The event featured key speeches from Irish MEP Clare Daly, MeRA25 Greece leader Yanis Varoufakis, MeRA25 Greece candidate Faizal Zacharia El Masr, Jewish peace activist Iris Hefets and candidates of the MERA25 political parties in Germany (Karin De Rigo) and Italy (Elettra Stamboulis and Federico Dolce) were also present for the event. DiEM25 was in attendance in Athens for the official launch of the European Elections campaign of MERA25 Germany, MERA25 Italy, and MeRA25 Greece. Ahead of the event, speakers gathered at Eleftheria Square at 19:00 local time, for a demonstration against the ongoing genocide of Palestinians by the Israeli regime. May 15 served as a rallying cry for those who dream of an independent, peaceful, just, and sustainable Europe, where every citizen can lead a dignified life. He explains the function of each part, highlighting that the adhesive is a viscoelastic substance — a substance that can act like a liquid or a solid and it can behave elastically. Once applies the adhesive behaves like a solid to support weight and keep the tape in place. 04:13 Cloth reinforcement Bill mentions that the weight is held up by the cloth reinforcement. Fish Biryani Serves: 6 Prep time: 1.5 hours Cook time: 1 hour Ingredients For the Fish Marinade: - 600g (1.3 lbs) barramundi, skin off and cut into 2cm (¾ inch) cubes - 1.5 tsp coriander powder - 1 tsp Kashmiri chilli powder - 1.5 tsp fish curry masala - small knob ginger, finely grated - 3 cloves garlic, finely grated - juice of 1 lemon - 2 tbsp vegetable oil - 1 tsp salt - 2 tbsp ghee For the Gravy: - 8 small red onions, finely sliced - 6 cloves garlic, finely grated - thumb-sized piece ginger, finely grated - 2 tomatoes, diced - 2-3 green chillies, sliced - 2 tbsp vegetable oil - salt to taste - 1 tsp Kashmiri chilli powder - 1.5 tsp fennel powder - 1 tbsp biryani masala - 2 tbsp tomato paste For the Rice: - 1 cinnamon stick - 2 cloves - 4 green cardamom pods - 1 tbsp salt - 500g (1.1 lbs) basmati rice, washed and soaked for 20 minutes in cold water - small pinch saffron - 2 tbsp milk - small bunch coriander, chopped - small bunch mint, chopped - 1 tbsp ghee Method 1. Marinate the Fish: - In a bowl, combine the barramundi cubes, coriander powder, Kashmiri chilli powder, fish curry masala, grated ginger, grated garlic, lemon juice, vegetable oil, and salt. Mix well, cover, and refrigerate for 45 minutes to an hour. 2. Prepare the Onions: - In a large pot, add two-thirds of the sliced onions, 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil, and a pinch of salt. Sauté until golden brown and almost crispy. Remove from the pot and drain on a paper towel. 3. Cook the Gravy: - In the same pot, add the remaining onions, green chilies, ginger, garlic, and a small pinch of salt. Sauté for 2-3 minutes. Add the diced tomatoes and sauté for an additional 2 minutes. - Add the Kashmiri chilli powder, fennel powder, and biryani masala. Stir well and cook for 1-2 minutes. Add the tomato paste and 200ml (7 fl oz) water. Mix well and simmer over medium-low heat for 35-40 minutes. 4. Cook the Fish: - Heat 2 tablespoons of ghee in a frying pan. Once hot, pan-fry the marinated fish pieces on all sides until they are golden. Remove from the pan and set aside. 5. Cook the Rice: - In a large pot, bring water to a boil. Add the cinnamon stick, cloves, cardamom pods, and 1 tablespoon of salt. Add the soaked basmati rice and simmer for 10-12 minutes until the rice is just cooked (al dente). Drain the rice and set aside. 6. Assemble the Biryani: - Warm the milk slightly and add the saffron to infuse. - In a clean large pot, spread 1 tablespoon of ghee on the sides and bottom. Layer half of the cooked rice at the bottom, followed by the tomato gravy, cooked fish, and a layer of crispy onions, chopped coriander, and chopped mint. Add the remaining rice on top, drizzle with saffron-infused milk, and layer with the rest of the crispy onions, mint, and coriander. - Place a clean tea towel over the pot and secure the lid on top. Chicken and Sausage Gumbo Ingredients - 2 yellow bell peppers (capsicum), diced - 3 sticks celery, diced - 1 white onion, diced - 6 cloves garlic, minced - small bunch of thyme - 500g (1 lb) smoked sausage, sliced - 6 chicken thighs, sliced - 100g (3.5 oz) pork lard - 80g (2.8 oz) plain flour (all-purpose flour) - 1 tbsp garlic powder - 1 tbsp smoked paprika - 1/2 tbsp cayenne pepper - 1 tbsp dried oregano - 1 tbsp onion powder - 2 bay leaves - 1/2 tbsp ground white pepper - 6 1/3 cups (1.5L) beef or chicken stock - salt to taste - hot sauce, to taste - 2 spring onions, sliced thin - rice to serve Method 1. Add the pork lard to a large pot or saucepan over medium-high heat. Once it's melted, add the flour. Continue to whisk and cook the flour over high heat until it reaches a dark golden colour. This should take about 15-20 minutes. Do it slowly to avoid burning. 2. Add the bell peppers, celery, and onion to the roux and season with salt and pepper. Sauté, mixing through the roux for 4-5 minutes, then add the garlic and stir through. 3. After 2 more minutes of cooking, add the sliced chicken along with all the seasonings (garlic powder, smoked paprika, cayenne, oregano, onion powder, bay leaves, thyme tied with butcher's string, and white pepper). Mix well before adding the cold stock, stirring until there are no lumps left in the roux. 4. Add the sliced sausage and stir through well. Simmer the whole pot for 30-45 minutes. 5. Once finished simmering, check for seasoning. Add more salt if needed, and as much hot sauce as desired. 6. Serve in a shallow bowl, piled high, with steamed white rice on top and sliced spring onions. #cooking #shorts #shortsvideo #recipe #chicken #howto #foryou #food
