Over 600 protesters are now camped outside Madrid's regional government headquarters demanding new tenant protections. "What we have is a lot of furious people, enraged people, that are demanding from the government and from the public institutions that they give us give us some sort of solution," says Sabina Carrau, a spokesperson for the Madrid Tenants' Union, which is supporting the "Maricarmen decree" named after Abascal, set to be debated by Spain's government this week. Housing in Spain, as in much of the world, "is really connected to tourism, really connected to having and buying a house to make a speculation," says socialist parliamentarian Tesh Sidi, who is calling instead for the guaranteed right to housing and "the right to have an affordable life." Sidi, the only Sahrawi member of the Spanish parliament, also comments on Spain's colonial relationship to Western Sahara and the state of Sahrawi rights and self-determination. The “Student List - Students are Winning" has enjoyed plenty of support from the public. Their approach to politics is different from what Serbia is used to. The students have deliberately avoided putting one single leader at the head of the movement. Their message is simple: they want to change the country's political system, not replicate it. Their programme focuses on three key priorities: fighting corruption, improving education and creating better opportunities for young people. And what about the EU? Well, Serbia remains a candidate for EU membership – but corruption and other factors continue to complicate its potential accession. The students say Europe is the logical right direction for Serbia – but that ultimately, that’s a decision for voters. Right now the election campaign is turning ugly. AI-generated videos, edited photos and other manipulated content have appeared online, in an attempt to discredit Ilija Srdanović, the lead candidate on the Student List. Na een verbouwing van twee jaar gaat de eerste van de drie silo's op het Zeeburgereiland binnenkort open voor publiek. Het gaat om de meest westelijke van de drie torens, waarin tot begin 2000 rioolwater werd gezuiverd. Nu komt er een bioscoop. Wij namen alvast een kijkje in de silo met projectontwikkelaar Jurgen Dingemans. Op het oog moet er nog wel flink wat gebeuren voor het allemaal af is, maar Dingemans is stellig: "Vanaf november opent Rialto echt de deuren en kun je hier naar de film. Die belofte staat." Vijf bioscoopzalen, een café, een rooftopbar en kantoren. Dat komt er allemaal in de silo die binnenkort de deuren opent. "Daar aan het eind koop je straks je tickets en daar rechts achterin ga je dan naar de zalen", vertelt Dingemans op de benedenverdieping van de toren. Om hem heen gebeurt nog van alles. "Er wordt hard gewerkt door veel mensen die hier al twee jaar met bloed, zweet en tranen aan het werk zijn, dus ik heb er vertrouwen in", zegt Dingemans. Bioscoop, sportschool en horeca Jarenlang stonden de silo's leeg en hadden ze geen functie. Omdat de gemeente de markante silo's niet wilde laten slopen, werd er een prijsvraag uitgeschreven. De wildste plannen passeerden vervolgens de revue. Van verticale escaperooms tot enorme chocoladezwembaden. In september 2024 werd uiteindelijk begonnen met het ombouwen en verhogen van de torens. Er komen geen chocoladezwembaden, maar dus wel een bioscoop, kantoren, een sportschool en meerdere horeca-gelegenheden. Aan de torens waar de sportschool en de restaurants, bars en cafés in komen, wordt nog iets langer gewerkt dan aan de bioscooptoren. Begin 2027 moeten ook die torens worden opgeleverd. Ook in en rondom die twee torens moet nog het nodige gebeuren, maar dat komt helemaal goed, zegt Dingemans. Amsterdams aanvoelende horeca Wat we kunnen verwachten van het restaurant op de begane grond? "Het wordt echt een Amsterdams aanvoelende horecagelegenheid waar iedereen welkom is. Dus dit wordt geen fine dining of breakfast only", vertelt Dingemans. Ook de sportschool die in de middelste toren komt, gaat begin volgend jaar open. In its efforts to deport as many undocumented immigrants as possible, the Trump administration has increasingly relied on a highly controversial strategy: deporting people to countries they have no connection to. Last week, a federal court ruled the practice to be illegal because it violated people’s right to due process. The administration challenged that ruling, and now it is in front of the Supreme Court. Nadat uit een medisch onderzoek bleek dat hij in juist die periode een psychotische aanval zou hebben gehad, had Rob geen geloof meer in de missie die hij van Jezus had gekregen om verslaafden en daklozen te helpen. Damsko vertrok medio 2024 bij Rob, en liet een gebroken man achter die geen zin meer had zich uit te dossen als cowboy of om zich überhaupt nog onder de mensen te begeven. Nu twee jaar later gaat Damsko terug naar Rob, om de honderdste aflevering van de show met hem te vieren. Alleen wat we aantreffen is niet fijn. Rob is onlangs van de roltrap gevallen bij metrohalte Rokin, en heeft zijn arm op meerdere plaatsen gebroken. Ook leeft hij nog min of meer als een kluizenaar, net als de laatste keer dat we hem zagen. Parāoa Parai - Fry Bread Ingredients 600g (4 cups) plain flour 7g (1 standard sachet) instant yeast 6g (1 tsp) salt 12g (2 1/2 tsp) sugar 150mL (1/2 cup + 2 tbsp) milk, warmed 250mL (1 cup) warm water neutral oil, for frying golden syrup and salted butter to serve Method Step 1: Mix the dough In a large bowl, mix the flour, yeast, salt, and sugar. Make a well in the centre of the flour mixture. Gradually add the warm milk and warm water into the centre of the well, mixing until a soft dough forms. Knead for about 5–10 minutes until smooth and elastic. Cover and let rise in a warm area for 1 hour, or until it has doubled in size. Step 2: Shape and fry Punch down the dough, then reshape it into a tight ball. Lightly oil a workbench then use a rolling pin to flatten the dough into a 1cm thick square, 30cm x 30cm. Use a dough divider or large knife to cut the dough into 16 even squares. Heat oil in a deep fryer or pot over medium-high heat to 180ºC (350ºF). Fry each piece for 2–3 minutes per side, until golden brown and cooked through. Drain on paper towels and serve warm with golden syrup and salted butter.

