It follows Milt Farney and his friends on a Mexican vacation that becomes an exploration of Mexcaltitán de Uribe, a secluded island settlement hidden among the marshes and waterways near the Pacific coast. After flying from Southern California through Baja California and visiting Rancho San José, Bahía de los Ángeles, and San Blas, Milt discovers the village from the air and returns by way of Tuxpan. 0:00 Host Jack Douglas introduces the hidden Mexican island city of Mexcaltitán and welcomes Milt and Judy Farney. 1:06 Milt explains how spotting a mysterious village from the air turned their vacation into an adventure. 1:44 Concealed by swamps, the hidden city is nearly impossible to spot from land or sea. 2:18 Jack jokes about his role as godfather to the Farneys' five daughters. 2:43 The travelogue begins with the group departing Orange County Airport and flying into Mexico. 3:13 After Tijuana customs, the group flies to Rancho San José alongside traveling companions. 3:52 They visit the Meling family's long-established cattle and guest ranch in the foothills. 4:34 The party flies south, landing on a rough airstrip at Bahía de los Ángeles. 5:14 Milt highlights local sport fishing and a hand-built stone ranch church. 5:58 Refueling with a hand pump, the group prepares to fly across the Gulf of California. 6:14 Flying past Tiburón Island, the pilots spot a red-tiled village hidden inland near San Blas. 7:41 The group lands on a cow pasture airstrip in tropical San Blas. 8:03 Local children play behind the parked aircraft to enjoy the cooling propeller wash. 8:16 Milt inspects historic ruins in old San Blas, including an overgrown Spanish fort. 8:56 The visitors tour local plantations and take a canoe ride through mangrove tunnels. 9:36 Milt learns the mysterious island village he spotted is named Mexcaltitán. 10:02 Leaving their wives in San Blas, Milt and John prepare to locate the island. 10:57 The travelogue transitions to the second leg of the trip targeting Mexcaltitán. 11:09 Finding no landing spot on the island, the pilots fly to a crop-dusting strip in Tuxpan. 11:41 Father Preciado guides the men by tractor and dugout canoe toward the island. 12:02 Low water levels and sandbars slow their river travel past rural banks. 12:38 A routine trip lengthens into a six-hour struggle through narrowing, weed-choked waterways. 13:04 trapped in shallow bogs, the party fights through dense floating lily pads. 13:32 Passengers clear thick vegetation and push the heavy canoe into open water. 14:18 John Miller captures photographs as the canoe breaks free into open river currents. 14:34 Father Preciado cools off in the river as they pass local fishermen working fish traps. 14:57 Clam gatherers work the banks before the canoe rounds a bend, revealing Mexcaltitán. 15:40 Milt introduces the isolated island settlement, considered by some as the Aztec ancestral homeland. 15:55 The quiet island features electricity but lacks telephones, vehicles, hotels, or restaurants. 16:12 The visitors buy fruit at plaza stalls and set up cots provided by Father Preciado. 16:50 Milt watches fishermen return, noting mainland access involves a short bus and canoe ride. 17:25 Dugout canoes transport all island cargo, including furniture, livestock, and building supplies. 17:49 Fresh drinking water arrives from the mainland by canoe and is sold house-to-house. 18:22 Mainland vendors visit weekly while island children play games and navigate canoes. 18:46 Fishing dominates daily life, with residents drying catches and poling canoes through the delta. 19:24 Milt attempts canoe poling while keeping the camera equipment balanced and dry. 19:56 Fishermen mend nets offshore and use nighttime kerosene lanterns to scoop up surface shrimp. 20:20 Shrimp catches are iced on the mainland, averaging five to ten tons per night. 20:33 Father Preciado and local women prepare fresh seafood for the visitors. 20:54 Milt and John fly back toward San Blas to rejoin their families. 21:10 Milt calls the hidden island city one of the most remarkable sights he has ever filmed. 21:37 Douglas praises the expedition and chats with Judy and Milt as they introduce their five daughters by name and age. 22:57 Jack thanks the family, jokes about future wedding expenses, and signs off.

