Bij een ongeluk tussen een tram en een busje op De Clercqstraat in West is iemand gewond geraakt. De tram is door de botsing ontspoord, waardoor overig tramverkeer werd omgeleid. De bestuurder van het busje is overgebracht naar het ziekenhuis.Het ongeluk gebeurde iets voor 9.30 uur vanochtend. Hoe het ongeluk heeft kunnen gebeuren wordt nog onderzocht. Het gaat om lijn 19 richting station Sloterdijk. Zowel lijn 13 als lijn 19 worden door het ongeluk tijdelijk omgeleid. Wanneer het tramverkeer weer volgens de gebruikelijke dienstregeling rijdt, is niet bekend. De politie vraagt getuigen om zich te melden. They can also help with hyperpigmentation, protect the skin against sun damage, and thicken skin that’s starting to thin with age. • The difference between prescription-strength and OTC retinoids: Prescription-strength retinoids are generally more powerful and can also be more irritating to the skin. Some, such as tretinoin, are already in their active form, retinoic acid, while others bind directly to retinoid receptors in the skin. OTC retinol products, by contrast, are generally less potent and often less irritating because they must be converted by the skin into active retinoic acid before exerting their effects. • The difference between OTC ingredients: Although OTC products are often referred to as retinols, they feature a range of active ingredients. Retinal (short for retinaldehyde), requires one conversion step to become retinoic acid. Retinol needs two conversion steps, while retinyl palmitate requires three. Nietsvermoedend liep Sabine vorige week donderdag op de Bloemgracht toen er een groot blok foam, waarschijnlijk van een bank, op haar hoofd viel. Ze brak haar nek en dacht even dat haar leven voorbij was. Ondanks politieonderzoek, is het nog onduidelijk waar dat foamblok nu precies vandaan kwam. Waarschijnlijk kwam het uit een woning op de derde etage. De politie zei vorige week uit te gaan van een ongeluk, maar Sabine wil dat degene die hier verantwoordelijk voor is, wordt gevonden. "Ik wil erkenning voor wat me is overkomen". "Ik voelde een keiharde krak in mijn nek en toen wist ik: dit is helemaal fout." Volgens Sabine schoten omstanders direct te hulp. Terwijl zij op de grond lag, probeerden mensen te achterhalen waar het voorwerp vandaan was gekomen. "Ik hoorde mensen zeggen: dat komt bij die buurman vandaan. En ik hoorde een vrouw zeggen: "hij doet niet open", vertelt ze. "Ze gingen aan dat schuim voelen en toen kwamen ze erachter dat het echt wel vijftien kilo woog. Misschien was het een deel van een bank."De gevolgen voor Sabine zijn groot. Ze brak haar bovenste twee nekwervels, liep een zware hersenschudding op en kan naar verwachting drie maanden niet werken. "Ik ben vierenhalf jaar geleden heel ernstig ziek geweest en er eigenlijk niet meer zou zijn. Daar ben ik beter van geworden, ik ben weer gaan werken en heb mijn leven opgepakt. En dan gebeurt er dit." Politie onderzoekt zaak verder De politie concludeerde na het eerste onderzoek dat er waarschijnlijk sprake was van een ongeluk. Daarbij speelde mee dat er geen getuigenverklaringen waren die opzet of nalatigheid konden aantonen. Nu Sabine aangifte heeft gedaan van poging tot doodslag, wordt de zaak opnieuw bekeken en volgt aanvullend onderzoek. Ook haar partner Coen sluit niet uit dat het om een ongeluk gaat, maar vindt dat er meer duidelijkheid moet komen over wat er precies is gebeurd. "Het kan absoluut een ongeluk zijn. Waarschijnlijk is het ook wel een ongeluk", zegt hij. "Alleen, maak er dan geen misdaad van door dit alles te verzwijgen." Oproep aan getuigen Sabine hoopt dat mensen die die dag iets hebben gezien zich alsnog melden. Volgens haar kan zelfs het kleinste detail van belang zijn voor het onderzoek. "Kom alsjeblieft naar buiten met je verhaal en ook als je denkt, ik houd niet van de politie. The bridge was originally built by the United States Bureau of Reclamation to facilitate transportation of materials for the Glen Canyon Dam, which lies adjacent to the bridge just 865 feet (264 m) upstream. The bridge was the highest arch bridge in the world when completed in 1959. The film details the ambitious construction of the massive dam and the steel bridge beginning in February 1957. Steelworkers use extreme precision to fit the pieces into place. 20:34 - Glen Canyon crossing potentially being one of the last major projects where rivet teams will be employed. 21:05 - The riveting team, including the tinker, heater, catcher, bucker, and riveter, work together in a highly synchronized manner. 22:00 August 6th, 1958, two halves of the bridge arch being joined. The engineers have built an arch over 1,000 feet long. 22:18 - The arch is closed. The tieback cables are no longer needed, and the arch now rests securely on its foundations. 24:01 Completion is celebrated. The tieback cables are relaxed and removed. 25:02 - The road construction begins. 26:00 - As the bridge nears completion, workers prepare the area for the dam, blasting out space for it in the canyon. Painters begin applying the final aluminum coat to the steel structure. 26:51 - The construction is almost complete. 27:03 - The carpenters work on the sidewalk, one of the few places where nails were used in the bridge's construction. Concrete decking is poured quickly, with the main highline assisting in the task. 27:34 - February 20th, 1959: The new highway is opened, ahead of schedule, providing a new route for motorists and unlocking vast vistas in the American landscape. 28:01 - The project at Glen Canyon is declared a success. It was a dangerous job but was completed without loss of life or insurmountable problems. The engineers who designed it are acknowledged for their achievement. And if there is no survival benefit to experience, why has it evolved? Should we accept that the theory of evolution and the reality of consciousness are incompatible? Do we need to radically alter our understanding of one, or the other, or both?
