In de serie ‘De Spots van …’ neemt een bekende Amsterdammer je mee naar zijn of haar favoriete plekken in de binnenstad. Dit keer laat contentcreator en zangeres Bibi Espina FC Centrum haar favoriete spots zien. We beginnen bij een plek waar elke Amsterdammer weleens langs- of doorheen loopt zonder waarschijnlijk écht de tijd te nemen om het gebouw te bekijken: het Centraal Station. Loop je na een lange werkdag vermoeid door het station, terwijl je je een weg baant tussen zo’n 200.000 reizigers per dag? Neem dan een momentje om omhoog te kijken. Volgens Bibi zie je dan pas echt hoe indrukwekkend en mooi het station is – een parel van architectuur die mensen in de drukte bijna vergeten te bewonderen. Het werd van 1881 tot 1889 gebouwd en onder andere ontworpen door architect Pierre Cuypers, die ook het Rijksmuseum ontwierp. Vanaf ‘t Centraal Station lopen we door naar een plek waar Bibi een tijd lang heeft gewoond, midden in de stad, aan de Sint Jacobsdwarsstraat om precies te zijn —centraler kan bijna niet. Een plek waar het altijd bruist. Die oordopjes in ‘t weekend waren een kleine opoffering die Bibi met liefde deed om hier te kunnen wonen. Dan gaan we door naar de Dam, waar van alles en iedereen langsloopt. Voor shoppers een plek om tot rust te komen en voor muzikanten misschien wel dé plek om je talenten te laten zien en van je podiumvrees af te komen, want dat het hier hartstikke druk kan zijn weten we allemaal wel. Ook Bibi besloot hier - met bibberende knieën, tegenover het Paleis op de Dam – haar talent te laten horen en van haar plankenkoorts af te komen. Ook leuk om te weten: veel mensen weten niet dat je (als er geen staatsbezoeken zijn) het Paleis op de Dam kunt bezoeken. En nog een goede tip voor de Amsterdammers onder ons met een Stadspas: met je Stadspas kun je het hele jaar door gratis het Paleis op de Dam bezoeken. * We gaan door naar de laatste spot. Geen verborgen parel, maar wel een gouden tip: de Albert Heijn achter het Paleis, een van de weinige plekken waar je volgens Bibi nog voor een normaal bedrag goeie koffie kan halen. Tijdens het happy hour kost een barista-waardige kop koffie hier slechts een euro.
