It was located on the site of a former Civilian Conservation Corps camp on the south end of the east shore of White Sand Lake in northern Wisconsin. Er staan er maar liefst 23, om mensen te waarschuwen dat hun fiets volgende week wordt weggehaald vanwege de voorbereidingen van het 5 mei-concert bij de brug. "Is dit nou een feestversiering of een mededeling?" De gemeente is verplicht borden neer te zetten om fietsbezitters te waarschuwen. Als fietsen worden weggehaald, moet dat van tevoren zijn aangekondigd. Maar volgens een omstander zijn 'een paar borden meer dan genoeg'. Daar is een ander, een toerist, het mee eens. De gele waarschuwingen verpesten namelijk zijn foto's van de 'skinny bridge'. "Het leidt de aandacht af." Net als voorbijgangers is CDA-fractievoorzitter Rogier Havelaars kritisch op de hoeveelheid borden. AT5 nam met hem een kijkje op de brug. "Je zou bijvoorbeeld ook aan het begin van de brug iets kunnen neerzetten. Subtieler, kleiner." Volgens hem zijn er te veel plekken in de stad die 'helemaal volhangen met borden'. Een heel seizoen lang alles winnen. Op jeugdniveaus zie je dit soort prestaties nog weleens, maar op topniveau vrijwel nooit. Studentenrugbyclub Ascrum kan komend weekend deze unieke prestatie compleet maken. Het eerste team is door een kampioenschap al gepromoveerd naar het hoogste niveau van Nederland en maakt bovendien kans om met een perfect seizoen door te stomen naar de ereklasse.  Dit is ook om een andere reden een uitgelezen moment. Een aantal belangrijke spelers vertrekt na dit seizoen, onder meer omdat ze voor hun studie naar het buitenland gaan. Of het niveau hierna even hoog blijft, is nog maar de vraag. De spelers glunderen als het gaat over de prestaties van het team en ook coach Michiel Snijders is trots. "Geweldig; dit gaat nooit wennen. Ik loop al een tijdje mee als coach en elke promotie en elk kampioenschap is iets waar je iedere keer weer op dezelfde manier van geniet."  Op 30 mei speelt het team een zogenoemde promotiewedstrijd, waarschijnlijk tegen Breda. A central prediction was the existence of supersymmetry particles, but none have been found. At the same time, huge experiments have failed to find the particles that account for dark matter and dark energy, which make up 95% of the universe. Moreover, it is not even clear what a particle is, since some have no dimension and others no mass. Yet physics is rife with proposals for new 'particles'. While there are positive spin-offs from the technology created to carry out particle experiments, has the theory itself run out of road? Would we be better describing reality as the product of quantum fields, information, or mathematics, rather than particles? Aliya Rahman, a Minneapolis resident who was violently detained by ICE officers in January during “Operation Metro Surge,” filed a federal tort claim against the Department of Homeland Security on Thursday, claiming the agency used excessive force and violated her rights. Rahman was never charged with any crime. She was on her way to a doctor’s appointment when her route was blocked by ICE vehicles. Rahman’s window was smashed, and she was violently pulled out of her car. She told the officers she is disabled and autistic, but says they mocked her. Rahman was brought to an ICE jail, where she was denied medical care. She eventually fell unconscious and woke up at a hospital.
