Potato Skins with sour cream and chives Ingredients potato skins from 6 baked potatoes (see hash browns recipe) 40g butter, melted 1 tbsp olive oil 1 tsp garlic powder Sea salt and white pepper, to season 200g sour cream 1 bunch chives, finely snipped Method Preheat the oven to 200°C fan forced (390°F). Place quartered potato skins on a large baking tray lined with baking paper, skin side up. Combine butter, oil, garlic powder, salt and pepper in a small bowl and mix well. Brush the skins with half of the butter mixture and bake for 15 minutes. Remove from the oven and turn skins over. Brush the inside of the skins with the remaining butter mixture. Return to the oven for a further 15 minutes, until very crisp and golden. Gently mix the sour cream to a spreadable consistency. Place in a shallow serving dish and make an indent in the centre. Sprinkle with the chives. Place the skins on a serving platter with the sour cream for dipping.

Rebuilding A Rustproof Land Rover - Part #21. How To Repair A Brake Servo Vacuum Pump. Originally the Brakes on the Land Rover were highly ineffective using only Inlet Manifold Vacuum connected to a small tank with a one way valve feeding a Brake servo unit. America at 250: A History. Class 5 “Framing a Nation: The Constitution” Professor Joanne Freeman explores the viewpoints leading to the structure and process of the new Constitution.   Recorded in Yale’s Battell Chapel. This one-time-only course examines U.S. history from 1776 to the present, in advance of the nation’s semiquincentennial (or 250th birthday) in 2026. Taught jointly by Professors Joanne Freeman, David Blight, and Beverly Gage, the course emphasizes the history of the nation-state and the contested nature of American national identity. All three scholars will deliver the course’s first and final lectures together, as an introduction and a wrap-up. In between, they will each deliver eight lectures individually based on their areas of expertise.   Joanne Freeman, the Alan Boles, Class of 1929 Professor of History and American Studies, and an expert in the revolutionary and early national periods of American history, will cover the period from the Revolution up through the 1830s, touching on such topics as the birth of party politics, the nature of “Jacksonian democracy,” and the rise of the reform and protest movements. David Blight, Sterling Professor of History and African American Studies and one of the country’s foremost authorities on the history of slavery and the Civil War, will cover the Civil War era up through Reconstruction and the emergence of the Jim Crow laws. Beverly Gage, John Lewis Gaddis Professor of History, who is currently writing a book on the nation’s past to mark the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, will pick up in the 1890s and continue through the end of the 20th century, addressing debates around immigration, wealth inequality, and the creation of the social welfare state.  The course explores U.S. political history broadly conceived–not just as a realm of presidents and elections and wars (though there will be plenty of those) but as a conversation across time between citizens about what the United States is, was, and was meant to be. Stel, je krijgt een boete van 430 euro voor rijden met een telefoon in de hand. Bij een eerste betalingsherinnering komt er 50 procent bij het boetebedrag, bij een tweede aanmaning komt er nog eens 100 procent bij. Het totaalbedrag is dan 1290 euro. Critici vinden het onredelijk als mensen te maken krijgen met boetes die verdrievoudigen, zeker als ze al krap bij kas zitten.  Naar aanleiding van een rechtszaak gaat de Hoge Raad zich buigen over de vraag of het Centraal Justitieel Incassobureau (CJIB) verkeersboetes mag verhogen door dit soort aanmaningen te sturen. Chorizo and Mozzarella Hash Browns Ingredients - 6 medium floury potatoes (Sebago, Russet), cleaned - 40g (¼ cup) cornflour (corn starch) - sea salt and white pepper - 50g butter, melted - 1 tsp garlic powder - 1 chorizo sausage, finely diced - 60g mozzarella - neutral oil, for deep frying Method Step 1: Cook the potatoes 1. Preheat the oven to 200°C fan forced (390°F). 2. Place potatoes on an oven tray lined with baking paper. Prick several times with a fork then bake for 35 minutes, until almost tender. 3. Set aside until cool enough to handle. Step 2: Prep the hash browns 1. Slice the potatoes into quarters and scoop out the flesh in a large chunk. Chill until very cold. Reserve the potato skins for another use. 2. Grate the potatoes into a large bowl. Mix in the cornflour, butter, garlic powder and chorizo. Season well with salt and pepper. 3. Mix well until the potatoes come together like a dough. 4. Slice mozzarella into 6 pieces, approximately 3cm x 6cm x ½ cm. 5. Divide potato mixture into 6 portions and form into balls. Divide each into 2 and flatten 1 portion out in the palm of your hand, then top with a piece of cheese and cover with the other potato portion. 6. Mould into an oval shape and flatten to 3cm high, smoothing the edges. Transfer to a lined tray and freeze for 30 minutes. Step 3: Cook and serve 1. Heat the oil in a deep frying pan to 140°C (285°F). 2. Gently lower the hash browns in batches into the oil and cook for 3 minutes. Carefully transfer back to the tray and chill again until very cold. 3. Increase oil temperature to 180°C (355°F). Cook hash browns again, in batches, for 5 minutes, turning to brown evenly, until very crisp and dark golden. 4. Drain on a wire rack over a tray, season with salt and serve.
