This dramatization is based on a real-life incident in which a father caused the accidental death of himself and his family when he left a burning cigarette on a sofa. What could the family have done to save their lives? 0:00 Host discusses the difficulty of "selling" safety and fire prevention, stating that it won't deliver a sermon but aims to demonstrate that fire is a "cunning and malicious enemy." The little girl almost made it to the front door, found in the living room, because she was used to exiting through doors and didn't think to use the window.23:28 The film concludes with the tragic realization of the "terrible price to pay" for fire hazards, repeating the phrase "Here it is" over images of the devastated home. Now 20, Marvin left Germany at the age of just 16. He emigrated with his brother to Hungary – to Budapest, to be precise. Why would a young person leave Germany at such a young age? In Marvin's case there were a range of crucial factors: Germany's COVID policy, concerns about immigration and domestic security, changes in society and what he sees as insufficient national pride. Marvin felt Germany was lacking clear social rules, order, identity and effective laws. And he was searching for freedom during a period impacted by COVID regulations. And Marvin thinks he's found exactly that in Hungary – especially in Budapest: greater safety, a stronger sense of community, conservative values, patriotism and a different concept of state and society. For him, Hungary has become a genuine new home abroad. We met Marvin in the Hungarian capital to talk in depth about his motivations for emigrating, life in Hungary compared to Germany, and also about politics, immigration, security and his outlook for the future. But it quickly became clear that his story is closely linked to his experiences in his native Germany. We therefore met Marvin a second time – this time back in his home village. In de filmwereld is veel enthousiasme over The Voice of Hind Rajab. De film vertelt het verhaal van een 6-jarig vermoord Palestijns meisje. Ze zat in januari 2024 in een auto die onder vuur werd genomen door soldaten van het IDF, het Israëlische leger. Haar dood leidde internationaal tot grote verontwaardiging. Negen maanden nadat een schilderij van de wereldberoemde kunstenaar Mark Rothko beschadigd raakte, is het topstuk weer te zien in het Rotterdamse Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen. Op het doek waren krasjes ontstaan nadat een kind het had aangeraakt. Werken van Rothko leveren op veilingen vaak tientallen miljoenen euro's op. Wie denkt dat restauratie een kwestie is van snel overschilderen, heeft het mis. Na een gesprek met NAVO-secretaris-generaal Rutte zegt de Amerikaanse Trump dat hij de heffingen intrekt die hij aan NAVO-landen wilde opleggen. Rutte heeft dat bevestigd. De afgelopen weken dreigde Trump met militair ingrijpen in Groenland. Nadat een aantal Europese landen, waaronder Nederland, militairen had gestuurd naar Groenland voor een verkenningsmissie, kondigde Trump importheffingen aan tegen die landen. Er is nu een "raamwerk" afgesproken voor een akkoord over Groenland en het hele Noordpoolgebied, aldus Trump. De afspraken moeten nog worden uitgewerkt. Trump wilde dat Groenland in het bezit komt van de VS. Of hij dat blijft eisen, is nog onduidelijk.
