De hoedjesparade is een traditie in Nederland tijdens Prinsjesdag waarbij vrouwelijke leden van de Staten-Generaal, het kabinet en het Koninklijk Huis tijdens de Troonrede een hoed dragen. Het dragen van een hoed is voor veel vrouwelijke aanwezigen een manier om te laten zien wie zij zijn. Bij de hoedenparade zitten er altijd wel een paar tussen van ontwerpster Berry Rutjes.

De signalen over een "repressieve cultuur" werden gedeeld met alle jeugdbeschermingsorganisaties. Maar een aantal organisaties bleef jongeren naar het Spaanse tehuis sturen. Dat blijkt uit onderzoek van Nieuwsuur. Het gaat om een Nederlands gezinshuis in de regio Valencia dat minderjarigen met gedragsproblemen behandelt. In 2024 tikte de rechter SAVE Jeugdbescherming in Utrecht en Flevoland op de vingers, omdat jongeren illegaal werden geplaatst in Spanje. The compilation is broken into segments beginning with the final emperor of Germany; Wilhelm II’s exile into the Netherlands at the close of WWI. De kwaliteit van het water in en rond Amsterdam is licht verbeterd ten opzichte van vorig jaar. Dat concludeert Waterschap Amstel, Gooi en Vecht (AGV). Maar, zo waarschuwt het Waterschap, reden tot juichen is er nog niet. "Het is beter, maar nog niet goed genoeg." Bij de Gaasperplas wordt voor de laatste keer dit seizoen de zwemkwaliteit gecontroleerd. Bemonsteren heet dat. Monsters van het water worden naar het lab gestuurd en over 2 dagen volgt de uitslag. "De zwemwaterbemonstering bestaat uit fecale bacteriën (poepbacteriën), en blauwalg. Met daarnaast nog een paar ondersteunende algemene parameters," vertelt Joost Stoffels, watersysteemanalist bij het Waterschap Amstel, Gooi en Vecht. Begin deze maand nog bleek uit onderzoek van Natuur & Milieu en het Nederlands Instituut voor Ecologie (NIOO-KNAW) dat alle zwemplassen in Nederland zijn vervuild met chemische stoffen, dus ook die in Amsterdam. Niet iets om meteen ziek van te worden, sterker nog: de waterkwaliteit in het AGV-gebied laat een voorzichtige verbetering zien. En dan gaat het niet alleen over het zwemwater. Als je kijkt naar ons gebied dan zien we dat 92% van de normen in de wateren gehaald worden," zegt AGV-bestuurslid Jennifer Bloemberg. "Maar we zijn er nog lang niet." Het Waterschap werkt samen met gemeenten, natuurorganisaties en boeren samen om de waterkwaliteit te verbeteren. Zo zijn is het agrarisch waterbeheer verder versterkt en zijn er meer natuurvriendelijke oevers aangelegd. Bloemberg: "Zo kunnen er verschillende planten ontstaan, verschillende dieren leven, en zo voorkom je wat bij een harde oever het geval is, dat bepaalde dieren in het water gaan overheersen, waardoor we niet de biodiversiteit krijgen van verschillende planten en dieren die je in het water hebben wil." Maar om de verbetering van de waterkwaliteit door te zetten zijn er extra maatregelen nodig zegt Bloemberg. "Wij zitten hier aan het eind van de delta, vervuilende stoffen in het water komen allemaal onze kant op, ook uit andere landen. Wij zijn een soort afvoerputje. Je hebt naast een goed ecosysteem in het water ook minder chemicaliën nodig. Daarom is het belangrijk dat niet alleen de waterschappen, maar ook producenten, het Rijk en Europa er alles aan doen om die waterkwaliteit te verbeteren. We roepen het Rijk op om probleemstoffen aan te pakken. Denk aan PFAS. Het is echt nodig dat er maatregelen genomen worden om te zorgen dat bepaalde producten niet meer op de markt terechtkomen. Most likely, the event shown was the Great Atlantic Hurricane of 1944, which struck on September 14 and roared up the Eastern Seaboard, tearing away boardwalks, destroying homes, and damaging beachfront structures from Asbury Park all the way down to Atlantic City. Here, the Asbury Park boardwalk is shown heavily damaged, power is knocked out to thousands of homes, and buildings like hotels and piers are flooded or partially destroyed. Inez de Rooij (80) loopt volgende week zondag de Dam tot Damloop en gaat voor een nieuw persoonlijk record. orig jaar was haar tijd 2:13,45. Daar moeten een paar seconden vanaf, vindt ze zelf. Daarom traint de atleet hard: in de sportschool en natuurlijk buiten. "Hardlopen is een lifestyle", vertelt de 80-jarige als we haar opzoeken tijdens een training. "Het is niet meer weg te denken uit mijn leven. Ik heb weleens een blessure en dat is dan weken drama tot ik die korte broek weer aankan en naar buiten kan om hard te lopen." Inez deed mee aan meerdere grote hardloopwedstrijden in binnen- en buitenland, zoals de marathon van Rotterdam en Londen. Ze traint vier keer per week, waaronder krachttraining. While the Saudi government has always denied advance knowledge of the 9/11 attacks, 15 of the 19 plane hijackers were Saudi citizens, including some with connections to Saudi officials and intelligence assets in the United States. Terry Strada, the national chair of 9/11 Families United, raised the issue during an official commemoration on Friday in New York while paying tribute to her husband Tom, who was killed in the World Trade Center.
