In Spanje is Maricarmen Abascal (87) overleden. Religion wasn’t just belief in ancient Egypt — it was the engine of civilization. Discover how sacred stones, gods, and rituals built a nation. From the star-aligned megaliths at Nabta Playa and a mysterious cow sculpture to early cattle sacrifices, we trace the first sacred spaces that drew people together. See prayer light up the brain in lab scans, watch Sufi rituals create heartbeat synchrony, and meet the earliest shamans on desert canyon walls at Wadi Baramaya. In Nekhen, a desecrated royal tomb hints at revolt — and why rulers claimed Horus to legitimize power. Then come the decisive images on the Narmer Palette, Imhotep’s leap to stone at Saqqara, and the rise of god-kings whose pyramids shone like suns. Were the pyramid builders slaves? The workers’ village tells a different story. Finally, we reveal why modern capitals still borrow temple grandeur — from obelisks to the all-seeing eye. Watch to see how shared belief became social glue, law, and legacy — and why it still shapes our world today. #AncientEgypt #ReligionAndSociety #NabtaPlaya #Narmer #Imhotep #Pyramids

Three years on from the October 7th Hamas attack, Piers Morgan reflects on how global public opinion towards Israel has dramatically shifted. While initial worldwide sympathy saw major global landmarks illuminated in solidarity, the rising human toll in Gaza, international recognition of Palestinian statehood, UK sanctions, and fierce debates over Zionism have altered the geopolitical landscape. "October 7 was bloody, and it was horrific. … But Netanyahu and his government had to go overboard, to exaggerate, to lie, to deceive about what exactly happened" in order to justify their actions in Gaza, says Al Jazeera senior political analyst Marwan Bishara. "Genocides don't start with bombs; they start with ideology. And in this case, the ideology has been decades in the making." Bishara’s new book is "Twelve Days That Shook the Middle East: Origins of a Genocide.”

The company distributed these films to TV stations around the United States, where they were used as fillers, and to present historical events and personalities to the public. Bartell referred to the films as a "visual encyclopedia". 0:00 – Film 1361 Spiro Agnew, candidate for Vice President with Richard Nixon, warns that allowing individuals to take the law into their own hands leads to anarchy, urging young people to work within the system to achieve constructive change. 1:40 – Film 1364 A striking International Longshoreman Association union worker describes the financial hardship of a long strike, relying on Medicare during hospitalization and noting lost benefits but relief at returning to work. Scenes on the picket line and at ports. 2:40 Film 1367 Resurrection City – A U.S. government official asserts that civil liberties do not include disrupting government or blocking infrastructure, while another speaker vows that “Resurrection City” will continue despite threats. It was organized by the Southern Christian Leadership Conference (SCLC). 4:42 Film 1368: Senate Listens to People of Resurrection City 1968 Leaders of the Poor People’s Campaign denounce an unjust economic system, contrasting subsidies to wealthy landowners with meager aid to the poor, and argue that the issue is distribution, not food supply. 6:22 –Film 1366: Resurrection City Pros And Cons 1968 An activist describes Resurrection City and urges the nation to respond to peaceful petitions for justice. 7:54 – Film 1370 Decorated Marine David Monroe Shoup testifies in front of the Senate Committee on Foreign Relations in 1968. He questions the long-term purpose of U.S. military commitments in Vietnam. 9:52 Film 1375: Police and Firemen on strike 1967. Mahoning County, Ohio. A mayor and union representative argue over how to fund $300,000 in police and fire salaries, with the mayor insisting the city has no revenue and cannot meet demands. In September 1967, police officers and firefighters in Youngstown, the county seat of Mahoning County, Ohio, engaged in a significant strike for higher wages. The action was widely reported as the first major police strike since the Boston police strike in 1919. 11:26 Film 1376: Camp Life In Resurrection City 1968 – A mother of nine describes being denied welfare despite dire living conditions, while another participant notes that many residents received regular meals and healthcare for the first time. A final speaker vows to confront political leaders until they deliver jobs and guaranteed income, challenging the gap between calls for “law and order” and the absence of justice. 14:00 Film 1373 Centers for Disease Control and Prevention headquarters building. Palestinians in Gaza marked three years of genocide on October 7, with much of the territory in ruins and basic necessities still severely limited due to Israeli policy. "We are living in the streets, homeless, tired, worn out," said Akram Abu Jarad, a 60-year-old Palestinian man displaced from Beit Hanoun.
