We found an unlabeled VHS tape with this footage on it. It was pretty damaged, but I think this is some kind of disgusting how it’s made video. This large silicone cavity and three burlap masks were featured in the Papameat video “The Internet’s Weirdest Nightmares”. The team toiled away, sculpting and molding every crevice and bump, painting this giant hole to the perfect shade to create the nightmare of MeatCanyon’s dreams. We also took great care with the ominous masks, each stitch adding an extra creep factor to the final video. On the border between France and Switzerland is the biggest science experiment ever built. It’s a tunnel, over 100 meters underground and 27 kilometers long. Inside that tunnel, scientists put a long blue tube… and inside that tube, they put two pipes that they keep colder and emptier than outer space… and down those pipes, they fire particles smaller than atoms… in opposite directions, pushing them faster and faster until, when they’re almost the speed of light, they finally smash together! But my question was… how do they get them to actually hit each other?? Here's the answer. It is amazing that humanity can do this. In this video, I introduce you to Rabindranath Tagore, the great Indian/Bengali writer who won the Nobel Prize in 1913. I give an overview of his life and work, and then read the great essay he wrote in 1941, "Crisis in Civilization." Confronted by the British Empire and the outbreak of world war, Tagore wrote in that essay: “The spirit of violence which perhaps lay dormant in the psychology of the West, has at last roused itself and desecrates the spirit of Man." He also warned today's civilizations that, "“By unrighteousness man prospers, gains what appears desirable, conquers enemies, but perishes at the root." The Nature Documentary follows the course of the Volga from its many sources to where it starts to be the dominant force in the European part of Russia. Here, European bison, moose and wild bear live side by side with beavers, minks or otters. The still intact river habitats provide shelter for species that are virtually absent in Western Europe. The Russian Desman’s global distribution is restricted to the Volga basin. In slow-flowing side arms, these strange water moles hunt for insects and fish. The journey goes throughthe forests of Central Russia through the steppes on the outskirts of Kazakhstan to the mighty estuary on the Caspian Sea. Like a gigantic tree, the river stretches across the entire Western Russian lowlands. The Southern course is over 1,300 km long before the Volga gets lost in hundreds of individual arms in the Caspian delta. -- Welcome to the official Get.factual youtube channel! 🌍 We are a documentary streaming channel covering history, science, technology, and nature. Sweet and Spicy Noodles In under 20 minutes Ingredients - 1 spring onion, sliced (greens and whites separated) - thumb-sized piece of ginger, finely sliced - 4 cloves garlic, finely crushed - 1 tsp sugar - 1 tbsp soy bean paste - 1 tbsp chilli crisps - 1 tbsp soy sauce - 1/2 tbsp black vinegar - pinch of MSG - 150g raw peanuts (5.3 oz) - 2 tbsp oil - 1 packet (approximately 450g) fresh egg noodles (1 lb) Method 1. Ensure all ingredients are ready before you start cooking. Crush the garlic, slice the spring onion, and finely slice the ginger. 2. In a small bowl, combine the sugar, soy bean paste, chilli crisps, soy sauce, black vinegar, and MSG. Mix well and set aside. 3. Add the peanuts to a dry wok over high heat and toast them for 1-2 minutes until they are golden brown. 4. Add the oil to the wok with the toasted peanuts. Add the finely sliced ginger and garlic, and sauté for 1 minute. Then, add the white part of the spring onion. 5. Add the fresh egg noodles to the wok. Toss them 1-2 times before adding the sauce. 6. Continue to stir-fry over high heat for 2 minutes, tossing and stirring constantly to ensure the sauce is evenly distributed over the noodles. 7. Plate the dish and garnish with the green part of the spring onion.

