Die gaat makkelijk open, zodat statiegeld-verzamelaars de bak niet hoeven te slopen, en sluit vanzelf, waardoor de klep niet meer wijd open blijft staan.  De stadsreinigers hebben meegepraat over het ontwerp van de bak. "Er is best veel aan aangepast", legt stadsreiniger Milton uit. "We hebben een hendeltje erbij. De sloten zijn weggehaald, zodat de deuren magnetisch eigenlijk opengaan. Die kunnen ook vanzelf dicht. Voorheen gingen ze niet vanzelf dicht en moesten wij ze dichtduwen." Ook zijn de afvalzakken volgens hem verbeterd. Het probleem met afval rond de bakken na het zoeken van statiegeldblikjes en -flesjes speelt al een paar jaar. De gemeente probeerde er op verschillende manieren wat aan te doen, zoals met doneerringen en andere magneten, maar dat werkte nog niet. Zo werden die magneten bijvoorbeeld gestolen.  Wethouder Hester van Buren (PvdA) kan niet garanderen dat het afval rond de nieuwe bakken niet meer terugkomt. "Ik zou het willen garanderen. Maar er is ook zoiets als gedrag van de mensen die in de stad wonen en bezoeken."  Ze vindt het niet erg dat de bakken nu door iedereen eenvoudig open te maken zijn. "Hij kan open, maar anders wordt hij opengebroken. Dus daar hebben de medewerkers ook goed naar gekeken." Milton: "Nu is het van, wees welkom, maar open, zoek je ding, tot ziens, sluit hem weer. Dan blijft het voor iedereen netter." Er staan nu acht nieuwe bakken. Aan de gemeenteraadsverkiezingen doen dit jaar een recordaantal van 35 partijen mee. Daar zitten volgens politicoloog Henk van der Kolk vooral nadelen aan. "Verdiep je in lokale politiek en probeer niet steeds het wiel opnieuw uit te vinden." "Ik denk dat zoveel partijen het voor kiezers niet erg overzichtelijk maakt, dat het besturen van een gemeente er niet makkelijker op wordt en dat het schijn is dat je zoveel keuze hebt", somt Henk van der Kolk, hoogleraar politicologie, de nadelen op. Dit jaar staan er 35 partijen op de lijst, waarvan een groot deel lokale partijen als Hart voor Amsterdam/Partij voor de Ouderen, Namens Amsterdammers, Amsterdamse Alternatieve Alliantie, Het Liberaal Collectief Amsterdam en de Stem van Amsterdam. Een stuk meer dan voorgaande verkiezingen, toen deden er nog 26 partijen mee. In 2010 waren het er zelfs 'maar' 19. Volgens Van der Kolk is de groei aan partijen deels te verklaren door het gebrek aan verbinding met grote, bestaande partijen. De politicoloog waarschuwt kiezers met name voor het feit dat nu vaak onduidelijk is waar zo'n kleine specifieke partij verder voor staat. Op de Dappermarkt reageren kiezers niet enthousiast op de lange lijst met namen. "Allemaal een zeteltje, iedereen subsidie, allemaal een spandoekie. Daar word je toch helemaal gek van." Een partij opzetten De drempel om zelf een partij op te richten is niet erg hoog. De naam van de partij moet officieel worden geregistreerd om bovenaan het stembiljet te verschijnen. Nieuwe partijen moeten daarnaast 30 ondersteuningsverklaringen verzamelen van inwoners die in de gemeente mogen stemmen. Zij leggen die verklaring persoonlijk af op het gemeentehuis. Daarnaast moeten nieuwe partijen een waarborgsom van 225 euro betalen, die wordt terugbetaald als een partij minimaal één zetel haalt. “Voor de kiezer is dit niet wenselijk. Met zoveel partijen wordt het overzicht lastig”, zegt Van der Kolk. Volgens hem laten kleine partijen vaak kansen liggen om bestaande grotere partijen te versterken. “Het is nu zo versplinterd dat samenwerken in de raad moeilijk wordt.” Maar is het dan belangrijk dat iedereen met politieke idealen en ambities een partij kan opzetten? "Ik denk dat die kans dat een nieuwe partij groot wordt zo ontzettend klein is dat je beter een bestaande politieke partij een beetje jouw richting op kan duwen.
