Everyone is saying Europe's leaders are "vassals" and that picture from the Whitehouse proves how Trump humiliated Europe. But if they are "vassals", why do they keep resisting Trump's will? Why can he not impose a solution? Why has he still not ended the Ukraine war? Warwick Powell joined me to assess the deeper dynamics of power in the USA-Europe relationship, and the reasons that not everyone in Europe calls Trump 'Daddy.' ✨Do my Geopolitics and History Masterclass 👉https://jeff-rich.mykajabi.com/offers/YJHLsd4e ✨Learn how to stay sane in a mad world with history in my special 90-minute workshop 👉https://jeff-rich.mykajabi.com/offers/z8mStV22 ✨Dive deep into history at https://jeffrich.substack.com ✨Buy my latest book Thirteen Ways of Looking at a Bureaucrat: Writing on Governing here https://amzn.to/4eLOwev V I D E O S T O W A T C H N E X T: How to resolve conflict in a multipolar world after the WEST v the REST | Prof Michael Rossi https://youtu.be/QEX9cT0ugiw Bogan Intelligentsia Ep. 22: Jeff Rich on Trump-Putin Summit and 50th anniversary of Whitlam Sacking https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6vMfIcRamSs&t=498s Ukraine After the War - Statecraft, Reconciliation and Reconstruction | Warwick Powell https://youtu.be/Kggd1QPaLFA The Rise and Fall of Empires https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLDQM15vyFoOShSanTBo8hJoGAzTQlzrnv ------------------------------------------------------------ Inquiries: jeff@theburningarchive.com

From applying Jojo Mayer’s “reverse engineering” concept to exploring how drummers like Alex Acuña and Dennis Chambers influenced his playing, Baard pulls back the curtain on the technical mastery and creative vision behind his work. Along the way, he breaks down signature grooves, reveals how certain Leprous songs were built from the drums up, and delivers electrifying performances of “The Price,” “Atonement,” “Illuminate,” “Forced Entry,” and “The Sky Is Red.” This session is a look into the mind of one of modern prog’s most inventive and dynamic drummers.

Astrophysicist Matt O'Dowd, theoretical physicist Avi Loeb, and philosopher of science Carol Cleland discuss the possibility of human settlements on other planets. Will we ever have a colony in space? With a free trial, you can watch the full debate NOW at https://iai.tv/video/adventures-in-space?utm_source=YouTube&utm_medium=description Space has a strange hold over us. Star Trek and Star Wars are amongst the most watched films of all time, while the moon landing gripped an era and was the most watched TV event ever. Now new generations are once again hooked by a return to the moon and the prospect of Mars. But what drives us to explore space is puzzling and unknown. The closest planets are desolate rocks. More distant planets have no surface being composed of freezing gas. Earth by comparison is a spectacular paradise. It would currently take 80,000 years to reach the next star and no known future technology is likely to change this by the orders of magnitude required to make it plausible. Is the desire to explore space not practical but psychological, an urge to adventure into the unknown and escape our current limitations? Or should we take seriously Musk's claim that we need to go to Mars to find an alternative to Earth, however inhospitable? Or is the project profoundly mistaken and the consequence of pursuing an evolutionary trait to explore when in this case there is little or nothing to be gained? #space #mars #extraterrestrial #spacetravel #spaceexploration #science #astrophysics #physics Matt O'Dowd is a renowned professor of astrophysics and host and writer of the biggest physics and space show on YouTube, PBS Space Time. Avi Loeb is a leading theoretical astrophysicist and the Frank B. Baird Jr. Professor of Science at Harvard University. Carol Cleland is Director of the Center for the Study of Origins and Professor of Philosophy at the University of Colorado Boulder. Watch my next video right now!https://nebula.tv/videos/stewarthicks-how-we-learned-to-escape-building-fires Get Nebula using my link for 40% off an annual subscription: https://go.nebula.tv/stewarthicks Have you ever walked past a building in a city like Chicago and wondered why no one ever seems to go in or out? It's likely a cleverly disguised piece of critical infrastructure: a substation. In this video, we explore these hidden-in-plain-sight facilities that power entire neighborhoods, examining how and why cities disguise such vital structures. We dive into the world of urban infrastructure, from transformers and circuit breakers hidden behind fake windows and doors, to the architectural evolution of utility buildings from grand monuments like Chicago’s iconic Water Tower to today's camouflaged and inconspicuous designs. But why did we shift from proudly displaying infrastructure as "industrial sublime" to hiding it behind disguises that mimic ordinary buildings? We discuss how concerns over terrorism, aesthetics, and public fears have driven critical urban facilities underground — both literally and metaphorically. We also examine alternative approaches to infrastructure design, highlighting bold examples like architect Stanley Tigerman’s award-winning substation in Chicago and NL Architects’ innovative Heat Transfer Station in Utrecht, where infrastructure becomes engaging public spaces instead of something to hide. Ultimately, we question the costs of invisibility: when we don't see infrastructure, we stop understanding it. This video argues for transparency and visibility, so citizens can better appreciate, maintain, and advocate for the vital systems that keep cities running smoothly. #Architecture #Infrastructure #UrbanDesign #CityPlanning #HiddenInfrastructure #Chicago #Substations #PublicSpace #Camouflage #IndustrialSublime Special Thanks: - Evan Montgomery — Co-Producer - Daniela Osorio Sanudo — Graphics / 3D - SOM (som.com) — Filming Location Bibliography: Gapp, Paul. Since 1823, the Union has been promoting debate and discussion not just in Oxford University, but across the globe. The Oxford Union is deeply grateful and encouraged by the messages of support in response to our determination to uphold free speech. During our 200 year history, many have tried to shut us down. As the effects of self-imposed censorship on university campuses, social media and the arts show no signs of dissipating, the importance of upholding free speech remains as critical today as it did when we were founded in 1823.
