ClassicalGuitarShed.com can help you on the journey. If you want to rise to new levels in your playing, it just takes time and strategic work. To play classical guitar well, you need to know: * how to hold and touch the guitar - form and positioning * how to move your fingers and hands - efficient, clean, and fluid * how to learn pieces - reading music, understanding what you see, ingraining, polishing * how to craft the music so it is beautiful - swells and fades, rhythm, touch * how to practice so all these skills improve over time and don't go away At the root of beautiful playing is a solid technique (aka “the way your hands move”). You may have beautiful music in your head, but if your hands can't play it, it won't come out of the guitar. But bad technique puts a limit on your playing. Speed, tone quality, and control can suffer. Good technique gets stronger and more instinctive with every practice. It forms the bedrock foundation for your music. And you may want to understand music so you learn it more easily and it makes more sense. This can help you avoid the excess frustration and dismay that comes with shoddy practice and prolonged confusion. But playing the notes is not enough. Like an actor bring words to life, we breathe life into our pieces. And we can do this in an organized way, day in and day out, reliably. Great musicians can play wonderfully in any mood. They do not rely on emotions. Instead, they create music that affects our emotions. This is a trained skill, not an inborn talent. Playing classical guitar is a long-term study. It's something we do in our homes as part of our days. We play for ourselves, for the quality it adds to life. We may enjoy playing guitar for others, but most of the time we are alone with our work. There are methods and formulas for great practice. We can use our time well so that see more progress. We can fix the problems and erase the mistakes. And we can enjoy conquering the plentiful challenges that classical guitar music offers. If you plan to play classical guitar for any length of time, it is worth it to get help. It's not something we can do on our own, like folk music. I have a structured and organized course to help you play classical guitar. Fondant Potatoes Ingredients: - 8 large Russet potatoes - 2 tbsp oil - salt to taste - 60g (2.1 oz) butter - 400ml (13.5 fl oz) chicken stock - 1 head garlic, cut in half - small bunch thyme Method: 1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (356°F). 2. Slice the potatoes on the sides so you have a large flat surface to work with (it should look like the shape of a bar of soap). Using a ring cutter, cut the centre out so you have round disks. Keep the remaining potato for mash. 3. Rinse the potatoes under cold water and pat dry. 4. In a large pan at least 10cm deep, heat the oil. Season the potatoes and place them into the hot pan. 5. Once you have a good colour on one side, flip them and add the garlic and butter. 6. Baste the potatoes in the foamy butter until golden brown, then add the chicken stock and thyme. 7. Place into a 180°C (356°F) oven for 40 minutes or until the potatoes are golden brown and cooked through. 8. Enjoy! #shorts #recipe #cooking #food #potato #roast #howto #foodlover #madeformakers #cookingrecipes

Home, landscapes and light. The world-famous painter Cézanne has worked intensively with Impressionism. Provence gave him inspiration and frame. The vast landscapes are recurring motifs and the light reflects the splendour and naturalness of this French region. Charming backdrops, captured in countless works. These are the landscapes that Cézanne once hiked, with his easel, his canvas and his colours. This lecture is about the world's first scientific revolution [Ionian physics] and its cultural consequences. This new science destabilized the polis and demanded a new response that was intellectually respectable in this new context. Socrates and Plato and Aristotle took up the challenge of creating a new rational monotheism that modified all of the human sciences. Join me at 8 pm ET for a zoom discussion regarding this lecture. The Essentia Foundation's origin story is the story of Dutch entrepreneur and humanitarian Fred Matser meeting philosopher Bernardo Kastrup. In this video, Hans Busstra narrates how the meeting of these two men stands for the connection between heart and mind. For Fred Matser, embracing the worldview of idealism has always been a journey of the heart: through profound transcendent experience he came to the insight that reality is fundamentally mental and unitary. When Fred met Bernardo Kastrup a decade ago, he immediately recognized that Bernardo had exactly the same worldview, but had arrived at it from the other direction: via the mind. He convinced Bernardo Kastrup to quit a flourishing career in high-tech to lead the Essentia Foundation. The friendship between Fred and Bernardo symbolises what the Essentia Foundation stands for: heart and mind can fully connect, without compromise. Idealism is a worldview that honors human intuition as presented in religious and philosophical traditions worldwide (the heart), as well as human rationality, on which science builds. As the latter is mistakenly associated