YouTube just released a tool that lets you make a new song in the voice of any of these musicians, just by typing a few words. This is called Dream Track. It’s an experiment from YouTube and Google DeepMind. You go to YouTube Shorts, click “create new”, select the musician’s voice you want to use (like Charlie Puth), then type in less than 50 characters (like “upbeat song about my dog named Thor”)... There are 7 artists to choose from right now, and they have all opted in for this, though it’s not clear exactly whose music went into training the original model, Lyria. But with this tool, Charlie Puth could have a hit song… that’s not made by him!! Who would own that song??? It’s not clear. I could see a world where we have voice ID and get a share of what people create in our voices, but can revoke permission. But… this feels like a big change. Korean french fry corn dog Ingredients: - 8 hot dogs - 8 wooden skewers - 120g (1 cup) yellow cornmeal - 125g (1 cup) all-purpose flour, plus more for dusting - 2 tbsp granulated sugar - 2 tsp baking powder - 1/8 tsp salt - 1 large egg - 240ml (1 cup) buttermilk - 500g frozen crinkle cut fries cut into small pieces - 1L (approx. 4 cups) peanut oil, for frying Method: 1. Dry the hot dogs with paper towels to remove any moisture. Insert wooden skewers into the end of each hot dog, pushing about halfway through. Dust each hot dog lightly with flour. 2. In a large bowl, combine cornmeal, flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Whisk together. In another bowl, beat the egg and then add the buttermilk. Combine the wet and dry ingredients and mix until smooth. 3. In a deep frying pan or pot, heat the peanut oil over medium heat to about 180°C (350°F). 4. Dip each skewered hot dog into the batter, ensuring it's fully coated, and allow the excess to drip off for a moment, then roll in the diced crinkle cut fries. 5. Immediately and carefully place the battered hot dog into the hot oil, holding one side up until the other side starts to float. 6. Fry the corn dogs until they are golden brown and crispy, turning occasionally for even cooking, about 3-4 minutes. Do not overcrowd the pot; fry a few at a time. 7. Once golden brown, remove the corn dogs from the oil using tongs and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to drain any excess oil. 8. Serve the corn dogs hot with your favourite condiments, such as ketchup or mustard.

Creme Caramel Ingredients: - 165g (3/4 cup) caster sugar - 125ml (1/2 cup) water - 5 eggs - 1 tsp vanilla extract - 60g (1/4 cup) caster sugar - 300g (1 1/4 cups) thickened (or heavy) cream - 400ml (1 2/3 cups) full fat milk Method: 1. To make the caramel, combine 165g (3/4 cup) of sugar and water in a saucepan over medium-high heat. Once the sugar has dissolved, swirl the liquid in the pot but refrain from stirring with a spoon. If it starts to catch on the sides, use a wet pastry brush to brush away the burnt bits. 2. Cook until you achieve a dark golden colour, then pour the caramel into a 30cm metal tin (11.81 inches). Let it set hard at room temperature for one hour. 3. To make the custard, add 60g (1/4 cup) of sugar, vanilla extract, cream, and milk to a pot and place it over medium heat to dissolve the sugar. Heat the mixture without allowing it to boil. 4. In a separate bowl, whisk the eggs well. Once the milk is hot, slowly add it to the eggs while whisking continuously. Once all the milk and eggs are mixed together, pour the mixture back into the pot and heat over medium heat. 5. Stir the custard constantly until it starts to thicken, then pour it over the set caramel. Place the tin in an oven tray and carefully place it in an oven heated to 140°C (284°F). Pour water into the tray until it reaches halfway up the sides of the tin. Optionally, you can use a blow torch to remove any bubbles on the top. 6. Bake the creme caramel for 40 minutes, then remove it from the oven and let it cool to room temperature before refrigerating. Allow it to set for at least 3 hours, but preferably overnight. 7. A mobius strip or loop is a one-sided object known as a non-orientable surface, meaning that within it one cannot consistently distinguish clockwise from counterclockwise turns. You can read more about this on Wikipedia, but we can easily demonstrate the principle by getting a strip of paper, putting one twist in it, and joining the ends together. This means that we essentially have one continuous side, so if we follow it around, we travel over what would have been both sides of the strip when it was flat, and return to where we started.
