De politie is een grootschalig onderzoek gestart naar de dood van de 73-jarige man die maandagavond werd aangetroffen in een woning in de Lijnbaansstraat in de Jordaan. Vermoedelijk is deze Paul Wyber door een misdrijf om het leven gekomen, en lag hij al langere tijd in de woning. Hij is op maandag 27 april, Koningsdag, voor het laatst in leven gezien. De familie heeft gereageerd via Namens de Familie en beschrijft onder meer de impact van zijn dood. Het onderzoeksteam van de politie gaat ervan uit dat het slachtoffer de bewoner is van de woning waarin hij werd gevonden. Er wordt momenteel sporenonderzoek gedaan, gesproken met buurtbewoners en de camerabeelden worden gecontroleerd. Er wordt dus rekening mee gehouden dat het lichaam van de man al langere tijd in de woning lag. De politie roept mensen die iets verdachts hebben gezien in de omgeving van de Lijnbaansstraat op zich te melden.