with materialism, the Essentia Foundation specifically focuses on analytic idealism. It was due to the wisdom of the heart, namely Fred Matser's insight that the world needs a scientific platform bringing together metaphysical idealists, that the Essentia Foundation was born. Tracing back to ancient Greece, specifically Crete, the history of Europe unfolds, highlighting the inception of the continent's first high culture and the foundational myth of the Phoenician princess Europa’s kidnapping by Zeus. Narrator Christopher Clark guides viewers through this journey in a 6-part documentary series. Europe is often synonymous with the "Christian Occident", yet its civilisation is shaped by various faiths, including Christianity from the Orient, Judaism throughout the Roman Empire, and Islam in the Iberian Peninsula up to the 15th century. The “Europeanisation of the Earth” commenced with Christopher Columbus’s discovery of America while seeking a new route to India on behalf of the Spaniards, marking a "golden age" for Europeans but resulting in the suffering of millions in their colonies. If you like, you can learn more here: https://classicalguitarshed.com/membership/?utm_source=youtube&utm_medium=video&utm_campaign=How_to_Play_Silent_Night_on_Guitar_Christmas_Song_tutorial_with_Free_PDF_book&utm_content=HxBHp5hCOd8 If you would like to hear me (Allen Mathews) playing, visit my other youtube channel: http://www.youtube.com/allenmathews/

Pissaladière Ingredients: - 200g (7.1 oz) bread flour - 1 tsp salt - 150ml (5.1 fl oz) warm water - 7g (0.25 oz) instant yeast - 5 tbsp olive oil - 4 onions, thinly sliced - 100g (3.5 oz) anchovies - 25 kalamata olives - 5 sprigs of thyme Method: 1. To make the dough, add the flour and salt to a bowl. Mix and create a well in the centre, then pour in the water. 2. Add the yeast to the water and start to mix from the centre out gradually, incorporating flour as you go. 3. Once the dough comes together, turn it out onto a floured work surface and knead for 7-10 minutes or until the dough becomes smooth. 4. Grease the bowl in which you mixed the dough, then place the dough ball into the bowl and cover with a tea towel. Leave in a warm place to prove for 1 hour or until the dough has doubled in size. 5. To make the caramelised onions, add the remaining olive oil to a frying pan over medium heat. Once the oil is hot, add the onions and a big pinch of salt. Slowly cookthe onions, stirring frequently, until they turn a rich, dark colour. This will take roughly an hour. 6. Once the dough has proved, turn it out onto a floured work surface and roll it into a large flat square about 50mm thick. 7. Place the rolled-out dough onto a lightly greased oven tray. Next, spread the onions evenly across the entire surface of the dough. 8. Now add your anchovies and Kalamata olives in whatever pattern you wish, finishing with fresh sprigs of thyme. 9. Place this into a 200°C (392°F) oven for 20-22 minutes or until the dough is cooked through and just starting to get a little crispy. 10. Remove from the oven and let it cool slightly before slicing and serving. #recipe #cooking #food #howto #asmr #heybabe #pizza #shorts

Back in 2022 Formula 1 announced that starting with 2026 all race cars will only use fully sustainable fuels in other words no new fossil carbon will be burned, instead “the carbon will come from non-food biological sources, genuine municipal waste or even extracted directly from the atmosphere” In 2023 the calendar of Formula 1 included approximately 150.000 of kilometers of land and air travel in an order that in no way prioritized the reduction of land and air travel. And pretty much all of it is on non-sustainable jet fuel and diesel. If we add all the math the race cars account for 1.9% of the distance traveled by vehicles within the 2023 Formula 1 season, and this does not include the cars and other vehicles of all the visitors flocking to the events. BMW likes to boast how their cars use up to 20% recycled plastics and how they recycle metal shavings during the manufacturing process. Here’s what they also thought was a good idea. A monthly subscription for heated seats. Basically all the metal hardware, the heating elements and all the wiring, buttons, switches, fuses, relays and software is installed into every car. However to use it, you must pay a subscription. If you don’t pay a subscription, no heated seats for you. Many people live in warm climates. Many may choose not to pay the subscription. This means that many cars will receive a piece of equipment that will never be used. The manufacturing of this equipment of course has an environmental impact. The recycling of this equipment also has an environmental impact. And it’s added weight negatively impacts the fuel efficiency of the vehicle. KTM motorcycles had a similar idea. They call it “DEMO mode”. They install a very wide array of electronic rider aids and optional features. All of these require their own wiring, chips, sensors and more. But after 1500km they all get deactivated and you can keep using only the ones you pay for. Again we have the production and future recycling of things that will never be used unless the manufacturer receives a profit. Something