud-buurvrouw van haar. Allemaal willen ze maar één ding: af van de overlast die wordt veroorzaakt door een bewoner van het pand. Karin deelt het trappenhuis met de vermeende overlastgever. Het gevoel dat er iets niet klopt, komt bijna direct nadat haar nieuwe overbuur is ingetrokken. Dat is in augustus 2025 en naast Karin, voelen ook andere buren direct aan dat er iets niet klopt. Ze steken de koppen bij elkaar en al snel wordt hun vermoeden bevestigd. "Binnen 24 uur hebben we bewijs dat de deur wijd open staat, dat de muren roze geverfd zijn en dat er alleen een bed met opgerolde handdoeken staat", beschrijft Karin. "We zien ook dat er allemaal vreemde mannen over de vloer komen. En toen was het al snel dat we wisten dat hier prostitutie plaatsvindt." De groep buren maakt melding bij de gemeente en krijgt bevestigd dat hun vermoeden klopt. "Het Gemeente Prostitutie team is langs geweest", vertelt Karin. "Ze hebben online geboekt en vervolgens hebben ze hun bevindingen met ons gedeeld. Illegale prostitutie is vastgesteld, tot tweemaal toe zelfs. Wij dachten: dit is genoeg voor Eigen Haard om in actie te komen." De groep buren gaat ervan uit dat de woningcorporatie in gaat grijpen, maar tot hun verbazing blijft de bewoner in de woning. Illegale prostitutie lijkt verleden tijd, maar volgens de buren komen er nog wel drugsdealers naar het huis toe. Iran and Israel exchanged fire Sunday night in the most serious escalation since a U.S.-Iranian truce was reached in April. Iran launched a wave of missiles at northern Israel, claiming it was in response to Israeli attacks on the southern suburbs of Beirut, known as Dahiyeh, on Sunday. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu claimed his military hit a Hezbollah command center. Israel is “crossing all red lines” by targeting Dahiyeh, the IRGC’s Khatam al-Anbiya said in a statement on Sunday. Israel responded to the Iranian missile strikes by bombing Iran, with explosions reported in Tehran, Tabriz and Isfahan. The Israeli military also confirmed it struck the Mahshahr petrochemical plant, one of the largest in Iran. The attacks on Iran came despite President Trump telling Axios on Sunday that he planned to call Netanyahu to urge him not to respond to the first wave of Iranian missiles. Trump also told the Financial Times that Netanyahu had no choice but to accept a deal with Iran, saying, "I call all the shots. He doesn’t call the shots." Trump on Monday morning posted on Truth Social that "Israel and Iran must immediately stop 'shooting’” and that “final negotiations on ‘Peace’ are proceeding.”
