Een toekomstig asielzoekerscentrum aan het Diemerhof in Diemen is gekraakt. De kraak werd onlangs ontdekt toen medewerkers van het COA het pand binnen wilden gaan. Dat schrijft burgemeester Erik Boog van Diemen aan de gemeenteraad. Het COA bevestigt de kraak aan AT5. Het kantoorpand in Diemen is ongeveer twee weken geleden gekraakt. Medewerkers van het Centraal Orgaan opvang asielzoekers (COA) wilden het pand betreden, maar konden dat niet. De eigenaar van het pand en het COA stappen naar de rechter om de krakers uit het gebouw te krijgen. Zij hebben de krakers gevraagd het pand binnen vijf dagen te verlaten, maar die termijn is inmiddels verstreken. Volgende maand volgt een kort geding om de krakers eruit te krijgen. In het pand vonden de afgelopen periode sloopwerkzaamheden plaats. Tot de start daarvan werd het gebouw bewoond via een anti-kraakconstructie. Diemen wil het pand vanaf 2027 inzetten als azc. "Toegangsdeur was niet op slot" De krakers hebben op de voordeur van het pand een brief gehangen, waarin ze schrijven dat zij dringend een dak boven hun hoofd nodig hebben en dat zij in het pand rust hebben gevonden. Ze benadrukken dat zij het pand zijn binnengegaan zonder gebruik van geweld, omdat de toegangsdeur niet op slot was. Verder schrijven ze dat ze in het bezit zijn van sleutels van alle ingangen van het gebouw. Of dat inderdaad zo is, is niet duidelijk. De krakers willen anoniem blijven, maar wel laten ze weten: “We gaan gewoon de rechtszaak voeren. Het COA wil hier vluchtelingen huisvesten, maar wat moeten wij dan, onder een tentje onder de brug slapen?” Ook als de politie hen na de rechtszaak zou komen ontruimen willen ze blijven. De gemeente Diemen is geen partij in de rechtszaak, maar volgt de ontwikkelingen "op de voet" vanwege de leefbaarheid in de omgeving, schrijft de burgemeester. Zij waren aanwezig bij de Pride tijdens de aanslag zaterdagavond. Nadat ze van het podium komen zijn ze zichtbaar geroerd door de steun. "Ongelooflijk hoeveel mensen zijn gekomen", vertelt Krause. En natuurlijk over de bloedhitte: want klagen kunnen wij Amsterdammers als geen ander. Kijk nu naar De Zwoele Stad! Vierenveertig jaar deed documentairemaker Roy Dames over zijn laatste film 'Het Hart van Amsterdam'. De docu gaat over de grootste spelers in criminele netwerken van de binnenstad en lijkt wel een tijdscapsule. Net als Roys verhalen zelf, trouwens: als hij vertelt over de drugsbazen het verleden, is het net alsof je erbij was. Maar hij moet natuurlijk oppassen met wat hij zegt. En of in Café Nol toch ook weleens een boef aan de bar komt? Eigenaar Elisabeth Grijzenhout kan dat niet bevestigen noch ontkennen, maar het is duidelijk dat iedereen bij haar welkom is. Haar café, de huiskamer van de Jordaan, is al zestig jaar een begrip. Sinds ze een populaire podcast is gestart en veel aanwezig is op sociale media, loopt het storm in de bruine kroeg aan de Westerstraat. Volgens sommige lhbti'ers is er te weinig oog voor de rol van de islam bij geweld tegen de queergemeenschap. A man drove a minivan into a crowd of people near Berlin's Pride celebrations on Saturday, killing one person and injuring 29 others. Authorities shot and killed the man during an operation on Sunday. The alleged suspect was identified as Abdul Ballout, a 21-year-old German citizen. According to authorities, Ballout tried to join the Islamic State in 2025 and was released from prison in May after being jailed for preparing an attack. "The far right here in Germany is, of course, waiting for an attack like this one to use it in order to highlight that the foreigners are the problem," says Alfonso Pantisano, LGBTQ affairs commissioner for the Berlin state government. "By doing so, they completely forget and avoid to look at how much queerphobia there is in this country in all various levels of structures."