To answer this we must begin way back in 1973, with the first oil crisis which occurred the Organization of Arab Petroleum Exporting Countries or OPEC initiated a total oil embargo. The result was a shock and dramatic shortage of crude oil that caused the price of a barrel of oil and derived products to increase by 300% shortly after the embargo was put into place. The problem with the European oil processing industry in the years after the 1973 oil crisis was that they no longer had buyers for their heavy distillates because the energy generation and heating systems of Europe had transitioned to other sources. But oil refineries weren’t the only ones impacted by the oil crisis. Vehicle manufacturers also suffered because the dramatic increase in fuel prices lead to a dramatic decrease in car sales. So manufacturers sought to offer buyers more fuel efficient alternatives in the form of vehicles with diesel engines which are naturally more fuel efficient than their gasoline counterparts. The main reasons behind this being that diesel engines naturally operate at noticeably higher compression ratios, they don’t need a homogenous air fuel mixture and don’t require a throttle body to function which means that they can run at very lean air fuel ratios and don’t suffer from pumping losses. Faced with reduced taxation, improved fuel economy and better performance and driveability in the real world many buyers started started switching to diesel engined cars. If we look at the data it becomes obvious how dieselisation was never a matter of user preference or different tastes in Europe and the US or other countries. If we compare Japan and Europe we can observe very similar low rates of diesel share in the market. The markets only start diverging when European legislation started strongly favoring diesels and creating incentives for buyers. If we observe Europe on a country by country basis we can see that diesel adoption is highest in countries like France for example where legislation and taxation was very favourabnle for diesels. But initially it appeared thst the mass dieselisation of the vehicle market was a win for everyone in Europe. Oil refineries got a market for their products. Consumers got better cars. Car makers got profits. C02 emissions got reduced. Almost sounds too good to be true. .Well pretty soon it became clear that it indeed all was too good to be true because as time moved on and emissions standards became more stringent it became evident that getting diesel engines to meet new emissions standards was far harder than it was originally envisaged by the Auto Oil 1 and 2 programmes. And so Manufacturers started reducing the compression ratio of diesel engines to reduce nitrogen oxide emissions. Which sort of defeats the purpose of a diesel engine because reducing the compression ratio also reduced efficiency and power output. To restore power manufacturers increased the boost pressure from the turbocharger which lead to increased C02 emissions which ultimately resulted in equivalent diesel and petrol engines having pretty much the same power output and the same C02 emissions. But in 2015 it became evident just how far manufacturers were stretching the truth when it was discovered that VW had to cheat to meet US emissions tests. They reprogrammed their diesel vehicles to be able to detect when they are undergoing emissions testing and then run the engine in a reduced performance mode in order to generate reduced emissions and pass the test. When not being tested and driven in normal conditions the vehicles were actually emitting 14 times more nitrogen oxides then the allowable US limit and 3 times more than the Euro 5 emissions standard. Genghis Khan is portrayed as a villain in Western media due to his extreme violence and mass murders, while also being seen as a hero for his incredible achievements in creating the largest contiguous empire ever in only 25 years. His military campaigns were marked by strategic brilliance and extreme brutality, including the execution of enemies through methods designed to instil terror, such as pouring molten silver into the eyes and ears of adversaries. Despite his violent methods, Genghis Khan implemented policies of religious tolerance and meritocracy. Welcome to Chronicle; your home for all things medieval history! Trolls of Wall Street is a new book telling the story of an improbable gang of self-proclaimed “degenerates” who made WallStreetBets into a cultural movement that moved from the fringes of the internet to the center of Wall Street, upending the global financial markets and changing how an entire generation thinks about money, investing, and themselves. It tells the story of the people like Keith Gill (known online as Roaring Kitty) who made and lost millions, battling with each other—and with Wall Street—for power and status. It is a sobering account of how millions of young Americans became obsessed with money and the markets, casting a long and lasting influence over finance, politics, and popular culture. Actor Terrence Howard claims that he has invented a theory of everything that improves physics, based on the idea that 1x1=2. After an appearance on the Joe Rogan podcast, his ideas have unfortunately attracted attention. It is, of course, complete bullshit, but I try to say it nicely. Velveting Beef (The Proper Way) Ingredients: - Beef (topside or chuck), sliced into thin strips against the grain - Baking soda (1 tablespoon per 1 kg of meat) - Water (3 tablespoons) Instructions: 1. Slice the beef into thin strips against the grain. 2. Add 1 tablespoon of baking soda for every 1 kg (2.2 lbs) of meat. 3. Add 3 tablespoons of water and mix really well. 4. Leave the beef in the fridge for 30-45 minutes. 5. Rinse the beef well under cold water. 6. Drain well and leave to dry for a few minutes in a colander. 7. Marinate with whatever you fancy. 8. Wok fry as you would normally. Worth noting: This method works best with tough cuts of beef like topside or chuck. The texture of the cooked meat is very different from a cooked steak, so it is best used when wok frying meat with other vegetables and sauces. #shorts #shortsvideo #beef #wok

Bans on the speech of government officials diminish us all. There have been new laws in Germany and an EU proposal for a "Democracy Shield" that amount to a modern demand, like Maxwell Smart, to bring down the cone of silence. But the cone of silence did not work in Get Smart and it does not work for democracies today. In this video, I introduce my latest Substack essay, "The silence of the bureaucrats: how restrictions on officials' speech diminish us all" (https://open.substack.com/pub/jeffrich/p/the-silence-of-the-bureaucrats?r=azb1g&utm_campaign=post&utm_medium=web) Subscribe to my free weekly email to receive insights from world history in a weekly essay on Saturday at https://jeffrich.substack.com You can read more of my writing on governing and life as a bureaucrat by buying my book: Thirteen Ways of Looking at a Bureaucrat: Writing on Governing https://amzn.to/3SaI4Ty
