Gimbap Ingredients - 6 cups (1.4 litres) cooked short-grain rice - 500g (1.1 lbs) beef rump, cut into strips - 3 tbsp soy sauce - 3 tbsp oyster sauce - 1 tsp white pepper - 1 tbsp sugar - 1/4 yellow pickled radish, cut into strips - 2 carrots, cut into matchsticks - 4 eggs - 1 bunch English spinach - 2 cloves garlic - sesame oil - sesame seeds - salt to taste - 8 sheets seaweed paper (Gim in Korean, Nori in Japanese) Method 1. Start by marinating the beef strips in the soy sauce, oyster sauce, white pepper, and sugar. Leave in the fridge to marinate for 1-4 hours. When ready to cook, heat a large cast-iron pan or flat-top until very hot, drizzle some oil, and fry the beef quickly, being careful not to overcook. 2. To cook the carrots, simply heat some oil in a frying pan and sauté the carrots for 2-3 minutes with a little salt, finish with a little sesame oil, and leave to cool. 3. To make the omelette, beat the eggs well, then in a non-stick pan over medium heat with a little oil, add the eggs and stir. Once the eggs start to thicken, leave to set and cook through. You don't want any colour, so keep an eye on the temperature of the pan. Once the omelette is cool, simply roll up and slice into strips. 4. To cook the spinach, bring a large pot of water with a big pinch of salt to boil. Once boiling, add the spinach and cook for 1 minute before placing it into ice-cold water to stop the cooking. Drain well and squeeze all the moisture from the leaves. Dress the cooked spinach with some grated garlic and a drizzle of sesame oil. 5. To season the cooked rice, add it to a bowl with 2 tablespoons of sesame oil, 2 tablespoons of mixed and toasted sesame seeds, and a pinch of salt. Mix well and leave to cool to room temperature. 6. To assemble the Gimbap, place a sheet of seaweed paper onto a bamboo mat with the shiny side facing down. Next, spread the cooked rice across the sheet in a thin layer, leaving about a 2cm (0.8 inches) gap at the top of the sheet. Spread a small amount of each of the ingredients (spinach, carrots, beef, radish, and egg) across the centre of the rice, then roll tightly towards the top of the sheet with the gap, using a little water across the seaweed sheet to help it stick. 7. Roll tightly, then rub some sesame oil on the outside to make it easier to slice. Slice the Gimbap into 8 even pieces and you're good to go! #cooking #howto #foryou #foryou #shortsvideo

Op verzoek van Zembla analyseerden drie hoogleraren Bestuursrecht de uitspraak over de subsidie van de koning. Ze stellen dat “het recht niet op de goede manier is toegepast” en dat de uitspraak de “schijn heeft van een doelredenering”. De subsidie voor Kroondomein Het Loo had volgens hen nooit op deze manier mogen worden verstrekt. In oktober 2023 deed het College van Beroep voor het Bedrijfsleven (CBb) uitspraak over de 4,7 miljoen euro subsidie die koning Willem-Alexander tussen 2017 en 2021 kreeg voor het beheer van Kroondomein Het Loo. De rechtszaak was aangespannen door De Faunabescherming, die vond dat de koning geen recht had op de subsidie voor Kroondomein Het Loo, omdat hij het terrein tijdens het jachtseizoen afsloot voor het publiek. Maar, volgens de rechters van het CBb is de subsidie rechtmatig. Een openstellingsplicht zou zelfs in strijd zijn met de wet, zeggen zij. De uitspraak zou het sluitstuk moeten zijn van een langlopende juridische strijd, want deze is onherroepelijk. Drie hoogleraren hebben, onafhankelijk van elkaar, de uitspraak bestudeerd en zijn buitengewoon kritisch op de argumentatie en het oordeel van de rechters van het CBb. De Leidse hoogleraar Staats- en bestuursrecht Wim Voermans stelt dat er sprake is van een “juridische dwaling”. Voermans: “Ik heb het idee dat hier het recht niet op de goede manier is toegepast.” Volgens Raymond Schlössels, hoogleraar Bestuursrecht van de Universiteit Maastricht is het een “ondoorgrondelijke” uitspraak: “Het heeft de schijn van een doelredenering. Alsof ze dachten: we moeten ergens uitkomen.” Hun Groningse collega Herman Bröring noemt het hele proces - van de subsidieverlening door het kabinet tot de uitspraak van de rechter - “van meet af aan een rommeltje”. Vernietiging van de subsidie was volgens hoogleraar Bröring “het meest zuiver geweest”. Dat zou kunnen betekenen dat de koning de miljoenen onterecht heeft gekregen en moet terugbetalen, aldus Voermans. Kroondomein Het Loo ligt tussen Apeldoorn en Elspeet. Het was in handen van de koninklijke familie – totdat koningin Wilhelmina het schonk aan de Nederlandse staat. Er werd destijds een gunstige regeling bedongen: de monarch beheert het gebied en is de enige die er mag jagen. Chickpea Salad with Grilled Prawns 🍤🥗 Ingredients - 800g prawn meat, peeled and deveined (approx. 1.76 lbs) - 2 tbsp olive oil - 1 tsp salt, plus extra to taste - 1 tsp Old Bay seasoning - 2 Lebanese cucumbers, seeds removed and diced - 500g cherry tomatoes, halved (approx. 1.1 lbs) - 1 red onion, diced - 3 corn cobs - 500g cooked chickpeas (approx. 1.1 lbs) - 4 tbsp red wine vinegar - 4 tbsp Extra Virgin Olive Oil (EVOO) - 1 tbsp maple syrup - 100g feta cheese, crumbled (approx. 3.5 oz) - 1 tbsp dried oregano Method 1. In a bowl, combine prawn meat with 2 tablespoons of olive oil, 1 teaspoon of salt, and Old Bay seasoning. 2. Grill the corn cobs on a hot grill for 10-12 minutes, or until they develop a nice colour on the outside. Once cooked, slice off the kernels from the cobs. 3. For the dressing, mix red wine vinegar, EVOO, maple syrup, and a pinch of salt in a jar. Shake well to combine. 4. Cook the prawns on a flat grill or in a cast iron pan over high heat for 6-8 minutes, or until thoroughly cooked. 5. In a large bowl, toss together cucumbers, tomatoes, onions, corn kernels, and chickpeas. Add the dressing, a pinch of salt, and oregano, mixing well. Finally, gently fold in the feta cheese. 6.