De Vlaamse minister-president geeft elk jaar op de 4e maandag van september een toespraak in het Vlaams Parlement. Dat is de Septemberverklaring. Daarin stelt hij het beleid voor het komende politieke jaar voor en de begroting is daarvan een belangrijk onderdeel. Zo moet er ook morgen een akkoord zijn over de begroting en het beleid, maar de onderhandelingen over de Vlaamse begroting lopen nog altijd niet goed. Morgen om twee uur wordt Vlaams Minister-President Matthias Diependaele in het parlement verwacht, met een akkoord over de begroting en zijn Septemberverklaring. It's believed that this was filmed in Houston, Texas, and used to simulate three dimensional space travel. A large globe of the planet Earth (:58) was filmed by a closed circuit TV camera to provide an out-the-window view of the planet as it might be seen in orbit (1:53). A large gyroscope is seen in the footage at (3:28). The computer shown at (3:08) is a Scientific Data Systems (SDS) mainframe, used to provide guidance for the Command Module. At (5:44) a "word" is input into the guidance system. According to a NASA website, "The Command Module Simulator was used to train the Apollo astronauts. It was used in conjunction with the Lunar Module Simulator. The simulated command module was patterned after the actual spacecraft. Although motion was not simulated physically, the sensations were provided by a visual system. Realism of the mission was maintained by simulating all aspects of flight that the crew would encounter, including system sounds, failures, fire, life support, and food preparation. Three simulation engineers conducted the training missions and had the capability to insert malfunctions to enhance crew training." The Apollo Guidance Computer (AGC) was a digital computer produced for the Apollo program that was installed on board each Apollo command module (CM) and Apollo Lunar Module (LM). Op de Dam zijn vanmiddag duizenden mensen samengekomen om te demonstreren voor vrede en zich uit te spreken tegen oorlog. De demonstratie werd georganiseerd door FNV Young & United, de LSVb en de Nieuwe Vredesbeweging, met als doel minder geld naar defensie, geen herinvoering van de dienstplicht en een stop op militarisering: "Ik ben docent en wil een voorbeeld zijn voor mijn leerlingen." Maar er was ook kritiek op het protest. Juliana Könning, vicevoorzitter van de Landelijke Studentenvakbond, maakt zich vooral zorgen om een mogelijke invoering van de dienstplicht: "Sociale zekerheid en zorg worden nu afgebroken voor militaire steun. Jongeren moeten nu gaan opdraaien voor keuzes die zij niet hebben gemaakt." Daarnaast zet zij vraagtekens bij de effectiviteit: "Dan gaan we jongeren krijgen die een schot kunnen lossen en kunnen marcheren. Dat is geen leger, dat is kanonnenvoer." Voorafgaand aan de demonstratie was er ook kritiek. De organisatie stelt namelijk ook de militaire steun aan Oekraïne ter discussie. Van de Tweede Kamerfracties schaarde daarom alleen de SP zich achter de demonstratie. Andere partijen, zoals Pro en D66, willen wapens kunnen blijven geven aan Oekraïne.  "Het is best wel bijzonder om te merken dat als je het zegt: 'Ik sta ook voor vrede', dat het een soort oorlogsverklaring lijkt", zegt Tweede Kamerlid Sarah Dobbe van de SP.  "Ik denk dat dat heel erg veel zegt over de retoriek die we de afgelopen twee jaar over ons heen gestort krijgen, van generaals in talkshows en van columnisten. Op het moment dat je zegt: ik wil naast steun voor Oekraïne ook een pad naar vrede, zodat de slachting van de werkende klasse in de loopgraven daar een keer stopt, word je direct op één hoop gegooid met iedereen die Kremlin-propaganda loopt te verkondigen." Neele Boelens: "We veroordelen ook de aanval van Rusland en we zeggen dus niet automatisch dat die militaire steun aan Oekraïne direct stopgezet moet worden. Maar we zeggen dat meer wapens niet per definitie een duurzame oplossing gaat brengen." Een oplossing zien de demonstranten in "overleg en politieke druk". Boelens: "We vinden het naïef om te bedenken dat we alles moeten oplossen via het leveren van duurzame wapens, wat geen duurzame oplossing is." Een demonstrerend gezin is vooral aanwezig vanwege de dienstplicht: "We breken onze hele zorgstaat af voor onze eigen kinderen. Doe normaal. Ik wil mijn kinderen niet naar het front sturen.
