Speed, tone quality, and control can suffer. Good technique gets stronger and more instinctive with every practice. It forms the bedrock foundation for your music. And you may want to understand music so you learn it more easily and it makes more sense. This can help you avoid the excess frustration and dismay that comes with shoddy practice and prolonged confusion. But playing the notes is not enough. Like an actor bring words to life, we breathe life into our pieces. And we can do this in an organized way, day in and day out, reliably. Great musicians can play wonderfully in any mood. They do not rely on emotions. Instead, they create music that affects our emotions. This is a trained skill, not an inborn talent. Playing classical guitar is a long-term study. It's something we do in our homes as part of our days. We play for ourselves, for the quality it adds to life. We may enjoy playing guitar for others, but most of the time we are alone with our work. There are methods and formulas for great practice. We can use our time well so that see more progress. We can fix the problems and erase the mistakes. And we can enjoy conquering the plentiful challenges that classical guitar music offers. If you plan to play classical guitar for any length of time, it is worth it to get help. What if you got sucked into a black hole? First you’d be smashing into burning hot gas and dust inside what’s called the accretion disk. As you get closer to the center, you’d notice the universe looks like it’s speeding up, because the black hole is so massive it’s warping space and time around you. Going deeper, you’d reach a point where if you looked to your left or right, you might see the back of your own head! Because gravity here is so strong, light is getting bent completely around the black hole… You’re now approaching the event horizon. Where the gravitational pull is so strong, even light can’t escape. As you pass beyond it, in a supermassive black hole, your body is being stretched and squished. Met Donald Trump als president van de Verenigde Staten wordt de invloed van deze groepen steeds groter. Zembla onderzoekt een netwerk dat de ‘natuurlijke orde’ wil herstellen door strengere wetten in te voeren tegen abortus, homoseksualiteit en LHBTIQ+, anticonceptie en echtscheidingen. Ons onderzoek begint in Washington DC. Onderzoeksjournalist Sara Posner vertelt dat de capitoolbestorming in 2021 vol zat met christelijke symboliek. Analisten wijzen onder andere op kruizen, spandoeken van Jezus met een MAGA-pet, en heiligenbeelden. Nu Donald Trump weer in het Witte Huis zit, wordt het voor de lobbyisten dan ook steeds makkelijker om Amerika te transformeren naar een conservatieve, christelijke staat. Daarvoor is zelfs een gedetailleerd strategisch plan geschreven: Project 2025. Project 2025 komt uit de koker van de conservatieve Heritage Foundation. De groep wil de macht van de president vergaand uitbreiden. Zo willen ze kritische ambtenaren wegwerken, het klimaatbeleid schrappen en immigranten deporteren. In het draaiboek staan daarnaast veel conservatieve, christelijke plannen. In Washington DC zie je ook Paul Dans en Rob Schenck. Schenck was tientallen jaren een invloedrijk lobbyist voor christelijke wetgeving en had contacten op het allerhoogste niveau. Als steeds meer christelijke leiders zich achter Donald Trump scharen, neemt hij een opmerkelijk besluit dat zijn leven compleet zal veranderen: hij breekt met zijn conservatieve geloofsgenoten. Schenck gelooft nog wel, maar staat niet meer achter de acties van de lobbygroepen, omdat ze volgens hem mensen schaden. Een deel van de organisaties achter Project 2025 is ook actief in Europa. Jelle Postma, voormalig AIVD’er en directeur van Justice for Prosperity, vertelt wat de organisaties hier precies doen. Ze steunen gelijkgestemden met rechtszaken, politieke beïnvloeding en geld. Het gaat om miljoenen dollars. Zembla brengt de internationale geldstromen in kaart en achterhaalt dat er de afgelopen zeven jaar bijna 60 miljoen dollar is overgemaakt van Amerika naar Europa. Dit geld komt van de Alliance Defending Freedom en andere organisaties uit de Verenigde Staten. Waar de invloed van conservatief-christelijke groeperingen toe kan leiden, is te zien in Polen. Daar was tot voor kort radicaal-rechts aan de macht. Achter de schermen van de Poolse politiek speelde een katholieke groepering een cruciale rol bij de invoering van conservatieve wetgeving: Ordo Iuris. Zo is de groep de drijvende kracht achter een uiterst strenge abortuswet die in 2016 in het Poolse parlement is ingediend. De wet leidde tot massale demonstraties. Klementyna Suchanow is een van de leiders van de protestbeweging. Zij vertelt dat de autoriteiten tijdens de demonstraties regelmatig hard ingrepen. In het netwerk van conservatieve, christelijke lobbyisten duikt ook een Nederlander op: Henk Jan van Schothorst. Hij blijkt veel contacten te hebben in Afrikaanse landen. Nadat hij samen met Sharon Slater in Oeganda is geweest, brengt de Oegandese regering een persverklaring uit waarin staat dat ze ‘verenigd zijn tegen homoseksualiteit’. Afrika-deskundige Kristof Titeca legt daar meer over uit.
