ClassicalGuitarShed.com can help you on the journey. If you want to rise to new levels in your playing, it just takes time and strategic work. To play classical guitar well, you need to know: * how to hold and touch the guitar - form and positioning * how to move your fingers and hands - efficient, clean, and fluid * how to learn pieces - reading music, understanding what you see, ingraining, polishing * how to craft the music so it is beautiful - swells and fades, rhythm, touch * how to practice so all these skills improve over time and don't go away At the root of beautiful playing is a solid technique (aka “the way your hands move”). You may have beautiful music in your head, but if your hands can't play it, it won't come out of the guitar. But bad technique puts a limit on your playing. Speed, tone quality, and control can suffer. Good technique gets stronger and more instinctive with every practice. It forms the bedrock foundation for your music. And you may want to understand music so you learn it more easily and it makes more sense. This can help you avoid the excess frustration and dismay that comes with shoddy practice and prolonged confusion. But playing the notes is not enough. Like an actor bring words to life, we breathe life into our pieces. And we can do this in an organized way, day in and day out, reliably. Great musicians can play wonderfully in any mood. They do not rely on emotions. Instead, they create music that affects our emotions. This is a trained skill, not an inborn talent. Playing classical guitar is a long-term study. It's something we do in our homes as part of our days. We play for ourselves, for the quality it adds to life. We may enjoy playing guitar for others, but most of the time we are alone with our work. There are methods and formulas for great practice. We can use our time well so that see more progress. We can fix the problems and erase the mistakes. And we can enjoy conquering the plentiful challenges that classical guitar music offers. If you plan to play classical guitar for any length of time, it is worth it to get help. It's not something we can do on our own, like folk music. I have a structured and organized course to help you play classical guitar. If you like, you can learn more here: https://classicalguitarshed.com/membership/?utm_source=youtube&utm_medium=video&utm_campaign=O'Carolan_Si'Bheg_and_Si'Mhor_Free_Classical_Guitar_Sheet_Music&utm_content=pwTIGP45e_g If you would like to hear me (Allen Mathews) playing, visit my other youtube channel: http://www.youtube.com/allenmathews/
Ad: Enter the RealVNC Raspberry Pi competition: https://www.realvnc.com/en/discover/realvnc-raspberrypi-prize/ I recently discovered freeline skating or free skating. These are skates which each look a bit like a little skateboard. They have two wheels each but they aren’t attached to your feet like rollerblades or rollerskates, you just stand on them. Free skating is really hard, but I can make it easier with less wheels and jet engines? Caster dynamics are really interesting - the physics involved mean that skates with caster seem to automatically stabilise through a passive-dynamic system which always pushes you upright provided you can keep moving. I 3D printed some pieces and used a CNC to make the main skate platforms. Since 1823, the Union has been promoting debate and discussion not just in Oxford University, but across the globe. The Oxford Union is deeply grateful and encouraged by the messages of support in response to our determination to uphold free speech. During our 200 year history, many have tried to shut us down. As the effects of self-imposed censorship on university campuses, social media and the arts show no signs of dissipating, the importance of upholding free speech remains as critical today as it did when we were founded in 1823. Your support is critical in enabling The Oxford Union to continue its mission without interruption and without interference. You can support the Oxford Union here: https://oxford-union.org/supportus
From 1930 the Nazi party is on the rise. Playing on the public’s fears following the Wall Street Crash, their policies now seem legitimate. A series of elections bring all the key players together. Goebbels devises a series of innovative propaganda campaigns, Göring uses his social and political influence to bring the establishment on side and Himmler’s expanding SS police the organisation. Accurately subtitled in English, Russian and Spanish (pick your CC language in the settings) Cardiologist Dr. Pim van Lommel became internationally known after his ground-breaking study on NDEs (Near Death Experiences) was published in the respected medical journal The Lancet, in 2001. The study was remarkable in that it was a prospective one: conditions were set and ready before patients underwent cardiac arrest. The results showed that merely physiological explanations for the NDEs were inadequate, thereby raising profound questions about the nature of consciousness and its relation to brain function. In this in-depth interview, Essentia Foundation's Natalia Vorontsova discusses the philosophical implications of these findings with Dr. van Lommel, at his house in the Netherlands. Ingredients - 1 cup sushi rice - 1 can tuna in spring water, drained - small bunch of chives finely sliced - 0.5 teaspoon Tōgarashi (more if you like it spicy) - 4 tbsp Japanese mayo - 2 tbsp Tonkatsu sauce - 1 sheet nori - soy sauce for glazing the pan-fried ones Method Worth noting there are so many variations of onigiri and you can eat it with just steamed rice and nori or pan fry. I prefer the pan-fried ones for the added crunch. 1. Cook the rice by rinsing it under cold water until it runs clear, then place the rinsed rice into a rice cooker with 1 cup of water and cook. 2. Once cooked, let it cool to room temp (about 20 mins) before you make your onigiri. 3. For the tuna mayo filling, simply mix the tuna, mayo, chives, Tonkatsu and Tōgarashi. 4. To make your onigiri, season a bowl of water with salt, wet your hands and place about 1/4 cup of rice in your hand. Flatten it out and place a heaped tablespoon of the tuna mayo in the middle. Then place some more rice over the top and shape it into a triangle shape. 5. If you are eating as is, place a piece of nori in the bottom and season on the top with some more Tōgarashi. 6. To pan fry, place a small amount of oil in a pan and fry on both sides over medium-high heat, then glaze with soy sauce at the end. 7. Enjoy!
