Cabaretier Dolf Jansen zegt: "Als je op het podium van het Internationaal Theater Amsterdam staat moet je even losgaan toch?". Eenmaal buiten blijkt dat sommige mensen wel heel graag bij het Bal aanwezig willen zijn. Ze klommen met een ladder op het balkon van het theater om alsnog naar binnen te komen. Rapper Abel van Gijlswijk heeft een mooie benaming voor de actie "dit is het literatuur-equivalent van onder een Lowlands-hek heen duiken." In this Deconstructed video, we rebuilt Alcatraz Island entirely in 3D, piece by piece, to understand how Alcatraz Federal Penitentiary actually operated at its peak in the 1950s. We explore the Cellhouse building, the prison cells, the dining hall, the shower room, the hospital, the administration building, and the infamous dungeon of Alcatraz, breaking down the prison’s internal layout and layered security systems, even down to the complex mechanical system that controlled every cell door. We also examine what life inside was really like and how three inmates managed to escape. Alcatraz Island is a small rocky outcrop located about 2 kilometers (1.25 miles) offshore from San Francisco. First developed in the mid-19th century, the island was initially used as a coastal defense site with the construction of Fort Alcatraz. Around 1910, the upper levels of the fort’s old citadel were removed, and a new cellhouse was built above its former basement level. The island later served as a military prison until 1933, when the federal government converted it into a federal penitentiary designed to isolate the most problematic inmates. Alcatraz was designed to be escape-proof. Built to hold inmates considered too dangerous for any other federal prison, it functioned as a self-contained community where prison staff and their families lived alongside the prison. Dat Trump nu extra militairen en schepen naar het Midden-Oosten stuurt, is vermoedelijk een poging om alsnog een snel einde aan het conflict te maken. The way I show this could be dangerous owing to the proximity of your hands to the Lathe Chuck so I really can't recommend doing it this way. I use a wire brush in my Proxxon Drill to clean up the front of the Smokebox Saddle and then using a cutting disc I carefully grind off the heads of two bolts in order to remove the front part of the Footplate assembly. Komt er een referendum over het invoeren van een Amsterdamse boycot van Israël? Die vraag hangt boven de markt, nu een inleidend verzoek van het Amsterdam Palestina Referendum ter beoordeling bij de referendumcommissie van de gemeente ligt. De kans op dit tweede stadsbrede referendum in Amsterdam in 24 jaar tijd lijkt groot. Maar eigenlijk is deze casus te complex voor zo'n kort antwoord. Reden voor een diepere duik in de vorm van het voorstel en de Amsterdamse referendumregels. Tien maatregelen die moeten gaan zorgen voor een Amsterdamse boycot van Israël. Dat is de inzet van de initiatiefnemers van het Amsterdam Palestina Referendum (APR), een burgercollectief. "We reageren daarmee op een roep vanuit de Amsterdamse samenleving", zegt Juliana, een van de indieners. "Uit peilingen blijkt dat de achterban van de zittende partijen in Amsterdam wil dat er veel strenger wordt opgetreden tegen Israël. Dan spreken we echt over 95 procent van die achterban", waarbij ze refereert aan een onderzoek van EenVandaag. De 10 eisen van het Amsterdam Palestina Referendum: 1. Erken officieel dat Israël misdaden tegen de menselijkheid pleegt jegens de Palestijnen. 2.Verschaf volledige transparantie over gemeentelijke banden met Israël, inclusief bedrijven en organisaties die medeplichtig zijn aan schendingen van mensenrechten door Israël. 3. Maak een einde aan alle inkopen of aanbestedingen met Israëlische en andere instituten en bedrijven die gekoppeld zijn aan mensenrechtenschendingen door Israël. 4. Beëindig alle banden met Israëlische instellingen en andere medeplichtige (lobby-)instituten. 5. Stel als gemeente een culturele & sportboycot voor Israël in. 6. Roep de privé-sector op om samenwerking en de handel met Israël te beëindigen en stimuleer deze sector door materiële steun en procedures aan te bieden. 7. Bemoedig en informeer burgers in Amsterdam door een ​​bewustwordingscampagne te lanceren over Boycot, Desinvesteren en Sancties (BDS) en hoe zij ethisch verantwoorde producten kunnen kopen. 8. Roep de Rijksoverheid en de Provincie Noord-Holland op om het internationaal recht en mensenrechten te respecteren en om de BDS-beweging te steunen. 9. Roep onderwijsinstellingen in Amsterdam op om alle banden met Israëlische onderwijsinstellingen te verbreken. 10. Roep andere steden en landen op om het voorbeeld van de BDS-beweging te volgen en, indien relevant, een wapenembargo en economische sancties in te stellen tegen Israël. De indieners stelden een inleidend verzoek voor een referendum op. Dat deden ze met een aantal 'bondgenoten', te weten de Amsterdam Palestina Coalitie (APC), de Palestijnse Gemeenschap in Nederland (PGNL), het antizionistische Joodse collectief Erev Rav en de politieke partij De Vonk. Begin deze maand verzamelden ze de benodigde duizend handtekeningen binnen 48 uur. Het voorstel ligt daarom nu ter beoordeling bij de referendumcommissie. Tot nu toe te volgen, maar vanaf hier wordt het ingewikkelder. En daarvoor gaan we eerst naar de huidige Amsterdamse referendumverordening. Sinds 2022 zijn er namelijk drie manieren om een referendum aan te vragen. In 2025 werd deze verordening nog wat verder aangescherpt. De drie Amsterdamse referendumvormen: 1. Het 'klassieke' referendum: je bent het niet eens met een plan van de gemeenteraad of het college en vraagt een referendum aan over dat plan. 2. Volksinitiatief: je hebt zelf een nieuw voorstel voor Amsterdam, terwijl de gemeenteraad daar nog geen besluit over neemt. 3. Alternatief burgervoorstel: je bent het niet eens met een plan en hebt een beter idee. Dan kun je naast het voorstel van de gemeente een alternatief plan indienen. De indieners van het APR kozen voor de derde vorm, het alternatieve burgervoorstel. Dit deden ze niet omdat ze het niet eens waren met het plan dat er al was. "We hebben voor het alternatieve burgervoorstel gekozen, omdat er al een initiatiefvoorstel vanuit De Vonk en Denk klaarlag", zegt Anne, ook van het APR. "Dat voorstel vonden we supergoed, maar we vonden eigenlijk dat onze eisen, die zijn samengesteld met de Palestijnse Gemeenschap in Nederland, wat concreter waren en wat dieper gingen." Het voorstel van het APR bouwt dus voort op het plan van De Vonk en Denk. De Vonk hielp zelfs mee bij het opstellen van het inleidend verzoek. "De vraag is of dat wel de bedoeling was van de verordening", zegt UvA-docent staatsrecht Ursus Eijkelenberg over het APR-voorstel. "Het moet gaan om een alternatief. Is hier sprake van een alternatief? Dat kun je je afvragen." Als het referendum er komt, kun je namelijk kiezen tussen twee varianten van een Israël-boycot.
