Exploring the great Wall of China has become the lifetime obsession of British historian William Lindesay. In this 50-minute special, Lindesay travels from one end of China to another to show us how and why the Wall was built, how its construction differs according to region – and how it is really many walls built by different dynasties, and not one single Wall. -- Welcome to the official Get.factual youtube channel! 🌍 We are a documentary streaming channel covering history, science, technology, and nature. I've been really curious to know when would happen, if I put a regular chicken drumstick, into piranha solution. WARNING: Piranha solution is EXTREMELY dangerous. It can even be explosive when mixed with the wrong things, and can shred just about anything organic. It was handled properly in a controlled environment. Please do not attempt this. #shorts

What if continents and oceans switched places? The Pacific becomes a supercontinent. Earth's deepest point is Everest Deep, and is almost nine kilometers below sea-level. And the Mid-Atlantic Canyon divides the world from pole to pole. Life finds a way but struggles in this new, upside-down, inverted world. Two of the most confident and practiced debaters to have graced the Uncensored channel are undoubtedly journalist Mehdi Hasan and Congressman Dan Crenshaw. In terms of their political allegiances however, they couldn’t be more opposed. In this weighty and vital debate, Mehdi and Dan spar on three main topics; Donald Trump’s first weeks in office and the performance of DOGE, the continuing war between Russia and Ukraine and the arrest of pro-palestinian activist Mahmoud Khalil. Then, Piers Morgan turns to former Ohio State Senator Nina Turner and host of 'Tomi Lahren is Fearless' on Outkick Tomi Lahren, for a discussion on the dire state of the Democratic Party. Although they disagree when it comes to the trans debate, Nina and Tomi agree that the Democrats are struggling to recover. Europe is hurtling toward disaster. Under the illusion of "Peace Through Strength," EU leaders are driving the continent into deeper crisis—economic ruin, political paralysis, and the rise of the far right. In this powerful address, Yanis Varoufakis exposes why European rearmament is not just a mistake, but a catastrophe in the making. With the failure of the EU’s strategy in Ukraine and Trump's open abandonment of Europe, the bloc is left grasping at militarisation—blind to the fact that this path will only accelerate its decline. What’s the real alternative? A bold, independent Europe, free from war-mongering and economic decay. A Europe that stands for peace, not subjugation. This is the message EU leaders don’t want you to hear. Watch now. For reasons that are still unclear, Richard Hammond and I decided to revisit the old Top Gear office—the place where we spent an alarming number of years faffing about in the name of car-based television. Struggling with pinky slurs? Here's how to improve: 1) Keep the pinky curved. 2) Place the fingertip precisely behind the fret. 3) Pull down and off the string (don't flick). 4) Maintain space in your hand and keep it parallel to the guitar. #classicalguitar #slurs #pull-off #hammer-on #guitartechnique

This is the world’s most realistic lightsaber! It’s patented by Disney because they needed a REAL looking lightsaber in Disney Parks… What makes it special compared to toy versions is that smooth extension and perfect glow. Here's how it works... Inside, there’s a clear cap with two long translucent tapes attached to motors that unroll it from the inside, allowing the lightsaber to extend upwards. As they extend out of the hilt, the tapes bend into a concave shape to create a rigid blade. On the tapes are a series of bright LEDS that are programed with strobing and flickering effects to create that perfect lightsaber glow as you move it around. My last question was: What can I do with it? For optimistic science and tech stories, subscribe for more of our show Huge If True! #animation #lightsaber #science #tech #stem

This is episode #5 of Siccas Spotlight, dedicated to the two legendary pioneer luthiers, Matthias Dammann and Gernot Wagner. As the pioneers of Double Top guitars from the very beginning, this long-overdue documentary focuses on two of their guitars built in 1992—at the brink of their evolution toward Double Top construction. At that time, both were still experimenting with solid-top instruments, shaping what would later become a revolutionary development in guitar making. If you have ever wondered which guitar our Siccas Guitars team member Jouyan would choose for himself, Siccas Spotlight is the perfect program for you. In this show, Jouyan shares his personal taste in selecting a guitar. Compared to our Weekly Guitar Meeting, this show offers a more subjective presentation. Enjoy the show! In the remnants of a supposed ceasefire, the fighters of Hamas and the IDF continue to engage each other and create more destruction; though with a strong advantage to the Israelis. In an effort to force Hamas to release all the remaining hostages, Israel has cut off the power supply to the Gaza strip, in a move that activists say will just mean more suffering for innocent Palestinians. Miles away, President Donald Trump has posted AI-generated video of Gaza’s reconstruction, complete with golden statues and Trump hotels. But what is actually in store for the Palestinian people seems to be a far throw from this gaudy paradise. For a debate on the current state of affairs in Israel and Palestine, Piers Morgan is joined by ‘America’s Rabbi’ and author of 'Holocaust Holiday' Rabbi Shmuley, journalist and 'Pushback' host for The Grayzone Aaron Mate and Palestinian-American commentator Omar Baddar. Rupert Sheldrake, Timothy Morton, J.K. and Curt Jaimungal discuss the present. Does the present really exist? Can we experience it? With a free trial, you can watch the full debate now - in the present - at https://iai.tv/video/the-phantom-of-the-present?utm_source=YouTube&utm_medium=description We don't know the past or the future, but we think we know the present. The moment of the present, T. S. Eliot's 'still point of the turning world', provides us with our observations of the world, the evidence for science, and the content of our consciousness. Yet, philosophers and neuroscientists have argued the present is unattainable and unknowable. Poststructuralists like Derrida claim there is no 'now' that provides direct and immediate access to meaning. Our descriptions are part of a shifting web of meaning that we can never get to the bottom of and which is limited by culture and history. Moreover, leading neuroscientists claim the reality we perceive in the present is a form of hallucination, or interface, evolved for survival. Do we need to give up the idea that the present is a moment of truth that provides the reality of experience? Are our descriptions of the present always undecidable and indeterminate? Or is the notion of a fixed present essential if we are to create and judge our theories and accounts of reality, without which we would be hopelessly lost? #time #livinginthepresent #present #past #future 00:00 Introduction 00:20 Rupert Sheldrake on retrocausality 04:10 Timothy Morton on time 06:18 Rupert Sheldrake: Is the present a process or a state? 10:15 Kafka, cats and self-fulfilling prophecies Winner of the Orange First Novel prize, J. Timothy Morton is the Rita Shea Guffey Chair in English at Rice University. A member of the object-oriented philosophy movement, Morton's work explores the intersection of object-oriented thought and ecological studies. Morton has published numerous books including 'Dark Ecology: For a Logic of Future Coexistence', 'The Ecological Thought' and 'Hyposubjects: On Becoming Humane'. Rupert Sheldrake is a scientist, author, and parapsychology researcher. At Cambridge University, he worked in developmental biology as a Fellow of Clare College. Thousands of people seeking safety and a better life are being forced onto Europe’s deadliest migration route—the Atlantic passage to Spain’s Canary Islands. They are not just dying; they are being killed by EU policies that push people into ever more dangerous journeys. In this urgent discussion, Tiare Gatti Mora interviews Eoghan Gilmartin: writer, translator, Jacobin contributor – amongst other media – and host of the Sobremesa Podcast. Eoghan discusses his article “Migrant Deaths Off Spain’s Coast Are Worse Than Ever” recently published in Jacobin, tackling Fortress Europe’s brutal border regime and the place migration holds in our current context. They expose how Fortress Europe deliberately turns the sea into a graveyard, how even Spain’s so-called progressive government is complicit, and what a real humane migration policy could look like.
