We examine the origins of the Korean people and state – from prehistoric migrations and technological advances, through the formation of warrior confederations, the rise and fall of the Chinese colony, the tumult and intrigue of the “Three Kingdoms” era, and the arrival of Buddhism, and finally to the unification of most of Korea under the Silla kingdom. As someone who’s watched Formula One since I was a kid—thanks to being introduced to the sport by one of my best mates Eamon—this week on the calendar is always one I look forward to. It’s the first round of the Formula One Championship, and it’s right here in the country I live in, Australia. And this year, we’ve got a fellow Kiwi Liam Lawson starting his first full season in the championship, which makes me super proud. I love seeing Kiwis doing well on the world stage. I got the chance to hang out with Liam for a few minutes, and of course, I thought I’d ask him about food. I’ll save the racing questions for the sports commentary team! Good luck this season, Liam. And maybe one day, I’ll make you a Lamington and change your mind about how delicious they are. @liamlawson30 @redbullracing

Gary Stevenson, Abby Innes, and Nadhim Zahawi discuss the economic failures that have financially crippled all but the richest in society Why do economists consistently fail to make good predictions? With a free trial, you can watch the full debate NOW at https://iai.tv/video/lies-damned-lies-and-economics?utm_source=YouTube&utm_medium=description Governments, bankers and economists spend a great deal of time predicting the economy. Their forecasts have a profound effect on policy. The forecasts though are often wrong, and critics argue we just don't have a credible theory of how the economy works. In 2023, 70% of economists polled predicted a US recession which never happened. In 2021, 16 of the 36 living American Nobel economists declared “there was no threat of inflation”. In Britain, the government body tasked with forecasting, the OBR, has admitted 'genuine errors' in its forecasts of inflation. Not surprisingly one of the world's leading economic research institutes concludes 'pretty much everything we could have got wrong, we got wrong'. Should we conclude that 70 years after Keynes, and 40 years after monetarism, we lack a robust overall economic theory and urgently need one? Can we eradicate the impact of political beliefs and assumptions in economic forecasting? Or are forecasts from economic models always going to fail to make precise predictions and we just have to recognise that reality? #economics #costofliving #capitalism Nadhim Zahawi is a politician who served in various ministerial positions under Prime Ministers Theresa May, Boris Johnson, Liz Truss, and Rishi Sunak. Gary Stevenson is a former financial trader who became an activist against inequality and a prominent YouTuber. Abby Innes is an Associate Professor in Political Economy at LSE focusing on how the UK’s economy mirrors the Soviet Union. Hosted by Hilary Lawson. Which city has the unfriendliest locals in the world? A 53-country Expat Ranking, i.e. of people who largely move abroad for professional reasons, produced a clear "winner". We wanted to do our own survey on the ground and talked to people in Berlin und Paris. This is out new series "For Real": we ask young people on the streets for their honest opinions on the topics that matter. Real voices. Real thoughts. Chapter: 00:00-00:40 Guess the city! 00:40-01:04 Is it really that unfriendly? 01:46-02:31 Experiences Young, bold, European. ENTR a digital space for open discussion about what really matters, what holds us back and what connects us all. We value differences and celebrate what we have in common – no matter where you are from and what you believe in. We speak “European” in eight languages: Bulgarian, Dutch, English, French, German, Polish, Portuguese and Romanian. ENTR a unique channel made by young journalists from DW, France Médias Monde and partners all over Europe. ENTR what’s next!

