Like an actor bring words to life, we breathe life into our pieces. And we can do this in an organized way, day in and day out, reliably. Great musicians can play wonderfully in any mood. They do not rely on emotions. Instead, they create music that affects our emotions. This is a trained skill, not an inborn talent. Playing classical guitar is a long-term study. It's something we do in our homes as part of our days. We play for ourselves, for the quality it adds to life. We may enjoy playing guitar for others, but most of the time we are alone with our work. There are methods and formulas for great practice. We can use our time well so that see more progress. We can fix the problems and erase the mistakes. And we can enjoy conquering the plentiful challenges that classical guitar music offers. If you plan to play classical guitar for any length of time, it is worth it to get help. When can you and I fly faster than sound? Subscribe for optimistic science and tech stories! Twenty years ago, you could fly in a plane going FASTER THAN SOUND. The famous Concorde supersonic plane could get from New York to London in 3 and a half hours! It flew at an altitude so high you could see the curve of the earth, all while popping champagne. But then… these planes stopped flying, and we never made any more like them. Now, New York to London takes 7 hours. But why? What happened to supersonic planes? And more importantly… can we bring them BACK? If you ask NASA, the answer is yes. We got to go see the brand new experimental X-59 plane they’re building. Whole Roasted Barramundi Ingredients: - 1 barramundi, butterflied - 1 bunch of pandan leaves - 3 spring onions, thinly sliced (greens and whites separated) - thumb-sized piece of ginger, julienned - 4 tbsp soy sauce - 4 tbsp Shaoxing wine - 1 tsp sugar - 4 tbsp peanut oil Method: 1. Preheat your Gozney Dome for 20 minutes at the maximum temperature. 2. Lay the pandan leaves on an oven tray, and place the butterflied barramundi on top, skin side down. 3. Season the fish with salt and white pepper. Then, top with the julienned ginger and the white parts of the spring onions. 4. Transfer the fish into the Gozney Dome, reducing the temperature to the lowest setting. 5. Roast the fish for 25-30 minutes, or until it is cooked through. 6. While the fish is cooking, prepare the sauce. Combine the soy sauce, Shaoxing wine, and sugar in a small saucepan over medium-low heat. Stir until the sugar dissolves. In a separate pan, heat the peanut oil until it reaches just below the smoking point. 7. Once the fish is out of the oven, sprinkle it with the green parts of the spring onions. Pour the soy sauce mixture over the fish, followed by the hot peanut oil. The oil should sizzle as it hits the fish, adding a final touch of flavour. Blistered Green Beans with XO Sauce Ingredients: - 1kg green beans - 2 tbsp peanut oil - 80g XO sauce - 1 tbsp white sesame seeds, toasted Method: 1. Blanch the green beans in a pot of salted boiling water for 3 minutes. Then, immediately refresh them in ice-cold water. Once cooled, drain and dry the beans thoroughly. Toss them with peanut oil to coat evenly. 2. Preheat a large cast-iron pan in your Gozney Dome at full temperature. When the pan is very hot, add the green beans. Piccalilli Ingredients: - 500g small cauliflower florets (about 1.1 lbs) - 250g shallots, diced (about 8.8 oz) - 200g zucchini, diced (about 7 oz) - 100g green beans, diced (about 3.5 oz) - 2 tbsp sea salt - 600ml malt vinegar (about 2½ cups) - 3 tbsp mustard powder - 1.5 tbsp coriander seeds - 2 tbsp yellow mustard seeds - 1.5 tbsp cumin seeds - 0.5 tbsp ground turmeric - 4 tbsp flour - 200g brown sugar (about 7 oz) - 3 bay leaves Method: 1. Place all the vegetables in a bowl, sprinkle with sea salt, and toss well. Put them in a colander, cover with a tea towel, and leave for 1.5 hours to allow some moisture to drain from the vegetables. 2. In a separate bowl, mix about one-quarter (150ml) of the vinegar with the mustard powder, coriander seeds, mustard seeds, cumin, turmeric, and flour. Stir well to form a smooth paste. 3. In a large pot, combine the remaining vinegar, bay leaves, and brown sugar. Heat over medium heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves. 4. Add the spice and flour paste to the pot. Then, add the drained vegetables. Stir everything together well. 5. Continue cooking for 5-6 minutes, or until the vegetables just start to lose their crispness. 6. Sterilise some glass jars by placing them in boiling water for 5 minutes. Then, fill them with the hot piccalilli and seal the jars. Allow the piccalilli to sit at room temperature for 3-4 days, opening the jars once a day to release any built-up pressure and prevent explosions. 7. After this period, store the piccalilli in the fridge. Analytic Idealism is THE new worldview that can make sense of anomalous phenomena, whether it is NDE's, altered mental states or UAP's, whilst remaining 100% compatible with our current understanding of physics. In this video Hans Busstra discusses questions from viewers of our channel with Bernardo Kastrup (director of the Essentia Foundation) Physicalism offered an equilibrium for around two hundred years. But if one closely looks in the fields of neuroscience, physics and philosophy, anomalies are piling up. The only way to still entertain the idea that physicalism can make sense of unexplainable empirical phenomena—ranging from loophole-free Bell inequality tests, to altered mental states, to undeniable new evidence around Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAP’s)—is to literally ‘don’t look up,’ to paraphrase the hilarious Netflix film that actually was a painfully accurate cultural critique of our times. In this Q&A Hans Busstra and Bernardo Kastrup discuss questions coming in around anomalies in the fields of NDE’s, UAP’s and fundamental physics. Though analytic idealism can’t offer clear-cut answers to most of these questions, it can—and this is a crucial difference with physicalism—in principle build testable theories around these phenomena. For instance, if nature consists of mental states, it is not unthinkable that when dissociative processes weaken—for instance, during NDE’s—that people can experience other people’s experiences. And if UAP’s in some cases seem to present themselves as mental phenomena, under idealism it doesn’t follow that they are imaginary. If we want to continue the scientific endeavour of accurately describing and predicting the behaviour of nature, we need to ‘look up’ under all circumstances; analytic idealism offers us a new telescope to do so confidently. I'll announce the sub-channel and the memberships soon :) More EDIT: Yes turning the turbine wheel only fixes the turbine wheel and now the compressors would actually spin the wrong way if this was an actual working jet engine. I think the manufacturer made a mistake while 3D printing the wheels and printed something correctly but others as mirror images. This video is a premiere not because I have something new and cool to show you but mostly because I would like to hear your opinion and feedback live on some things I have some doubts about. The first, shorter, part of the video, will address some of the issues with my Jet Engine explanation but the rest of the video will focus on ideas and plans for the near future where I hope you will join the conversation. The video is a bit long-winded (27min) and fully unscripted but it does get to the main point. To create a bit of a prelude, I am feeling trapped by the channel and have a strong need to produce different types of content from time to time, experiment and cover topics which I now feel are not suitable for this channel. So I was thinking about memberships and/or sub-channels as ways to do this, but I'm not yet sure what would make the most sense. I feel that I need to change the pace from time to time in order not to loose my passion for doing this. That's sort of the gist of it to get us started.
