Madagascar – the ultimate island. Far from the main continents a unique flora and fauna could evolve here. Like the ring-tailed lemurs, a group of prosimians only living on Madagascar. Being very adaptive, they can even exist in the dry, inhospitable places of the island. But they have a terrible foe – the Fossa, a lemur-hunter. And even those dangerous predators have a gentle side. A special mating ritual reveals their true face. Many stories can be told about this magical place and its inhabitants. This is a very big crumble! It keeps well but if you don't want to make so much, this is a recipe that you can 1/2 or even 1/4 and it will still work great. Just make sure you use an appropriate size oven dish. Ingredients - 14 apples, peeled and cut into halves - juice of a lime (or lemon) - 3 tbsp brown sugar - 1 tsp cinnamon Crumble - 280g flour - 200g rolled oats - 220g unsalted butter, diced - 50g pumpkin seeds (optional) - 40g desiccated coconut (optional) - 250g brown sugar - 1.5 tsp baking powder - 1 tsp salt - ice cream to serve! Method 1. For the apples, simply mix through the lime juice, sugar and cinnamon and placed into an oven-safe dish. 2. Then, get your crumble ready by adding all the ingredients to a bowl and rubbing the butter into the dry ingredients until you form a sandy consistency. 3. Sprinkle the crumble over the top of the apples then place the whole thing into a 180c oven for 40 minutes or until golden brown and the apples are cooked through. 4. Serve hot with vanilla ice cream and enjoy!

In April 1066, Haley's Comet passed over England, causing mass panic. Many believed it to be a warning of a powerful force that would bring cataclysmic change. Later that year, William the Conqueror would wreak havoc on England. The Normans, descendants of Vikings, established themselves as a distinct race in Normandy. The Duke of Normandy, later called William The Conqueror, sought to spread Norman control and seize the English throne. Welcome to Chronicle; your home for all things medieval history! Start by spreading the lard on the bottom of a heavy-based pot. 2. Then simply layer in the pork, salt, peppercorns, garlic and bay leaves. 3. Pour over the vinegar and water. 4. Place it on medium heat with the lid off for 20 minutes or until the vinegar pungency has reduced. 5. Then place the lid on, turn to low and cook for 2.5 hours. Note, there should be no need to stir during the cooking. 6. Once cooked, crack the lid and turn the heat off and let it cool completely before placing it in the fridge overnight. 7. To serve, heat a large cast iron pan over high heat and add the pork, cook until you have a nice colour, serve over rice with pickles and enjoy! Recipe Adobo Seca Worth noting that one of the main differences in this type of adobo is the use of fish sauce instead of soy sauce. I didn't use fish sauce in my recipe because the pork was already very well seasoned with salt. If you do want to use fish sauce, simply take your raw pork belly and cook it in water, season it with a small amount of vinegar and fish sauce, simmer it for 1-1.5 hours or until it's tender before completing the steps below, and finally finishing it with more fish sauce if it needs more salt. Ingredients - 1 tbsp lard - 800g cooked pork, using either the recipe above OR cooked in water, fish sauce and vinegar like in the intro of this recipe. - 20 cloves garlic, finely diced - 1 tbsp achuete (Annatto) seeds soaked in 1/2 cup hot water for 1 hour - 2 tbsp coconut vinegar Method 1. Add the lard to a wok or large frypan. 2. Add the garlic and cook for 2-3 minutes before adding the cooked pork. 3. Now, add the vinegar and liquid from the cooked annatto seeds. Stir well and simmer for 10-15 min for the vinegar to burn off. 4. Once cooked, serve over steamed rice.

Invented by Horace Carley of Cambridgeport, Massachusetts in 1903, the Carley Float was widely carried by both merchant and naval vessels during the First and Second World Wars. Its small size and light weight made it easier to launch than conventional lifeboats while its robust design allowed it to stand up to the rigours of the open sea. Though it provided it occupants with little protection from the elements, it nonetheless helped save countless lives. It's organized, structured, and strategic from the beginning, so you make the most of your time and avoid injury and frustration. ClassicalGuitarShed.com can help you on the journey. If you want to rise to new levels in your playing, it just takes time and strategic work. To play classical guitar well, you need to know: * how to hold and touch the guitar - form and positioning * how to move your fingers and hands - efficient, clean, and fluid * how to learn pieces - reading music, understanding what you see, ingraining, polishing * how to craft the music so it is beautiful - swells and fades, rhythm, touch * how to practice so all these skills improve over time and don't go away At the root of beautiful playing is a solid technique (aka “the way your hands move”). You may have beautiful music in your head, but if your hands can't play it, it won't come out of the guitar. But bad technique puts a limit on your playing. Speed, tone quality, and control can suffer. Good technique gets stronger and more instinctive with every practice. It forms the bedrock foundation for your music. And you may want to understand music so you learn it more easily and it makes more sense. This can help you avoid the excess frustration and dismay that comes with shoddy practice and prolonged confusion. But playing the notes is not enough. Like an actor bring words to life, we breathe life into our pieces. And we can do this in an organized way, day in and day out, reliably. Great musicians can play wonderfully in any mood. They do not rely on emotions. Instead, they create music that affects our emotions. This is a trained skill, not an inborn talent. Playing classical guitar is a long-term study. It's something we do in our homes as part of our days. We play for ourselves, for the quality it adds to life. We may enjoy playing guitar for others, but most of the time we are alone with our work. There are methods and formulas for great practice. We can use our time well so that see more progress. We can fix the problems and erase the mistakes. And we can enjoy conquering the plentiful challenges that classical guitar music offers. If you plan to play classical guitar for any length of time, it is worth it to get help. It's not something we can do on our own, like folk music. I have a structured and organized course to help you play classical guitar. MadRasana Tinge is a collection of concerts that were recorded during the pandemic. Each concert is based on a specific color, and the artists perform the entire concert based on their interpretation of that color. In addition, we brought in Vinay Varanasi to compose a pallavi for each color to represent it further. Due to pandemic restrictions, we were not able to have a live audience. Inspired by a classical Spanish show, we decided to use live plants in place of the audience. To reduce the environmental impact, we made the entire production carbon-neutral by planting trees to offset the electricity used during the shoot. This is the fifth and final concert in the series, and it focuses on the color White. Vinay Varanasi will introduce the concert and provide context about the songs that will be performed, as well as explaining why they were chosen to represent this color. He will also discuss the thought process behind the pallavi that he composed. Here are 7 reasons why the USA has lost its status as the sole superpower, and is not just one of five major powers in the world. You have probably seen Jeff Daniels explain in 'The Newsroom' why 'America is not the greatest country in the world'. Don't miss this new perspective that offers hope if America can accept a more modest role in a multipolar world. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bIpKfw17-yY&t=231s
