Architect Kees Doornenbal geeft een update over de renovatie van het historische pand aan de Heiligeweg 21-25. Vol passie vertelt Kees hoe de voormalige @nespresso winkel wordt omgevormd tot de entree van een indrukwekkende, luxe winkelruimte, met daarboven nieuwe woningen. Het pand staat op een bijzondere historische plek. Deze locatie heeft een veel rijkere geschiedenis met zich mee dan je op het eerste gezicht zou denken. Ooit bevond zich hier namelijk het Clarissenklooster, later het beruchte Rasp-Huys, waar jonge gedetineerden hout moesten raspen voor de productie van verf. 🧟‍♂️ Nog later vond je hier het Heiligwegbad, een zwembad waar menig Amsterdammer zwemles heeft gehad. Het pand op nummer 21-15, een voormalige winkel voor piano’s en andere muziekinstrumenten, is ontworpen door het beroemde architectenduo Kropholler en Staal. Kosten nog moeite werden gespaard om het pand een imposante uitstraling te geven. De rijk gedecoreerde gevel blijft uiteraard in stand en krijgt een opfrisbeurt. ✨ Daarnaast neemt Kees ons mee naar de ruimtes boven de winkel, waar hij met liefde voor ambacht en detail werkt aan de transformatie tot hoogwaardige woningen.
