A Stuart 10H Steam Engine Build - Part #7. Machining the Main Bearing casting using a 4 Jaw Independent Chuck is in my opinion possibly not the best method to use. Even though I carefully shaped the casting using a one inch Belt Sander it was not as accurate as I thought, but the finished bearings ended up being OK. Professor Beverly Gage wraps up her portion of the course with a look at the 1980s through 2007 as the nation moves from consensus politics to more divisive trends. Recorded in Yale’s Battell Chapel. This one-time-only course examines U.S. history from 1776 to the present, in advance of the nation’s semiquincentennial (or 250th birthday) in 2026. Taught jointly by Professors Joanne Freeman, David Blight, and Beverly Gage, the course emphasizes the history of the nation-state and the contested nature of American national identity. All three scholars will deliver the course’s first and final lectures together, as an introduction and a wrap-up. In between, they will each deliver eight lectures individually based on their areas of expertise.   Joanne Freeman, the Alan Boles, Class of 1929 Professor of History and American Studies, and an expert in the revolutionary and early national periods of American history, will cover the period from the Revolution up through the 1830s, touching on such topics as the birth of party politics, the nature of “Jacksonian democracy,” and the rise of the reform and protest movements. David Blight, Sterling Professor of History and African American Studies and one of the country’s foremost authorities on the history of slavery and the Civil War, will cover the Civil War era up through Reconstruction and the emergence of the Jim Crow laws. Beverly Gage, John Lewis Gaddis Professor of History, who is currently writing a book on the nation’s past to mark the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, will pick up in the 1890s and continue through the end of the 20th century, addressing debates around immigration, wealth inequality, and the creation of the social welfare state.  The course explores U.S. political history broadly conceived–not just as a realm of presidents and elections and wars (though there will be plenty of those) but as a conversation across time between citizens about what the United States is, was, and was meant to be. In 2023 schreef de Nederlandse regering nog dat er een groot risico bestaat dat Nederlandse geavanceerde technologie wordt gebruikt voor "de ontwikkeling van Chinese militaire technologie en kan worden ingezet bij het schenden van de mensenrechten door de Chinese staat." Veel chipmachines en onderdelen vallen vanwege die zorgen onder strenge exportregels. Ze mogen alleen de grens over als de overheid toestemming geeft. Ayam Goreng Recipe Ingredients 1.8kg (4lbs) whole chicken sea salt, to season 1 tsp coriander seeds 1 tsp fennel seeds 1 tsp cumin seeds ½ tsp black peppercorns 3 dried chillies, chopped 4 shallots, sliced 6 cloves garlic, sliced 4cm piece fresh ginger, chopped 4cm piece galangal, chopped 1 lemongrass, white part only, chopped 2cm fresh turmeric, chopped 2 lime leaves, shredded 1 tsp curry powder 125ml (½ cup) water 1 egg 150g (1 cup) cornflour (cornstarch) peanut oil (or other neutral oil) for deep frying Method Step 1: Prep the chicken Break the chicken down into 10 pieces by removing the legs and wings, splitting the legs into drumstick and thigh, removing the breasts and halving each into 2 pieces. Season generously with salt and set aside on a tray. Step 2: Make the marinade Place the coriander, fennel, cumin, peppercorns and chillies in a dry frying pan over medium high heat. Toast the spices for 1 minute until fragrant. Transfer to a mortar and pestle and grind to a powder. Place the shallots, garlic, ginger, galangal, turmeric, lemongrass, lime leaves and curry powder in a small food processor. Add the spice powder and season with some salt. Add the water and process until a smooth paste forms, scraping down the sides a few times. Place the marinade in a large bowl, then add the chicken and toss very well to completely coat the chicken pieces. Cover and refrigerate for 1 hour, up to overnight. Step 3: Cook the chicken Place the cornflour in a medium bowl. Mix the egg through the marinated chicken until completely combined. Toss each piece of chicken in the cornflour, trying to keep as much of the marinade still on the chicken. Place the pieces on a wire rack over a tray. Heat enough oil for deep frying in a deep saucepan to 180°C (355°F). Cook the chicken in batches for 10-12 minutes, until golden, crisp and cooked through to 65°C (150°F). Drain on a wire rack. Serve hot with a sprinkle of salt and enjoy!
