This video is intended solely for entertainment purposes. ★ PART 1 FORMULA ★ 75% Boiled Linseed Oil / 25% Shellac To make a 25oz mixture use 18oz of BLO mixed with 6oz of shellac. Technically the shellac and BLO will not fully incorporate. This is a good thing! This allows the BLO to soak down into the wood while the shellac remains on the surface for a more protective finish. You will need to shake this mixture very well before each use. It is very important that used rags are properly dried because they can spontaneously combust!! 1. Shake well. 2. Rub elixir into wood with a lint free rag. 3. After 15 minutes wipe off any standing oil. 4. Set out used rags to dry before discarding. 5. Wait 24 hours and apply wax. 6. Make more stuff. ★ PART 2 WAX ★ 1 part carnauba Wax / 1 part beeswax / 4 parts boiled linseed oil / 2 parts citrus solvent. To make 12 fluid ounces of this wax you'll need to melt in a double boiler 1 oz by weight of beeswax, 1 oz by weight of carnauba wax, 4 oz by weight of boiled linseed oil and 2 oz by weight of citrus solvent. 1. Rub on with grey Scotch-Brite pad. Wait 30 minutes. 2. Rub off with white Scotch-Brite pad. New York-Style (ish) Pizza Serves: 6 Prep time: 48 hours Cook time: 3 min Ingredients - 700g (24.7 oz) bread flour - 300g (10.6 oz) wholemeal flour - 25g (0.9 oz) cooking salt (not table salt), for the dough - 30ml (2 tbsp) olive oil - 20g (0.7 oz) sugar, for the dough - 5g (0.2 oz) dry yeast - 570ml (19.3 fl oz) water - 2 tins tomatoes, for the sauce - 10g (0.4 oz) salt, for the sauce - 5g (0.2 oz) sugar, for the sauce - 2g (0.07 oz) dried oregano, for the sauce - low moisture mozzarella, to taste - parmesan cheese, to taste Method 1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the bread flour, wholemeal flour, 20g sugar, dry yeast, and 570ml water. Start mixing by hand to form a dough. Just before turning it out onto your workbench, add the 30ml olive oil and 25g cooking salt. Knead briefly to distribute. 2. Knead the dough on your workbench for 8-10 minutes, until you achieve a smooth texture. Place the dough back into the bowl, cover, and refrigerate for 48 hours for slow fermentation. 3. 3 hours before you're ready to bake, remove the dough from the fridge. Divide into 260g (9.2 oz) portions and roll into tight balls. Place them on a greased tray with a lid. Let them prove at room temperature for 2-3 hours. 4. Preheat your oven to 400°C (752°F) at least an hour in advance to properly heat-soak it. Note: New York-style pizzas are baked at a lower temperature than Neapolitan-style pizzas, with some shops baking at temperatures as low as 330°C (626°F) have a play and see what works best for you. 5. For the sauce, blend the tinned tomatoes with 10g salt, 5g sugar, and dried oregano until smooth. Be careful not to over-blend and incorporate air into the sauce. 6. Stretch the dough to fit your pizza peel or baking surface. Top with the tomato sauce, low-moisture mozzarella, and Parmesan cheese. Can we break up Big Tech, or like China do we need to build our own national internet companies to retain some control? Or is it too late and the financial power of Big Tech already sufficient to buy political influence, media comment, and up and coming competitors? Do you remember when Colin Furze built the Rhino tank and then got stuck in a ditch and had to pull it out with a JCB? The concept was pioneered by Elie Aghnides on the 1950s. The idea being that due to the domed-shaped wheels, the more your sink into mud, the more grip it has. Colin converted a dumper truck to build his version of the Rhino, but it originally had much smaller wheels. The motors are hydraulic, but there wasn’t enough torque to turn the bigger diameter wheels when it was really needed due to the increased leverage. My plan is to make a slightly smaller version, and it’ll be electric, and I’ll try to get a large reduction from the motors to the wheels so I can get more relative torque. I’m also going to have a servo controlled camber angle so it can transform. RECIPES: Reuben: https://www.andy-cooks.com/blogs/recipes/the-reuben Philly Cheesesteak: https://www.andy-cooks.com/blogs/recipes/philly-cheesesteak PO’ Boy: Serves: 4 Prep time: 30 mins Cook time: 8 mins Ingredients 2 long French baguettes 1kg (2.2 lbs) raw shrimp (or prawns), peeled and deveined 200ml (about 7 fl oz) milk 400g (14 oz) fine polenta 3 tbsp Old Bay seasoning 1 tbsp salt, plus extra for seasoning oil for frying (peanut oil recommended) 1/2 head iceberg lettuce, finely sliced 3 tomatoes, finely sliced 200g (7 oz) sliced dill pickles 6 tbsp mayonnaise Directions Start by preparing the shrimp. Place them in a bowl with the milk. In a separate tray, combine the polenta, Old Bay seasoning, and 1 tablespoon of salt, mixing well. Remove the shrimp from the milk, allowing the excess to drip off, then coat them thoroughly in the seasoned polenta mixture. Heat the frying oil to 180°C (356°F) in a deep fryer or a large, deep skillet. Fry the shrimp in small batches for 3-4 minutes, until they are golden brown and cooked through. Carefully remove the shrimp from the oil and transfer them to a wire rack over a tray to drain. Sprinkle a little extra salt over the hot shrimp. To assemble the sandwiches, slice each baguette open and spread mayonnaise on both sides. Layer on the iceberg lettuce, tomato slices, dill pickles, and top with the fried shrimp. Carefully close the sandwich, pressing lightly to compact the fillings without squishing them too much. They do not rely on emotions. Instead, they create music that affects our emotions. This is a trained skill, not an inborn talent. Playing classical guitar is a long-term study. It's something we do in our homes as part of our days. We play for ourselves, for the quality it adds to life. We may enjoy playing guitar for others, but most of the time we are alone with our work. There are methods and formulas for great practice. We can use our time well so that see more progress. We can fix the problems and erase the mistakes. And we can enjoy conquering the plentiful challenges that classical guitar music offers. If you plan to play classical guitar for any length of time, it is worth it to get help. Because we see Mercury's orbit precess. We thought it was due to gravitational effects of other planets. But, that accounts for about 92% of it. The remaining 8% comes from the spatial curvature of the sun as predicted by Einstein in his general theory of relativity. Also, to account for the deflection of light by our sun, we need to account for both space and time curvature.