Join the Swiss and German philosopher Martine Nida-Rümelin as she argues for her distinctive subject-body dualism, which is not obscurantist but a demand for intellectual honesty. Support our work: https://democracynow.org/donate/sm-desc-yt On Monday, federal agents from the Department of Homeland Security raided the Washington, D.C., home of Congressmember Ilhan Omar. Omar has faced years of racist targeting from President Trump over her ethnicity and immigrant background. She immigrated to the United States as a refugee from Somalia when she was a child. Omar is the first Somali American elected to federal office, the first woman of color to represent Minnesota and, along with Michigan’s Rashida Tlaib, one of the first Muslim women to serve in Congress. Support our work: https://democracynow.org/donate/sm-desc-yt The midterm elections are in less than three weeks, on November 3. With Republican majorities in both chambers of Congress on the line, the Trump administration has thrown its time and resources into holding rallies in newly competitive states. We take a look at key Senate races in Georgia, Texas, Michigan and Maine with The Lever’s David Sirota. Ultimately, says Sirota, election results will hinge on voter turnout. “Will there be that surge of turnout based on how unpopular Trump is and how bad the affordability crisis is?” And, if they win, can Democrats then “deliver” on their promises? President Trump announced a deal to purchase Russian diesel fuel and temporarily suspended sanctions in an effort to lower domestic fuel prices amid rising costs from the war in Iran and in anticipation of the upcoming midterms. This abrupt foreign policy shift stunned European allies and drew sharp criticism from Ukraine, which viewed the move as a weakening of Western leverage against Russia. Today, Anton Troianovski, a global affairs correspondent for The New York Times, discusses what the deal reveals about the Trump administration’s strategy with Russia, and how much it could actually lower prices at the pump. Guest: Anton Troianovski (https://www.nytimes.com/by/anton-troianovski) , a global affairs correspondent for The New York Times who writes about foreign policy, national security and America’s place in the world. As the United States struggles with its confrontation with Iran, serious questions are emerging about Washington's strategy, America's global influence, and the future of the Middle East. In this exclusive interview, I'm joined by American political commentator and radio host Garland Nixon to discuss Trump's Iran strategy, the powerful interests shaping U.S. foreign policy, and why Washington continues pursuing confrontation instead of diplomacy. We also examine America's increasingly complicated relationships with China and Russia, the rise of a multipolar world, and whether decades of American foreign policy have ultimately weakened the United States rather than strengthened it. Is America making the same mistakes all over again? And what does this mean for the future of American global leadership? Join us for an important conversation about Trump, Iran, and the changing world order. ✅ Follow Garland on X here: https://x.com/TheGarlandNixon 00:00 - Intro to Garland Nixon 00:50 - What Do Most Americans Misunderstand About US Foreign Policy 02:10 - What is the Role of the Military Industrial Complex? 03:09 - How Countries Make Money Off of War 04:25 - Why the Iran War Has Exposed United States 07:05 - Why the US Can't Admit Defeat 08:05 - Why Trump Lies About the Economy 09:05 - Why the US Government is Collapsing 10:55 - Where Does the Iran War Go From Here? 12:04 - Why Iran Can Survive Against the United States 14:11 - Is Nuclear War An Option in Iran? 16:05 - Why Nuclear War Would Cripple the US Economy 18:09 - Why Does Washington Keep Pursuing War? 20:45 - What Does China Rise Mean for the World? 23:05 - Why Americans Don't Understand China 25:12 - What Does the Russia War Reveal About America? 28:05 - How Russia Continues to Innovate 29:22 - What is the Problem with US Media? 34:33 - Where will the United States Be in 5 Years? 38:45 - Closing Thoughts ✅ Join our new Locals Community here: https://cyrusjanssen.locals.com/ ✅ Join this channel to get access to perks: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCxEQsjgRRfGWiJJu_PDygxw/join -------------------------- If you'd like to support the channel / 如果你想支持我的频道: 🅿️ Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/cyrusjanssen ☕ Buy me a Coffee: https://www.buymeacoffee.com/cyrusjanssen 🧧 WeChat / 微信: https://prnt.sc/u3inr6 ➡️ PayPal: https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_s-xclick&hosted_button_id=8VB8979JHJ97W ₿ Bitcoin: 32go3tLiu88jibJhWgK3RstmXsW2FFELJ8 -------------------------- ✅ Subscribe to my newsletter: http://cyrusjanssen.substack.com ✅ YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/cyrusjanssen?sub_confirmation=1 ✅ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/cyrustalkschina ✅ Twitter: https://twitter.com/thecyrusjanssen ✅ 西瓜视频：https://www.ixigua.com/home/4468069057169668 ✅ B站视频：https://space.bilibili.com/1052709457 ✅ 抖音：@温哥华老外 -------------------------- 📸 Products I use to Produce my Vlogs: Camera: https://amzn.to/2M9pWqx Tripod: https://amzn.to/2OUz2dh Microphone: https://amzn.to/2u1oJNs Lighting: https://amzn.to/2UWkSw8 Drone: https://amzn.to/3jw1WxF #iran #iranwar #trump