Europe is spiraling into crisis—its democracy under attack, its people abandoned, and its leaders fueling war, austerity, and authoritarianism. In this explosive speech in Brussels, Yanis Varoufakis exposes the truth about the EU’s dangerous shift, the rise of the far-right, and the corruption of so-called centrists. The EU is turning into a War Union, prioritising military spending over its people. Austerity continues for the many while the elite benefit from unlimited money printing. Elections are being canceled, censorship is rising, and democracy is fading. The far-right and neoliberal elites fuel each other’s power, silencing real opposition while pretending to fight one another. We saw this coming. In 2016, DiEM25 warned: Europe will be democratized, or it will disintegrate. Now, we are at a tipping point. This is not just a crisis; it is a deliberate transformation of Europe into a militarized, oligarchic system that serves only the few. The only way forward is resistance. We must reject Military Keynesianism, fight for economic justice, demand a real Green Transition, and defend democracy against those who seek to erase it. There is no time to wait. We must act now. Watches are more than just little machines we carry to tell the time — they tell the story of the person who wore them before us. Sometimes that's a family member or friend, and for some reason watches carry that story in a special way, showing every little scratch, mark, and dent of a life well lived. That's one of the big reasons I am so into restoring these watches!

Two of the most confident and practiced debaters to have graced the Uncensored channel are undoubtedly journalist Mehdi Hasan and Congressman Dan Crenshaw. In terms of their political allegiances however, they couldn’t be more opposed. In this weighty and vital debate, Mehdi and Dan spar on three main topics; Donald Trump’s first weeks in office and the performance of DOGE, the continuing war between Russia and Ukraine and the arrest of pro-palestinian activist Mahmoud Khalil. Then, Piers Morgan turns to former Ohio State Senator Nina Turner and host of 'Tomi Lahren is Fearless' on Outkick Tomi Lahren, for a discussion on the dire state of the Democratic Party. Although they disagree when it comes to the trans debate, Nina and Tomi agree that the Democrats are struggling to recover. Europe is hurtling toward disaster. Under the illusion of "Peace Through Strength," EU leaders are driving the continent into deeper crisis—economic ruin, political paralysis, and the rise of the far right. In this powerful address, Yanis Varoufakis exposes why European rearmament is not just a mistake, but a catastrophe in the making. With the failure of the EU’s strategy in Ukraine and Trump's open abandonment of Europe, the bloc is left grasping at militarisation—blind to the fact that this path will only accelerate its decline. What’s the real alternative? A bold, independent Europe, free from war-mongering and economic decay. A Europe that stands for peace, not subjugation. This is the message EU leaders don’t want you to hear. Watch now. For reasons that are still unclear, Richard Hammond and I decided to revisit the old Top Gear office—the place where we spent an alarming number of years faffing about in the name of car-based television. Struggling with pinky slurs? Here's how to improve: 1) Keep the pinky curved. 2) Place the fingertip precisely behind the fret. 3) Pull down and off the string (don't flick). 4) Maintain space in your hand and keep it parallel to the guitar. #classicalguitar #slurs #pull-off #hammer-on #guitartechnique

This is the world’s most realistic lightsaber! It’s patented by Disney because they needed a REAL looking lightsaber in Disney Parks… What makes it special compared to toy versions is that smooth extension and perfect glow. Here's how it works... Inside, there’s a clear cap with two long translucent tapes attached to motors that unroll it from the inside, allowing the lightsaber to extend upwards. As they extend out of the hilt, the tapes bend into a concave shape to create a rigid blade. On the tapes are a series of bright LEDS that are programed with strobing and flickering effects to create that perfect lightsaber glow as you move it around. My last question was: What can I do with it? For optimistic science and tech stories, subscribe for more of our show Huge If True! #animation #lightsaber #science #tech #stem

This is episode #5 of Siccas Spotlight, dedicated to the two legendary pioneer luthiers, Matthias Dammann and Gernot Wagner. As the pioneers of Double Top guitars from the very beginning, this long-overdue documentary focuses on two of their guitars built in 1992—at the brink of their evolution toward Double Top construction. At that time, both were still experimenting with solid-top instruments, shaping what would later become a revolutionary development in guitar making. If you have ever wondered which guitar our Siccas Guitars team member Jouyan would choose for himself, Siccas Spotlight is the perfect program for you. In this show, Jouyan shares his personal taste in selecting a guitar. Compared to our Weekly Guitar Meeting, this show offers a more subjective presentation. Enjoy the show!