DIY woodworking project using 3 cheap TVs. Brought to us by Squarespace. For 10% off your first purchase, go to: http://squarespace.com/makesomething Making a fake window using three 50-inch TVs and basic tools. I start by placing the TVs together on a plywood base and drill holes according to the TVs' mounting screw locations. To hold the TVs, I construct a frame from Baltic birch plywood, reinforced with butt joints and pocket hole screws. The central plywood piece is inserted into the frame through rabbets that I cut using a track saw. I use a French cleat system to wall-mount and add curtains for a window effect. I also created a box to conceal all the wiring and electronics. Finally, I use a video wall controller to make the three vertical TVs work as one. Drie keer raden!
Engine is still not nearly broken in and I'm still somewhat afraid the car will fall apart or catch fire. Never did the alignment either but turns out there's no need, goes straight and feels good in the corners. I guess eyeballing it worked for now :) I'm more comfortable with the power now, the drama effect wore off somewhat. I'm estimating that with the 0.5 bar (7-8 psi) it shouldn't make more than 160-170hp (although it somehow feels more than that when the road opens up and there's space to push it). Whatever it is this power level seems to suit it ideally I think, really controllable and confidence inspiring but still packs a very nice punch. The Quaife ATB torsen limited slip differential is worth its weight in gold, a massive transformation in cornering capacity and feel. In the summer of 1381, an army of medieval peasants marched on London. The Peasants Revolt was triggered by King Richard II's poll tax, which was seen as a cruel burden on the already impoverished peasants. But the revolt is unfairly characterized as an unorganized mob of poor farmers. It was a strategic uprising that included all walks of society. The army included parish priests, laborers, artisans, and small traders who also supported the rebellion. The rebellion was fueled by discontent caused by a battered economy, the heavy toll of ongoing wars with France, and the demands of the feudal system. The rebellion initially achieved some success, with rebels capturing London and negotiating with the king, but it was ultimately crushed by the royal army, resulting in the death of many rebels. Romanticism (also known as the Romantic movement or Romantic era) was an artistic and intellectual movement that originated in Europe towards the end of the 18th century. In most parts of Europe, it was at its peak from approximately 1800 to 1850. Romanticism was characterized by its emphasis on emotion and individualism as well as glorification of the past and nature, preferring the medieval to the classical. In March 2023 Bernard Arnault, the chairman and CEO of luxury fashion giant LVMH overtook Elon Musk to become the wealthiest person in the world. He is the only European in the list of top 10 richest people in the world. His wealth has skyrocketed with the massive growth in LVMH’s share price. And it's not hard to see why they’re so profitable. It’s easy to make money when you can sell items of clothing for $5,000. While luxury brands build the perception of having the highest quality of goods, they are not usually any different than the products you would buy at a high street store. Luxury brands are highly sophisticated marketing machines that employ every psychological trick in the book to make you believe the product they’re selling you is worth the astronomical price tag. In today's video we look at who actually buys these goods, if Rolex watches and Birkin bags are actually good investments, and if the Luxury Goods bubble is about to burst. If you're using canned chickpeas, start by placing the drained chickpeas and bicarb in a pot and covering it with fresh water. If you have soaked your chickpeas, then place them in a pot over medium heat with the bicarb soda and stir for 4-5 minutes to rough up the skins, then cover with water and simmer for 1 - 1.15 hours until very tender (remember to keep some cooked whole chickpeas if you are going to serve it the first way with just olive oil). 2. Place over medium-high heat and simmer for 5 minutes. Remove from the heat, drain them and place them into fresh cold water. 3. Give them a little rub to get as many of the skins off the chickpeas as possible. The skins should float to the top and then you can skim them off and discard them. 4. Place the cooked chickpeas into a food processor with garlic and the juice of a lemon. Then start the food processor and let it run for 5 minutes. 5. After 5 minutes, add the tahini and make sure you scrape the sides down of the bowl then turn it back on and let it run for another 5 minutes. 6. At this point check the hummus for salt and lemon, add more as needed, turn the machine back on and let it run for 10 minutes or as long as you want really, the longer you let it run the smoother it will be. 7. When you are happy with the texture of the hummus, scrape the sides down one more time, and while the machine is still running, pour in the cold water. Once it is at the thickness you are looking for, it's ready! 8. Serve with some olive oil and smoked paprika to garnish. 9. Enjoy with fresh bread! Ingredients - Jammy egg, pickled shallots and parsley salad - eggs, cooked in boiling water for 7.30 minutes and placed in cold water to stop the cooking. - shallots sliced thin and hot pickles in 50/50 apple cider vinegar, a pinch of sugar and a pinch of salt - pickled flat-leaf parsley leaves - Good quality EVOO (extra virgin olive oil) Ingredients - Spiced lamb mince, mint and pomegranate - 400g lamb mince, seasoned with 1 tsp of each: oregano, ground coriander, ground cumin, smoked paprika, salt and pepper, mix well and cook on high heat in a skillet. - pomegranate seeds - fresh mint - EVOO Ingredients- Eggplant, pine nuts and lemon - Diced and cooked eggplant (roast at 210c with oil and salt for 15 minutes) - toasted pine nuts - zest of a lemon - EVOO Ingredients - Roast cauliflower, confit garlic and sumac - roasted cauliflower (drizzle with olive oil and season with salt and sumac, roast at 200c for 25 minutes) - confit garlic (cover garlic in olive oil, season with salt and into a 150c oven for 45 minutes) - sumac - EVOO - parsley to garnish
