#queer #lhbti #pride #berlijn #amsterdam #Nieuwsuur

It presents a fascinating look at manufacture and uses of cardboard boxes. 0:00 – The film opens with scenes of American industry, highlighting a marketplace built on technology, production, and efficiency. 0:59 – It introduces the corrugated box as the most efficient and versatile packaging material in the U.S. economy. 1:38 – The corrugated box industry’s massive growth is shown, with shipments rising from $1.5 billion in 1957 to over $4 billion annually. 2:30 – Despite inflation, prices for corrugated boxes have barely risen, revealing the industry’s low profit margins due to its focus on volume over profit. 3:25 – Corrugated products are used in nearly every American industry—from food to electronics—accounting for 95% of packaged goods shipped nationwide. 4:26 – Traditional wooden crates and baskets have been replaced by corrugated boxes for fruits and vegetables like citrus, lettuce, and tomatoes. 5:24 – The dairy industry’s “Bag in Box” and new corrugated ice cream containers demonstrate innovation and practicality. 5:50 – Corrugated has replaced wood in poultry and beef packaging and revolutionized shipping for chemicals and synthetic materials. 6:36 – Beyond shipping, corrugated is used for eye-catching displays and efficient automated packaging systems, saving manufacturers money. 7:12 – Despite its vast contribution, corrugated packaging accounts for only about 1% of a product’s total selling price. 7:38 – The film describes the strength, durability, and reliability of corrugated boxes under the stress of shipping and handling. 8:18 – Corrugated’s easy-to-print surface allows for labeling, coding, and branding at low cost. 8:50 – The film emphasizes the marketing power of high-quality printing and design directly on corrugated materials. 9:00 – It predicts new uses for corrugated products, including disposable milk cartons, corrugated pallets, and automated grocery packaging. 10:33 – The corrugated industry will continue to innovate, with future opportunities in markets such as automotive and grocery retail. 11:28 – Examples include new packaging for motor oil pouches requiring stronger corrugated support, adding millions in revenue potential. 11:49 – Corrugated structures are proposed for tire shipping and even airline baggage systems, improving efficiency and handling. 12:31 – The film foresees the corrugated industry expanding into consulting, offering packaging and distribution expertise. 13:15 – The “corrugated consultant” will combine design, engineering, and market research to create smarter packaging systems. 14:08 – Future corrugated design will incorporate new materials, communication techniques, and advanced identification systems. 14:38 – The narrator argues that corrugated materials are not dull commodities but essential, high-value products in modern logistics. 15:36 – The film concludes that corrugated boxes are dynamic, indispensable tools for marketing and distribution—“a little bit of everything for today, and a lot more for tomorrow.” Motion picture films don't last forever; many have already been lost or destroyed. The chaos of unintended consequences is one of the biggest strategic problems with waging war. With Iran’s proxy militias attacking Saudi oil facilities and Ukraine striking Iranian vessels linked to Russia, experts fear we are spiraling toward a conflict that nobody can control. Is the U.S. about to get dragged into a wider war? Uncensored explores why the conversation has pivoted from "getting out" to "how to escalate," and whether any military operation can lead to a real victory. Joining Piers Morgan to make sense of the escalating tensions in the Middle East and the Saudi nuclear deal is political scientist Professor John Mearsheimer, before Piers is joined by his panel; retired General and former Assistant Secretary of State Mark Kimmitt, Professor of Political Science & Military Analyst Robert Pape and Former General and NATO Supreme Allied Commander Wesley Clark. . A man drove a minivan into a crowd of people near Berlin's Pride celebrations on Saturday, killing one person and injuring 29 others. Authorities shot and killed the man during an operation on Sunday. The alleged suspect was identified as Abdul Ballout, a 21-year-old German citizen. According to authorities, Ballout tried to join the Islamic State in 2025 and was released from prison in May after being jailed for preparing an attack. "The far right here in Germany is, of course, waiting for an attack like this one to use it in order to highlight that the foreigners are the problem," says Alfonso Pantisano, LGBTQ affairs commissioner for the Berlin state government. "By doing so, they completely forget and avoid to look at how much queerphobia there is in this country in all various levels of structures."

Anna Lembke, Sarah Wilson and Joanna Moncrieff discuss whether bringing mental health into the open may be making us more fragile. Do you think that we are over-medicalising ordinary aspects of daily life? With a free trial, you can watch the full debate NOW at https://iai.tv/video/the-pathology-of-everyday-life?utm_source=YouTube&utm_medium=description Bringing mental illness into the open was hailed as a breakthrough. Today, over half of Americans are comfortable discussing their emotional well-being, with openness and self-awareness now key pillars of mental health care. But recently both have come under fire. Despite greater openness, rates of anxiety, depression, and self-diagnosed disorders have soared across the West. The former chair of the American Psychological Association warns of ‘rampant’ diagnostic inflation as a result of medicalising normal behaviour whilst studies from the National Institute of Health reveal that widespread mental health messaging may actually harm many individuals. With this growing awareness, will the future be one where we shift from protecting people from discomfort to preparing them for it, normalising pain, and seeing it as a natural part of life? Or will we continue to see diagnostic inflation and will this be a positive step towards our wellbeing? More radically, should we see mental health issues as primarily social rather than medical? #mentalhealth #mentalhealthawareness #depression Anna Lembke is a groundbreaking psychiatrist and addiction medicine expert, best known for her bestselling book, Dopamine Nation. The company also produced a movie projector with that name specifically for educational use. It projected 16mm motion picture films, a format introduced by Kodak as a safer, more affordable alternative to the highly flammable 35mm nitrate film commonly used in commercial cinemas. This film showcases scenes from Nairobi and Mombasa in the late 1920s, when Kenya was a British colony under the East African Protectorate. Post on patreon for patrons only for 6 months: We tackle the deepest mystery surrounding the ancient bog bodies: why were people ritually killed and deposited in bogs for millennia? Were they targets of murder, execution, or sacrifice? We analyze the long and tense debate over Britain’s most famous bog body, Lindow Man, who met a brutal end in a bog in Northwest England in the 1st century AD, and in so doing, we refute the accident and criminal-murder (or “Iron-Age mugging”) theories. We carefully dissect the notion of the “threefold death,” which purports to link bog bodies like Lindow Man to ancient Celtic gods and myths. Finally, we explore the more difficult and nuanced question of whether bog killings were primarily executions or sacrifices, weighing evidences ranging from preserved last meals to manicured nails to Julius Caesar’s macabre account of the “Wicker Man” sacrifice in ancient Gaul. Finally, we return to Lindow Moss, and consider the possibility that Lindow Man’s death was a desperate wartime measure to combat the Roman advance. As the Trump administration threatens to intensify its "global campaign to crush radical left terrorism," a new 100-page report issued by the State Department last week accuses the Cuban government of waging a "sustained campaign of subversion against the United States." The report claims Cuba has backed a number of groups in the United States, including the feminist antiwar organization CodePink. CodePink co-founder Medea Benjamin calls the State Department's report "an incredible piece of garbage" for attempting to link U.S. peace movements to Cuba and for "paint[ing] this picture of a tiny island nation that is trying to overthrow the United States."

Waarom zien we opnieuw straatprotesten?