else that's an increasing practice among car, truck and even farm equipment manufacturers is to make parts impossible to repair or to fuse multiple parts into one. Parts integral to the operation of the vehicle are purposely welded, sealed, soldered or otherwise made in such a way that they cannot be repaired. We also have Intercoolers fused into intake manifolds and other multi-component assemblies where the failure of one part requires the replacement of the entire assemby resulting in fully functioning components ending up in the trash. The barrier against third party maintenance and repair is further strengthened by using proprietary or prohibitively expensive special tools and software walls that require part registration to restore vehicle functionality. But car manufacturers aren’t alone in this, tech giants like Apple as well as many other manufacturers of consumer electronics are also experts at greenwashing. Apple for example boasts how their new apple watch is their first carbon neutral product. The wristband has 30% recycled material in it. But they together with many other corporations from multiple different sectors have spent millions on making their products difficult or impossible to repair through methods I already mentioned. They have then spent further millions to lobby against the “right to repair” legislation in order to keep their devices unrepairable and force consumers to buy new ones because the repair of said devices is often made purposely as expensive as a new device. And as we know, making new devices and recycling old ones both have an environmental impact. And the millions spent on making devices unrepairable and the millions spent on lobbying could have easily been spent on making devices more easy to repair and empowering consumers to repair them themselves. This would have been a truly measurable positive impact for the environment but it would also negatively impact future profits of the company, meaning that it would essentially be an act of charity and Apple, BMW, KTM, Formula 1 and all of the other corporations and businesses you can think off, none of them are charities. So the problem with our world is that it is profit based and ruled by giant corporations who have so much money and power that they can bend governments and legislation to their will. Following this line of thinking we reach a conclusion that the solution is to dismantle capitalism and embrace communism while setting environmental well-being as the number 1 priority. A world of harmony and happiness shall then ensue? But how accurate is that? Where are his victims today? and what happens when SunnyV2 misses the mark on said victims? WeWork announced this week that it would not make two sets of interest payments totaling about $95 million, a move meant to jump-start negotiations with its lenders at the same time it tries to cut costs with its landlords. The missed interest payments will spur speculation of a bankruptcy filing. But WeWork says it has the cash on hand, and the company has a 30-day grace period to make the payments, which were due Monday. At the end of June, it had $205 million in cash and access to a credit line worth $475 million. Skipping an interest payment is not necessary to negotiate with lenders. But indebted companies sometimes use the move to put pressure on lenders to restrike deals under more favorable terms. From its inception in 2010 to its collapse in 2023, WeWork's journey has been a roller-coaster. Once valued at $47 billion dollars, the company today, is on the verge of bankruptcy. To make the sandwich, toast the bread (or don't) and then add the tartare sauce to the bottom. 2. Next, add the fish fingers, then watercress, and finally pickled onions. Spread some more tartare sauce on the top slice, and you're good to go. Tartare Sauce Ingredients: - 200ml mayo - 6 cornichons, diced - 1 tbsp baby capers - 1 shallot, finely diced - small bunch dill, finely sliced - zest of 1 lemon Method: 1. Mix everything in a bowl, and you're good to go. Pickled Onions Ingredients: - 1 red onion, sliced thin - 200ml water - 200ml apple cider vinegar - 1 tbsp salt - 6 black peppercorns - 3 cloves garlic, smashed - 1 tbsp honey Method: 1. Place everything, apart from the onions, into a pot and bring to a light simmer. 2. In a clean glass jar, add the onions and then pour over the hot pickling liquid. 3. Leave to cool, and it's good to go (tip: it's better if you make these the day before). Once at room temp, leave in the fridge, and they are good for weeks. Fish Fingers Ingredients: - 600g white fish, cut into 8 strips (halibut, cod, or haddock will also work great) - 2 eggs, beaten - 200g flour - 200g panko breadcrumbs - salt - oil for frying (olive, peanut, or whatever oil you like to cook in) Method: 1. To crumb the fish, simply season the fish with salt, then dust them in seasoned flour, then into the egg mixture, and finally into the panko breadcrumbs. Place them onto a plate with some panko on the bottom so they don't stick. 2. To cook them, add 0.5cm of oil to a frying pan and bring up to heat. Then fry the fish fingers for 3-4 minutes on both sides until golden brown and delicious. 3. Remove from the pan and season with salt.
