These rings are made using augmented reality. The image is first generated in a 3D modeling software. Then, to make them look like they’re in the real world, the artist Piper XY tracks the position of a real piece of paper on her hand - using her camera and some additional software. The result is that when you’re looking through your phone’s camera, it looks like those rings are actually on your hand. This is one of the many ways that augmented reality is combining the digital and physical worlds - in art, education, communication, and more. This might become the first flying car. The FAA just gave this prototype an “airworthiness certificate," which lets them test it more extensively. It’s not the first electric vertical take off and landing vehicle, but they say it’s the first that can drive normally on roads and also fly. So, “flying car.” The company’s first car delivery isn’t expected to be until the end of 2025, and it comes with a price tag of $300,000.
